Chapter 50: It did go wrong (4)

The four of them regrouped in formation as Cao Guang opened a bottle of medicine he had and finished the bottle in single gulp. 

Cao Guang reassessed the situation and asked Little Flame Belle to take on two weaker Warriors instead, while Fenrir kept another busy.

The group was left with a more manageable four Warriors in a matter of seconds. "They are on to us, they probably wanted to intercept the advanced mages from attacking their leader. Good thing we took out the strongest pack first" Luo Heng assessed as Cao Guang began to speak.

"Let's finish this as fast as possible, our advantage is gone if Squad 16 was killed. We don't know how long it will Advanced mages to kill commanders. What we need to avoid now is getting cornered like rats." 

Gao Xuan activated his innate soul seed to the limit as the ground around the beast turned swampy making their movements sluggish.

Song Xia used Death Song to cause serious damage to a Warrior using this chance as Cao Guang and Luo Heng bought her more time. Their advantages were obvious as Luo Heng could use more than double the amount of Intermediate spells as a normal mage.

Just like Song Xia, his talent shined the higher his realm was, if he became a Super mage he would be able spam spells like it's nobody's business. Song Xia on the other hand would directly acess second tier Super spells on breaking through. As for Fourth tier Super spells, they would be a spectacle. Besides her talent applied to every element she had just like Luo Heng's.

Cao Guang just spammed his fourth tier Basic spells to reduce the number of minions that Gao Xuan pooled together. After a couple Lightning Strikes and Fire Bursts the Minions were non existent.

They could focus solely on the Warriors now. Song Xia connected another Sound Star Nebula as Death Song spread out from her towards her enemy. 

The vibrations caused the beast excruciating pain before it died. Song Xia had the most killing ability after Cao Guang in the group. Even Advancing Warriors would be injured if a suitable third tier intermediate spell hit them.

Unfortunately for her dark magic had no soul seeds, if they did her shadow spells would be even more potent. As for dimensional magic Soul seeds existed but were rarer than Heavenly seeds of elemental magic.

Gao Xuan had been searching for spirit grade seeds of Light element, and he had found a few but decided no to buy and pool his resources. 

Soul remnants flooded the Little Tora pendant as it's ability to extract Soul Remnants improved after it improved to Star Nebula level. It's ratio for conversion to Soul Essences were much better as well.

Every living being had a Soul Essence, however there existed no Soul Containers that could extract every dead beings souls. Even the Little Tora pendant in it's highest form could only achieve eighty percent sucess with every Soul Remnants.

A couple more Soul Essences formed in it's Inner world as Cao Guang concluded the bloodbath and focused more on stronger enemies. 

Fenrir ran amok in front of its opponent and turned into a shadow as it broke through its limits and turned to an afterimage and struck at the Blood Tabi Beast killing it in three strike before helping his sister out with a smug smile.

It has broken through to the Great warrior level. Humans weren't the only beings who could break through during a pinch. Fenrir's heart was in it's mouth when he saw his master being ambushed, it had then taken on a stronger opponent and managed to kill it after breaking through. 

Cao Guang's squad quickly routed the remaining Blood Tabi Beasts as the domino effect piled on the beast. Each free member of the squad piled on the creatures and gave them a swifter death.

Gao Xuan directly fell to the ground after the battle. Through out the battle it was his responsibility to protect his teammates while also exerting his soul seed to control the environment. 

After their equipment ran out, only Cao Guang had any ability to protect himself while Song Xia could evade with a Fleeing Shadow, Luo Heng was a sitting duck.

Song Xia listened in to the receiver as a message came through, Captain Huo's team of advanced mages had slain their commander and begun helping other teams to pile the pressure on the Ruler quickly.

The whole mission had taken them twenty five minutes and two confrontations from the beginning. As far their mission was concerned it was flawless. It remained to be seen how it would go for other teams.
