I have an idea

Excited by the prospect of helping this orphanage, I thanked them warmly. This cause was really close to my heart, and I felt like I had found a way to make a real difference. I went to brush my teeth then shower, letting myself be carried away by the hot water which soothed my tired muscles.

Under the jet of water, an idea suddenly popped into my mind. What if I used this charity event to test Koen? It was a great idea! The person who donates the most would win a day with me. Not only would this increase the funds raised for the orphanage, but it would also allow me to see how determined Koen was to prove to me that he was worth it.

Coming out of the shower, refreshed and full of enthusiasm, I quickly dressed and rushed to the kitchen where Meridia and her husband were still checking the details of the announcement.

-I have a brilliant idea!, I exclaimed, barely able to contain my excitement.

They looked up at me, intrigued.

-Tell us everything, said Meridia with a smile.

-What if we organized a competition for this charity event? The person who donates the most would win a day with me. This would encourage more people to donate, and it could be a great way to test Koen as well.

My manager and Meridia exchanged a knowing look, then a mischievous smile appeared on their lips.

-If the announcement is true, it's a brilliant idea, replied Meridia, it could attract a lot of attention and maximize donations

And this will also allow you to see if Koen is ready to fight for you in a meaningful way, added her husband with a laugh.

I felt a wave of satisfaction wash over me. Not only would I be able to help these children, but I would also find out how far Koen was willing to go to prove his worth to me.

-Thanks to you two. Really. You are the best, I said with a grateful smile.

-We will finish verifying the authenticity of the ad and organize all this. In the meantime, try to relax a little, Meridia advised me.

I nodded, grateful for their unfailing support. As they got back to work, I sat at the table, my mind buzzing with excitement and anticipation.

-And by tonight my album will be finished, I said suddenly

-About Donovan?, he asked me

We all start laughing, and I start thinking that I wish my parents were like them. Everything would be so much easier.

After waiting a while.

-Good news, he announced. "The announcement appears to be authentic. But as a precaution, it would be wise to make an unannounced visit to the orphanage to ensure their legitimacy."

A feeling of relief came over me.

-Great, can we go today?

He shook his head with an apologetic smile.

-Unfortunately, not today. You have an appointment to get your hair cut this afternoon, and you know how difficult this hairdresser is to book.
