Chapter 4: Paradise, Where They Became One! (5)

"Ah, so it is about that," Haru said and nodded understanding. "I told you about how I was basically a god in this world, right?"

At Haru's question, the girls nodded slowly, apparently still unable to get it.

"It means that I'm literally omnipotent in this world. I can do anything in this world, from creating life to destroying it with a thought, and other impossible stuff in Earth. However, changing stuff in this world still consumes my energy. The cost is negligible, though. For example, I can blow up a mountain simply by wanting it to happen, and the drain is small that I won't sense it."

Haru's casual confirmation of his apparent omnipotence in Paradise made Sora and Suzuka dumbstruck. When they heard that their brother was like a god in this world, they couldn't really grasp the extent of Haru's capability. But, now, they became aware of how overpowered their beloved older brother in this world. It was no wonder that they were in deep shock.

Their beloved Onii-chan was literally a God here!

Haru then continued, ignoring their dumbfounded looks. "There are strict limitations, though. Anything created here cannot exist outside of this world. Someone with stronger willpower and magic power than me can resist the influence of this world and even escape this world. Also, I cannot create anything that recovers my energy, as in stamina. Well, that's everything, I think."

However, Haru intentionally didn't tell them that his willpower was a little more than 101 times of an ordinary human's willpower. Also, his magic was a bit above 100 times of an average mage.

"Now, regarding your condition, I have used my absolute authority in this world to make you two unable to feel tired and hungry in this place. Of course, it consumes stamina and mental energy, but the consumption is negligent."

Sora and Suzuka only nodded dumbly at Haru.

"All right. Let's continue our walk. I want to begin our picnic as soon as possible!"

At Haru's declaration, Sora and Suzuka voluntarily dismissed the absurd topic that they had heard and then nodded in agreement. They then approached Haru and confiscated his arms before dragging him to their destination.

"Let's go!"

"Come, Onii-chan!"

Haru smiled wryly at their teamwork. Inwardly, he wondered about the subtle change in their behavior. He had noticed how his little sisters had become more in synch after they spent a short time together in Paradise. When he pondered the cause, he remembered one of his Job's Abilities.

Aura of Harem Protagonist!

Haru was a little unsure if that ability was really the cause of their subtle change. If so, Haru didn't really have problems with it as long as it didn't harm their mental and physical condition. They didn't seem to realize the subtle change in their dynamic.

'If it is really that ability's fault, then it is quite a scary ability,' Haru thought. However, he kept his expression to remain neutral because he didn't want Sora and Suzuka to feel something is wrong with him. He then decided to put this problem at the back of his mind and led them to the other end of the flower fields.

When Haru and his sisters arrived at the other end of the flower field, dusk arrived in Paradise. The blue sky became a mix of scarlet, golden, and indigo.

After Haru had created a wooden bench, he invited Sora and Suzuka to watch a surprise that he prepared for them. Thus, they were accompanying Haru on a wooden bench. The three of them were watching the flower fields, though the girls were showing a curious expression.

Sora and Suzuka were curious about Haru's surprise for them.

Finally, when the sun fully sunk on the horizon, something happened.

"It begins… my last surprise for my beloved sisters," Haru announced. Alas, the girls missed how Haru called them his beloved because of the spectacle displayed in front of them.

The spectacle had taken Sora and Suzuka's breath away, rendering them stunned.

"Wow…"

"So pretty…"

Sora and Suzuka unconsciously whispered. Their voice was thick with awe.

The flower field had lit up. Each flower planted there was giving off a pretty light that lit up the dark night. It was a breath-taking and mystifying display that the girls couldn't see in their original world.

Haru darted his gaze between Sora and Suzuka, noting their mesmerized expression. He silently 'Appraised' them, taking great care of the information regarding their compliance for sharing him. He discovered that both Sora and Suzuka had no problems with it.

'I guess my gamble is paid off,' Haru thought, relieved.

