"The metal used to forge that sword was of the highest grade at the time. More dazzling than sterling silver, Clarent was meant to be used in declaring the succession to the throne."
"You were known in history for stealing it during the rebellion, where you were granted temporary kingship of Camelot. The Merit within that blade was called the King's Child, which could enhance its user's physical strength and Elemental Energy Output."
"But the King must see the person as the next heir to the throne for those statistics to work. Unfortunately, Mavislin took it and shoved it to you," replied the Valkyrie as Mordred looked at her blade.
"So this thing... Didn't Mav craft it? Then... I've been using the King's weapon to fight for all this time?!"
"Yes, but it shouldn't be a problem. I mean, that thing is still a monster because it has the Valokian Authority and can force judgment upon those deemed fit to die... So why are you so worked up about it?" questioned Mavislin.
"No! You don't get it... I thought Mav had crafted this for me... It was the only memory of her I held onto for so long."
"That must mean you don't hate her enough to kill her."
But Mavislin saw the Knight's reaction and laughed before lunging towards her. Mordred grabbed her blade and defended herself, managing to hold her ground.
"I never hated her... I'm just upset and angry that she left me during my darkest days. I thought she would stay with me to the very end..."
The Valkyrie said nothing and held a blank expression before taking out her blade to knee Mordred in the stomach. The poor Knight went flying again, but she could land properly despite having internal bleeding.
Mavislin vanished and appeared beside Mordred, swinging her blade at the Knight's head. Mordred ducked by bending her back and flipped away, ensuring that Mavislin couldn't do a follow-up attack.
Now it was the Knight's turn to attack as she propelled herself to the Valkyrie with her glowing sword in hand. Mordred threw the blade at Mavislin, resulting in the Valkyrie deflecting the blade upwards. The Knight changed course and leaped upwards to catch her blade.
Mavislin merely looked up and used her sword to block the falling Knight's strike. However, as the Knight tried her best to get the upper hand on her opponent, Mavislin had the last laugh as her blade exploded into another spectrum of colors.
"Mystic Tales, Third Wing..." murmured the Valkyrie as the Knight panicked and tried to escape the blast.
But she tried, and Mordred found that Mavislin was using one hand to hold her in place. The Knight was shocked as she tried yanking her hand out, but it was too late.
"Blazing Waves of the Mountains," said Mavislin as red, blue, and brown Elemental Energy exploded in the Knight's face.
If Mordred hadn't put up her helmet at the right time, her face would've exploded into several different sections as the power of Mavislin's spell was enough to decimate the area around them.
But the attack wasn't done as Mordred found herself looking at several lines made from Fire Elemental Energy hurling downwards to her. Then, as the Knight turned tail and ran, she noticed that the line was intertwined with Water and Earth Elements.
When the spell struck the ground, it caused great explosions with water and fire flying outwards. Mordred had no choice but to stop running and face the Elements since they were on a chasing spree against her.
The Knight swung her sword around, slicing through the lines while destroying the background behind her. Then, after a particularly large torrent of Elements, Mordred found herself facing an attacking Valkyrie without the help of her weapon.
To Mavislin's surprise, Mordred dropped her sword and used both hands to catch the Valkyrie's sword, effectively halting the attack.
"Impressive... So what I've studied about you was right. You rely on instincts to fight rather than follow your code of chivalry. Even if it means sacrificing your limbs, you will do anything more to protect yourself than to be a true Knight."
"So now I know why you were regarded as a third-rate rather than a first-rate Knight. But that's alright because the Valkyries are the same when in combat..."
"We do not care for elegance as destruction is in our blood," said Mavislin as she tossed out her sword in favor of kicking Mordred away.
The Knight of Rebellion flew to the side and quickly landed back on the ground as her armor was fully replenished. Mordred looked at her hands to see if they were still there since the attack was too fast for her mind to process. Luckily, all digits were accounted for.
