Chapter 1IMMORTALITY OF MULTICELLULAR ORGANISMS

IMMORTALITY OF MULTICELLULAR ORGANISMS

I have known for a while that Living Organisms need energy to work and that a vast amount of the energy needed to work by these Living Organisms is produced by the Sun, absorbed by Plants, eaten by animals and converted to Heat, Chemical, and Mechanical Energy which is regulated by the bodies of Living Organisms.

I have also been aware of the theory governing Hibernation of some Living Organisms during Winter where they slow their metabolism to a crawl, halt their body functions by sealing off some of their higher brain functions and thus fall into a sleep like state.

There are some Living Organisms that take this to an extreme entering a Zombie-like state between Life and Death in extreme conditions. These creatures are called extremophiles.

However, I also learned that these extremophiles are mostly unicellular organisms and this state would be unlikely to be replicated in multicellular organisms due to their more complex structure however, I have seen this state being exhibited by some species of frogs which are multicellular organisms. (Thank NatGeo for that!)

Then there is the quantum mechanical phenomenon where particles begin to exhibit Wave-like properties at extremely low temperatures namely Absolute Zero. This caused me to wonder if there is a connection between the Transition Of Particles to Waves at Absolute Zero and the seeming 'immortality' of these Living Creatures at extremely Low Temperatures. Since Living Cells are also made of atoms, that would mean that extremely low temperatures could cause them to exhibit the property of Waves as well. In other words, the atoms or particles in these Living Cells should be able to transition into Waves under certain conditions. Like the body being converted into a spiritual form (Lolz).

However, I was still confronted by the problem that this phenomenon was mostly exhibited by Unicellular(Lolz, you'll get the joke later) Living Organisms (though I have heard of this trait being exhibited by cold blooded frogs! Trolololz).

Bears to an extent exhibit this phenomenon during Winter so two things came to mind. One of them was the theory of the Conservation Of Energy (where energy is conserved). By slowing their metabolism to a crawl, bears utilize their remaining energy in the most efficient manner possible but different(multicellular) organs would require different amounts of energy to function properly so the energy would be spread over the body in a disparate manner.

I have thus concluded that this disparity in energy distribution amongst the organs in Multicellular Organisms must to an extent(a large extent) contribute to the complexity behind the reason as to their apparent 'Mortality' and why they can't access this so called 'Immortality' of 'Unicellular' Organisms. (I hope by now you've got the joke. If you haven't you'll really hate yourself later).

Then like a bolt from the blue, a sudden thought occurred to me (actually from a Dream about a clock counting down), could the answer possibly be in both Quantum and Classical Mechanics? In Quantum Mechanics, the answer would be in the phenomena of Quantum Entanglement and the Transition Of Particles into Waves at extremely low temperatures (or via some other phenomena possibly). However, in Classical Mechanics, the solution to the problem might lie in the theory of Equilibrium! (You better get it the first time 'cos I'm not gonna repeat myself!)

In Physics, it's said 'Equilibrium is when forces acting on a body are equal and the system does not change' (Coincidentally).

In Chemistry, 'Equilibrium is a condition in which the proportion of the chemicals reacting together and the products being formed is constant(do you get it?!) and the products being formed is constant because the rate or speed of the forward reaction is the same as the rate of the reverse reaction'. (Definitions From Geddes And Grosset Science Dictionary).

It is also said that Equilibrium is affected by changes in pressure, temperature and concentration but is not affected by the addition of a catalyst which only affects the speed of the reaction.

So I thought what if the Living Cells were put in a state where their particles begin to exhibit the property of Waves, then through the phenomena of Entanglement, the entire cell or group of cells is placed in a state of Equilibrium? (Now wouldn't that be interesting to see. Mad Scientist Mode Activated!)

Would that be enough to bypass the complexities caused by multicellular organisms that were hindering them from achieving the 'Immortal State' of Unicellular Organisms?

Ashes Of Deep Sea

Duncan Abnomar was transmigrated to a magical world. Most of the lands of the world had sunken, and the surviving humans could only live on islands. Due to an unknown reason, the world was also contaminated and strange phenomena and things would randomly appear. Humans had developed steam gear technology, and the islands were connected through boats. They survived by studying strange phenomena that happened all around the world. However, as the captain of a scary-looking ghost ship, Duncan was facing a huge challenge. "How the heck do I steer this ship?" Highly recommended by experienced editor: MC is transmigrated to a world mostly covered in water and far from civilization. He becomes the captain of the ghost ship, the 'Homeloss'. He steers through the fog and adventures through the broken world and the unknown deep sea. As he discovers the ruins of abandoned civilization, he would also stumble into the war between the strange phenomena and the devil gods. The story takes place in a combination of ocean and Chutly mythology world, a new and interesting background. It’s an attractive story to read due to the author’s sense of humor and mastery over the ambiance of the story. --------------- Another-style introduction: "On that day, a thick fog engulfed everything. On that day, he became the captain of a ghost ship. On that day, he crossed the dense fog and faced a completely overturned and shattered world – the former order was completely gone, and peculiar phenomena dominated the endless seas beyond civilized society. The island city-states and the fleets challenging the sea have become the only lights of civilization left, while the shadows of old days still lurk in the deep sea, waiting to devour this dying world again. But for the new captain, there's only one pressing question – Does anyone know how to sail this damn ship?!"

Intergalactic conquest with an AI

Rex was just another slave in the corporate machine, a faceless office worker under the shadow of one of the galaxy's powerful megacorps. His life was predictable and dull, an endless cycle of meaningless reports and fluorescent-lit monotony. That was, until that day.... When a new world was discovered on the outskirts of the galaxy, Rex, like countless other low-ranking employees, found himself dragged into a contract clause he’d barely skimmed years ago. The megacorp ordered him and his coworkers to pack their lives into a transport pod and leave for the unexplored planet. Their mission? Establish a colony. Mine resources. Make the company richer. There was no choice, refusing meant ruin. At first, everything seemed manageable. The days were grueling, the nights cold, but progress was steady. The colony was coming to life. Until the excavation team struck something. No one knew what it was at first, a buried hive, a forgotten ecosystem, or something ancient and dangerous. Whatever it was, it unleashed hell. Swarms of enormous, chittering creatures erupted from the ground, their jagged bodies blotting out the sky. The colony fell into chaos. Screams echoed through the air as the bugs tore through everything in their path, walls, machines, and people. Rex barely survived. Bloodied, broken, and pinned beneath the rubble, he should have died there. But in the pitch-black silence of his fading consciousness, a voice spoke to him. Cold. Mechanical. Otherworldly. "Do you wish to live?" When Rex woke, he was no longer the man he’d been. His body was no longer human flesh and bone but something far more alien. His skin shimmered with living metal, his mind infused with the power of Cleo, a mysterious AI from a long-extinct, robotic race known as the Kaelzars. Cleo’s presence pulsed through his thoughts, guiding him and transforming him. He wasn’t just alive. He was reborn. But survival came at a price. Rex was no longer a pawn of the megacorp; he was something more dangerous, something they couldn’t control. As Cleo’s intentions began to reveal themselves, Rex found himself standing on the precipice of war, not just with the bugs but with forces far greater than he could have imagined. This was the beginning of a journey through blood-soaked battlefields and treacherous alliances. Along the way, Rex would encounter allies, brilliant, flawed, and unpredictable, and enemies whose ambitions were as sharp as their blades. These weren’t disposable foes, easily crushed by an overpowered hero. They were cunning, relentless, and human in the most terrifying ways. But then again, in war, who can truly be called a villain?