In the past, Haru had told Sora about two outcomes of their relationship in the future. Because he knew that Sora was hopelessly in love with him, Haru dared to do that. In the end, Sora had done what he'd expected. She roped Suzuka to accept the idea of sharing him.

Haru was aware that he was using Sora to ease Suzuka with the idea of sharing him. He was a bit guilty of doing it. However, he justified the result more than the method. It wasn't like he would badly treat them. He would never do such a thing. On the contrary, he promised to himself that he would treat Sora and Suzuka well.

Haru loved Sora and Suzuka, after all.

'Alright! Now is time to do it!'

Haru then stood up. His sudden movement broke Sora and Suzuka out of their awe-induced daze. He took a few steps forward before he turned his body around. He put a solemn expression on his face and placed his right palm on his left chest.

When Sora and Suzuka saw Haru's strange action, they were at a loss for words. They noticed the solemn air around Haru and became nervous. They wanted to question Haru, "What are you doing?". But, Haru opened his mouth first, stopping them before they could even produce any sound.

When Sora and Suzuka saw Haru's posture and solemn expression, they became nervous. They couldn't help it because they never saw their brother like this.

"Sora, Suzuka… I want to tell you something…"

Sora and Suzuka gulped and kept their gaze on Haru. They were unable to open their mouth as they got transfixed by Haru's handsome appearance with the glowing flower field and the starry night sky as the background. It was breath-taking and heart-throbbing.

Haru breathed in and out loudly, gathering his courage and resolve. Then, he declared to them.

"Sora, Suzuka, I love you both. My feeling for you isn't familial. I love you not as a brother but as a man. I have felt this love for a long time."

Haru's declaration stunned Sora and Suzuka silly. They froze on the spot with a wide-eyed, dumbfounded expression.

Several seconds later, they exploded.

"Haru, you moron!"

"Onii-chan! Are you an idiot?! No, you're really an idiot for confessing to two girls at the same time!"

Sora and Suzuka immediately left their seat, stood up, and glared while shouting at him. Haru had a wry smile because he had expected that. He raised his hands and waved them in front of him in a "hold on" gesture.

"All right. Please, calm down! Let me explain first!"

Sora and Suzuka had an enraged expression on their faces and crossed their arms in front of their bosoms. Although they had a silent agreement about sharing Haru, they became angry because he had done something. Haru should confess to them separately, not at the same time!

What Haru had done was ruining their beautiful, innocent dream!

Although the girls had many things to speak with Haru, they still followed his request and became silent. When he saw them become silent, though they still had their scary glare, he began his explanation.

"Firstly, Sora." Haru turned his head to Sora. "I started harboring this feeling for a long time ago. Around the time when you came to live with us. I couldn't see you as my younger twin sister because my relationship with Suzuka got strained around that time."

When Suzuka heard that, she flinched and hung her left hand limply at her side. She rubbed her left upper arm with her right hand. She was guilty when she remembered the beginning of her strained relationship with her beloved brother.

As Haru had said, their relationship got strained around that time. It happened after she snapped at him after he took the blame for their mother's broken glasswork.

At that time, Suzuka didn't understand why she was angry so much. Suzuka finally became aware of it after their latest quarrel concerning her desire to transfer to another school.

That happened before Haru took over his predecessor's body and identity.

However, this and that were different matters. Now, it was about Haru's feelings for Sora.

"When I see you, I felt like a missing piece that I was unaware finally appeared and made me feel complete. I wanted us to become closer, but I didn't know-how. After all, my relationship with Suzuka got strained at that time. Also, you're so pretty. Because we didn't grow up together, we couldn't build a proper relationship between a brother and a sister.

"At the same time, we were at the age when we started noticing the differences between boys and girls. Because of that, I couldn't see you as my sister. In my eyes, you are a girl whom I liked. As we grew up, my feeling for you became the love of a man to a woman whom he dearly loved. Sora, I really love you, not as a brother, but as a man to a woman."

Everything that Haru had spoken was the truth behind his predecessor's love for Sora and his own feeling after the assimilation.

Haru turned her head to Suzuka, and "Suzuka," called her name.
