Chapter 316

Theapan Kingdom,

Prince Chase was getting tired of listening to the nobles. During the time that his father was away he was left in charge of things. The nobles thought it was a chance to get close to the prince. Others however thought it was a chance to take advantage of him.

The stress was starting to get to him as he walked into the palace garden. A table and chairs were set out by some maid servants. Princess Isis was sitting there drinking tea as she awaited the prince. His chest felt strange at the sight of it.

Was this what it felt like to have family who waited for you? It was new for him and was taking him months to get use to.

It would be better if father was here... The thought crossed his mind before he started walking a little faster.

"Chase," Princess Isis stood up and hugged the young child to greet his arrival for tea, "Have you heard anything yet on your father?"

Chase halted at the sudden hug, he was still not use to others acting in such kind manners towards him, "No, there has not been any word yet."

"Are the nobles still bothering you?" Princess Isis asked worried.

The princess sat back down in her chair as she spoke to him. A cup of warm tea in front of her. There was a platter of sweets lay out before them on the table. The servants had worked hard for the both of them. In fact the princess's servants all cared for her despite who her father was.

Chase knew that she was only worried about him, "I can handle them."

"You do not have to hold back for my sake. I know how difficult things can become for a royal heir. Things are new for you, Chase. It is okay to admit to me if your feeling stressed." Princess Isis was worried that the child was holding things back from her. He was still young and learning how to be a prince for the kingdom. It would be strange if the child did not feel pressured by the rough nobles around him every day.

The prince seemed frustrated as he picked up his tea up, he just wanted to enjoy his break from the nobles, drinking his tea as he replied, "I'm not doing anything like that."

She sighed as the child seemed unwilling to discuss it with her. There was nothing she could do about it. The princess knew that the nobles were caught talking poorly of her becoming the queen in the future. Prince Chase had even been said to have scolded the nobles verbally over them talking poorly of King Vorbuk being willing to accept Princess Isis as queen.

It is impossible that Chase would be able to hold back if he caught the nobles talking poorly of his father and future mother. Princess Isis thought about it carefully. Perhaps it would be best to leave things alone for now.

"Your Highness, Princess Isis," Aoki's voice suddenly called out as he flipped himself upside down above the table in front of her. "I have come for something very important."

The vampire was hanging upside down above the table. His legs locked around a branch from the tree that was providing them shade.

How long has he been here? Was he spying on us? She pondered carefully and felt uncomfortable at the thought of it. What reason would the vampire possibly have for hiding in the tree above them both?

"Did something happen?" Princess Isis asked seriously.

Aoki looked as if he was thinking for a moment before responding, "No. I just need to borrow the little prince for some work."

"What-?" Princess Isis and Prince Chase were both confused at what Aoki was needing from him.

Prince Chase had no time to object to Aoki about going with him. There was no time to even consider before he started ushering the young prince to leave the garden with him. It seemed like the matter was urgent. He could only agree to Aoki and stand up. Leaving with him side by side.

"What did you need me for?" Prince Chase asked as they walked back towards the palace.

"Ah." Aoki paused before saying, "I have nothing actually."

"Then what are you doing?!" Prince Chase's voice got harsh as he spoke. A slight growling sound as if the tiger inside the child was angry with the vampire for lying to him.

Aoki hesitated to ask, "Would you like to try something fun?"

"Something fun?" Prince Chase asked curious about what the vampire had in mind.

Aoki smiled at the young prince, "Why don't we head to the knights training ground?"

"You want to train?" Prince Chase sighed.

"What?" Aoki refuted, "No! We are going to help the other knights train."

Prince Chase was confused as he followed Aoki towards the training grounds. He was not sure what Aoki was intending to do with the other knights. How as he going to help them train? The young prince had no idea how Aoki was intending to have fun.

The vampire could see the confusion on the child's face and explained a bit with a finger to his lips to signal it as meant to be secret, "I will show you my special ability. You must keep it a secret though."

"What is your special ability?" Prince Chase asked the vampire.

He hesitated to respond to the prince as his ability was something he had little fond memories of using, it was something that had caused others to go into a frenzy and run lab tests on him, his expression went blank as he thought about it, "A type of curse that I have to live with..."

Prince Chase paused his steps causing the vampire to stop and turn around towards him. The tiger had no words to words to say to the vampire. He could see the pain hidden behind those beautiful pink eyes.

"Heh." Aoki laughed slightly. He truly felt like his life had been cursed since the moment he was born. There had been many things in his life that taught him to fight for his survival.

Chase asked him, the vampire truly had something about him that stood out above all else, "It has something to do with your eyes?"

"You could say that." Aoki answered honestly.

The vampire found the child unique. There was something about the young prince that made him what to be honest about himself. He could not lie in front of the child. It felt strange.

Is it because he is part god? Aoki pondered. He wanted to know more about that part of the child. The young prince had no idea that he could manipulate someone into being honest when he asked him questions. It felt like his own ability was being mirrored right back at himself.

The best person to ask about the powers of the child would be the priestess... But she would never accept giving me answers. She would only report about it to the king. Aoki thought to himself as he wondered if there was an idea. The more he was about the young prince the more he got curious about his abilities.
