Chapter 10 – Visiting the Order of Knights Part 1

I spent the whole morning piercing Camila's throat until she couldn't speak anymore. She finished cleaning me up angrily, only to have to get dressed later. I left the mansion and walked towards the order of chivalry.

On the way, I could only see houses and two floors' buildings made entirely of concrete or stone. The streets were paved with stones, but people looked sad and discouraged. I even got a few hateful looks coming from different points. From the remaining memories I learned that this town was called Yelowlake.

The city possessed a lake that turned yellow once a year. This lake possessed unique characteristics and it is said that if one submerges it will be able to increase the reserve of mana naturally. This city and lake didn't exist within the game. This was too strange as I knew the map like the back of my hand.

The only thing I recognized was the mansion where he lived. However, within the game it was just a ruin. To the north of those ruins there was a highly toxic and poisonous lake. If one entered its waters, one would be quickly reduced to bones.

This similarity did not go unnoticed in my mind. Maybe the game was a future or past scenario of this world. Without data, I wouldn't know where I was in history, so it was urgent to determine this. In the game, all dates were censored and no one could access that information.

Due to the city's proximity to the monster forest, a wall was erected surrounding the city. The high walls were a sign of strength for the people. To secure several routes, three exit and entry points of the city were created. Two were on the wall and one in my mansion as a hidden passage.

A tall building was built next to the city gates. These two buildings were the branches of the knightly order. Despite that, only the building at the north entrance was considered the headquarters.

The capital of the order must have been on guard at this place. These so-called knights were titles that a noble could bestow on a commoner. They were considered semi-noble and belonged to the lowest rung of the nobility.

Many didn't even consider them noble. The difference was that they could perform military merit more easily than a commoner and rise to become a true noble.

When I reached the entrance of the building, I could vaguely feel the auras of the people inside.

A mage was able to sense his surroundings only by relying on the disturbances of elemental energy. Since I wasn't a magician yet, I could only feel vaguely since the energy had already entered my body.

Based on my previous knowledge I was able to deduce that there were only 4 people inside the building and that they were weak. Without hesitation I approached the wooden door of the building and performed a kick that destroyed it instantly.

Immediately two guards reacted by drawing their swords and pointing them at me.

His words seemed stupid to me. They couldn't seem to recognize their lord. I should beat them up first.

-     Pointing their swords at a noble as knights is considered treason. Their punishment is the death penalty.

I immediately lunged at them. These soldiers weren't even wearing the regulation knight's gear. They wore white T-shirts with brown pants. The only thing that differentiated them from farmers was their swords.

They both tried to cut me, but their movements were very slow. Curious about it, I decided to spy on their statuses.

That state was really pathetic for a gentleman and the two seemed to be almost evenly matched. Not wanting to waste any time, I used my vampiric claws. Immediately my nails grew sharper.

With a quick flick of my wrists, the necks of the two guys were slit and blood poured all over the room. After their deaths, several announcements of the system echoed in my head.

Unlike the sweet smell of Camila's blood, this one was disgusting to me. Just out of curiosity I ran my tongue over my hand which still had a little blood on it.

The taste was like chewing tobacco, and the smell was reminiscent of stinky tofu. It was a weird mix but that's how it felt to me.

The noise immediately alerted the other two gentlemen upstairs. They hurried down the stairs, but the scenery they saw was truly gruesome.
