Chapter 168

King Luke kept his distance from the tomb of the executioner while his men moved according to the instructions he'd given them. The cold night air blowing through the trees as his ears flicked back at the sound of a knight approaching.

"We haven't heard anything back about the men who entered the tomb. Should we send someone to investigate what happened inside, your majesty?"

"No," King Luke stopped the knight from sending anyone else inside the tomb. "I already expected this to happen."

"Your majesty?" The knight was confused by the words of King Luke.

The men that had entered The Executioner's tomb had not sent word back on their situation. Something wrong had gone down inside the tomb. Nobody was coming out and nobody else was being sent to investigate. King Luke had a dreadful look on his face but did not show a hint of surprise. He had already expected those who came in contact with the executioner to die.

"Just make sure everyone does their duty and lures him towards the temple. I will take responsibility for whatever happens." The King sighed showing his concern.

"Are you certain he wont agree to meet with you, your majesty?" The knight asked him.

"Of course," King Luke was aware of how stubborn the vampire was. "He would probably rather kill me if I was to appear in front of him directly. Have you ever met a starving vampire?"

"No, sir." The knight had never met a vampire that had been starved of food.

The king thought back to a conversation he had with Chynir before he left the palace to come to the tomb to find the vampire.

"No matter what someone says to him while he is starving after sleeping for all those years he wont be interested in listening. His instincts are going to be screaming at him to find food. Anything he can eat that gets in front of him will become like lamb before a wolf. If it is something he can not eat but gets in his way it will most likely be ripped to shreds. All you need to do is make sure the direction of his path when he wakes up leads him directly towards that temple." Chynir's voice had been direct and his words were cruel as he spoke about using the knights as bait. Those had been words ordered to the king from the god, Chynir.

Let's just hope he stops after massacring the temple. King Luke thought internally as he felt a pain in his chest. Gritting his teeth he waited for the vampire to exit the temple.

It is impossible to ask for forgiveness for doing something so terrible. The world and even the heavens may never forgive for what is intended by waking such a being. No matter how much the king wanted to ask for forgiveness it would be impossible. There was no going back for him anymore. No salvation could be given to him after the things he'd done for the god that reached out to him.

The more he thought about the situation in front of him it made him think of the lives lost. No matter how heavy the burden was to carry he was willing to do it. As long as the guarantee for him was the safety of his daughter, Princess Isis.

"We best hope that we can contain whatever damage comes in the future." The King said while considering how much damage could be caused.

Inside the tomb a group of knights corpses scattered about the floor.

Blood splattered the room as a man stood with his vampire fangs exposed. Gently sniffing the air as his brow twitched. The scent was enough to make his stomach upset. His tomb smelt of werewolf blood. It was the one type of blood that vampires disliked most.

His pink eyes were like jewels that sparkled under the light of the moon as he slowly made his way outside the tomb. His silver hair shining under the light of the night had a neon green under tone that made his eyes all the more noticeable. His clothes were white and black with a golden trim. Covering half his face was a white and gold mask.

"So hungry." He muttered under his breath as he could smell the king's knights scattered in front of him. They mostly were made up of werewolves as Theapan was known as the kingdom of werewolves. A werewolf was not something he could eat so he focused his mind towards the direction of something edible.

Blood... He desired blood.

After sleeping for so long he was starving the moment he awoke. The only thing on his mind was to quickly find something to eat.

"S-Sir! Our king would like to meet with you." A knight called out to the executioner nervously.

The knight's nerves were a mess because everyone knew the man was dangerous. Flinching as the man turned in his direction. It felt like his heart was pounding against his chest telling him to run. The vampires focus seemed to go past him into the distance where the king stood out of reach. Their king's life could not be put at risk to wait directly at the tomb itself.

"Ah~" The executioner smiled as he lifted his dagger up into the air towards the knight playfully. "How about I kill you~ Then I kill that king of yours~"

"How impudent!" Another knight shouted from the distance.

"You woke me up so you should at least entertain me." He laughed at the knights in front of him like he had lost his mind.

"What-!"

His movements were too fast to follow. With the danger in his hand the vampire swept forward in an instance. The blade of his dagger piercing the heart of the knight right through the armor. The executioner's brute force was worse then a bull. Unlike Ashley who used blood magic to create a weapon; The Executioner preferred to fight with a dagger and brute strength. If he was faced with a fight he enjoyed letting himself run wild like a bull in a figurine shop.

"Run-!" "He's on a rampage-!"

The executioner darted from one knight to another. His danger sweeping through the knights with his movements. They did not all die instantly. Some of the knights would be sliced into bits and pieces with swift movements from the blade of the executioner. Scattering in parts across the ground as the vampire's cold gaze scanned his surroundings.

He was like a hunter on the move as he crossed the mountains. No werewolf could keep up with his speed as he rushed forward. Every time his blade would slice someone down his nose worked like a beast to inhale the scent of blood in the air. He was starving and on the hunt for something edible. The scent of the werewolf blood as he fought was only making him more agitated as he found more and more that he could not devour.

Thump! Thump! Thump!

His heart began to beat wildly as his senses caught wind of the vast number of people in the distance. The scent carried in the wind was from several mortal races. With a slight twitch he turned his direction towards the temple.
