Chapter 58: Lifeless Birthday

It was a mildly cold day. Months have passed after the commotion. Frode is still under custody, yet his family knows nothing about it. Erland once again, went to visit the Southwick siblings.

"It's a pleasure to know that you feel rested here. I'm glad you come here more often." said Mathew as he poured tea on a cup. He handed Erland the cup and sat down.

"The pleasure is all mine. I have nothing much to do at home after all. Dad is mostly working and mom...is gone. Others just hang around outside doing this and that or just resting in the house." said Erland.

Mathew laughed. "Reasonable I would say."

Erland took a small sip of tea. "I am thinking of my sister's engagement with Ceol. You should know him by now."

"Isn't that the job of your father to do?"

"But she is my sister after all. I can see her being ready for the very day." Erland looked around looking for Astrid. He then asked,

"Where is Astrid? I rarely see her."
