INSIDER LEAK Daniel Adler's New Book!

Hey Adlerholics,

I work at Infinite World Publishing and recently got my hands on a draft of Daniel Adler's upcoming book. It's a significant shift from his previous works. Check out this excerpt and let me know what you think. I can't reveal too much, but this is one of the more intense scenes.

This has to be fake. Daniel Adler writes Percy Jackson, not whatever this is.

PercyLover22

Yeah, this doesn't seem like Daniel's style at all. Seems way too dark and ughhh...it's so uncomfortable to read.

MagicQuill23

Honestly, I hope it's not true. I love Daniel's books because they're light and adventurous, not so grim and rapey like this.

UpFan12

Actually, I don't mind the change. Authors grow and evolve. Maybe it's time for something new and different from him.

Master87

Guys, it's called growing as a writer. I'd be excited to see him tackle more mature themes.

TrolHter78

Lol, this is fanfic-level trash. Definitely not Adler's work.

Queenofolympous84

If this is real, the what the fuck Daniel ew.. ew.. ew..

PercyForever

Nah, this just doesn't sit right with me. Percy Jackson is perfect as it is. No need for this kind of stuff.

Littanye301

FAKE!!!

RavenClaw08

The writing style does seem a bit off from what we're used to from him idk i think it's fake.

OMG, someone posted an excerpt from Daniel Adler's new book on a forum, and it's so fucked up.

DragonLord456:

Wow, this is a huge shift. I don't know if I like it. Percy Jackson is so light and fun, this is... intense.

PercyFanForever:

This can't be real. It doesn't even sound like Daniel's writing. Someone's pulling our leg.

Bookworm_Goddess:

Why would he change genres like this? I was hoping for more Percy Jackson or something similar.

Fantasia_Lover:

I'm open to new things, but this just doesn't sit right with me. It feels off-brand for Daniel.

PhoeQuill:

No way this is real. Someone's just trying to stir up drama. Daniel would never write something like this.

appolomuse:

I actually like the idea of him trying something new.

Pertmisforvera:

I just want more Percy Jackson. Is that too much to ask? This feels like a betrayal.

HEstia32:

Calling it now, this is a fake. Nice try, though. The writing doesn't match his style at all.

G@ldenFleece:

If this is the direction he's going, I might have to pass.

MortalScribe:

I don't believe it. This has to be a hoax. Until it's confirmed by Daniel himself, I'm not buying it.

Paetaales:

This is disappointing if it's true.

OceanEyes:

I'm actually kind of excited to see him tackle darker themes. It might be a refreshing change.

HeroOfOlympus:

Nope. Not buying it. This is just someone trying to get attention. Show me proof, then we'll talk.

I read through the comments under the post I made in my largest fan forum and reposts on other social media, the confidence I had was replaced with frustration and uncertainty.

I glanced at my phone, which was lighting up with texts from Lucy.

Lucy: "Daniel, what the hell were you thinking?!"

Lucy: "Call me ASAP!!!"

Lucy: "We need to talk. Now."

"Oh, she is not happy," I muttered to myself.

Fifty percent of my fanbase did not believe the excerpt was from me, while the others were either supportive or negative about it.

I was sitting by the pool in my house. John, Matt, and Lucia were in the pool, splashing around and enjoying the sun. John was floating on his back, Matt was trying to balance on an inflatable raft, and Lucia was diving gracefully into the water. Joanna sat next to me, looking at me with concern.

"So, what are you going to do?" Joanna asked, breaking the silence.

"I don't know," I replied.

"Maybe they were right," Joanna suggested gently. "Maybe you should wait a few years. Maybe focus on movies for now."

After reading the responses from the leak, I had gone from being adamant about releasing the book to considering the advice of my team. I laughed, realizing how my ego had gotten in the way and how I once prided himself on being free of it.

I stood up abruptly. "I gotta go," he said.

"Where are you going?" Matt asked from the pool, his arms draped over the edge.

"I'm going to face the consequences of my actions—a very blond, angry agent," I replied, my tone light despite the situation. "I'll be back in a few hours."

I left the house, driving through the city with my mind racing to find a way to release the book. The streets were busy with afternoon traffic and as I stopped at a red light, an idea suddenly struck me.

It was a great idea, one that could solve everything but I would have to make some compromises.

My thoughts were suddenly interrupted by the sound of car horns behind me. I looked up, realizing the light had turned green. I quickly moved the car forward, a huge smile spreading across my face.

I just needed to calm Lucy down and explain this new idea to her.

'Maybe I should have run it by her first,' I thought grimly as I drove towards the office, hoping she would see the potential in my plan.

==============

I arrived at Lucy's office. I stepped inside, putting on a nervous smile. "Hey," I said.

Lucy and Raj were waiting for me. Lucy greeted me with a tone that was deceptively cheerful, her mouth forming a smile, but her eyes clearly conveying displeasure. Raj, on the other hand, was calm and collected, likely accustomed to handling rich celebrities doing impulsive things. He must have a few plans ready to deal with any fallout.

"Hey, Daniel," Lucy said, her voice sweet but her gaze sharp.

"Daniel," Raj echoed, his tone even.

Lucy walked over and gave me a light, but firm, hit on the head. "Oww," I said, holding my head.

"What were you thinking?" Lucy exclaimed.

"I was not... Look, it's not a big deal," I replied, trying to downplay the situation.

"Not a big deal? I thought someone in the office was leaking things to the media!" Lucy ranted. She paced back and forth, her frustration evident. "You know how hard we've worked to build up your image, to keep everything under control. And you just... you just throw it all away with a careless post!"

"Lucy, Lucy," I called out, trying to get her attention.

"What is it, Danny?" she asked, her eyes blazing with fury.

"It's not a big deal. It can be easily disproved, right?" I said, looking at Raj for confirmation.

"Yes, I have been telling her that for the last few hours," Raj said, maintaining his calm demeanor.

"See? No problem," I said, feeling slightly relieved.

Lucy was about to launch into another tirade, but I held up my hand. "Just let me finish," I said.

"Fine," Lucy said, sitting down on the couch nearby, her arms crossed.

I sat down next to her. "I agree with you," I began. "I agree with you all," I said, looking at her and then to Raj. "I leaked the edited chapter to test the waters and..."

"And?" Lucy asked, leaning in.

"You were right. They are not ready. I should have listened to you from the start," I said.

"Very surprising, Mr. Adler," Raj said. "Unlike my previous clients, you at least have the ability to know when you are wrong."

I nodded. "But I am not finished. I have another proposition for you."

Lucy looked intrigued. "Go on," she said.

I stood up. "We will release the book," I said.

"Daniel," Lucy interrupted.

"No, no, I am not finished," I said. "We release the book under a pseudonym, a fake name. Many authors have done it before because they like to try something new."

Lucy stared at me for a while.

"That is... wow... why didn't I think of that?" Lucy said, her interest piqued.

"Me too," Raj said, sounding a bit embarrassed.

"Maybe in a few years, when you feel like I am ready, we can reveal it was me all along. I really want this series out there. I have plans for it, Lucy. Big money-making plans," I said.

"This can work. Great idea, Mr. Adler," Raj said.

"Are you okay with this?" Lucy asked. "You have already been telling everyone that you have been working on something. They expect it this year."

"I just want the book out there. I don't care if the name Daniel Adler is on it... one day people will know it's me. And for a new book, I have some ideas," I said.

Lucy nodded her anger fading away.

"Fine, let's do this. What name do you want to use?" Lucy asked.

"Aha, I have just the one for you," I said, a smile spreading across my face.
