I could feel Vania smiling as she pumped the stats for the blade. Meanwhile, Duncan was shaking his head as he realized he had spent the past few Tocks getting an item only for it to be shattered in one Tick. But he didn't seem too angry and shrugged before smirking.
"Alright, I hear you... I'm going to show you more of my moves using the scythe," smiled Duncan as he dashed forwards to clash with Fabian.
"I've had enough of these charades... I am not going easy on you anymore," bellowed the wealthy Mage as he broke Duncan's threads with his explosive Elemental Energy.
Fabian quickly regrew his arm while standing up and snapped his fingers, causing an orb of white light to appear in his grasp. The ball morphed into a giant, white jousting lance with laces. I lowered my weapon to aim at the man; Duncan quickly put up his blade.
That pure white Lance could only mean one thing; Fabian is powerful enough to use Divine Weapons. No doubt, that white Lance emitting out such a pure Elemental Aura could only belong to the King of Knights. A weapon used against the evil dragon of Vortigern...
A weapon so powerful that it needs thirteen restraints and an entire business meeting with the voices of Round Table Knights. Created by the Lady of the Lake and Merlin's expertise, the Holy Lance of King Arthur is a Divine Weapon not to be messed with.
But I also had something that could rival the Holy Lance. One of the Grand Orders should do the trick... And perhaps I should fight fire with fire by using the same spell against Fabian. Oh... This is going to be fun... Vania, do I have enough to power this spell?
"Notice. Allocating resources to the needed functions... Approved. You have leveled up one rank after using Fifth Order, and stats have been increased. In addition, your bond with Duncan and the Ankou has risen by two points, gifting you several Experience Points that increased your rank."
"However... Be warned that the Grand Orders will be locked for the next Chime after using this spell as all will be on cooldown."
Hm... That shouldn't be a problem because I don't think anyone could recover from that monster of a spell. And if by some miracle Fabian survives it, I still have Duncan and the Ankou to back me up. So with everything set, the only thing left is to break the restraints.
Unfortunately... The Holy Lance needs at least half its restraints rescinded to work effectively against the enemy. And I pray to the gods that I've got enough Elemental Energy in me so I could power this one attack... But that's when things clicked with me as I looked around.
In the same way, Excalibur uses the dying wishes of soldiers to power its attack; the Holy Lance also gathers power from its surroundings. But because I do not own this weapon, I cannot use most of its properties like the Authority of the King or enhanced physical attributes.
I was going to use this weapon as a one-time attack. Typically, if I'd own a weapon such as my main sword, I can blast my enemies with any spell without losing the weapon. However, since I don't own the Holy Lance, I can only use it once because of the limitations.
Thus, I can't gather up Elemental Energy for the Lance, but I can do another method. A method that could be controversial if Duncan sees it, but I'm willing to take the chance. This place is counted as a forest, and I've asked Vania is see if there are signs of life around the area.
"Notice. I have highlighted the souls of the area. If you activate the Element Of Corruption's Skill, Devourance of Souls, you can convert those souls into Elemental Energy to fuel the Holy Lance of The King."
Will activating that Skill affects Duncan as well? Or will it only use the souls that I choose?
"Notice. The Devourance of Souls can only affect the lingering souls of the chosen area. However, as the place you are at still holds the remains of dead children, the Skill will use their souls first, and you may convert it to Elemental Energy to power the Holy Lance."
Hang on... How would that be the case? I thought the Fifth Order's destruction caused the entire mansion to be burned to cinders. Don't tell me Karna's Lance was not powerful enough to do the job. Because the area looks quite burned down!
Like when my mother tried to toast the bread by putting the bread and the serviette into the toaster! How in the world did that inferno not burn every child's bones to ashes?!
