†TRAPPED†

They turned a corner, the city shifting around them like a maze,

The damaged buildings seeming to close in, casting long shadows, the air was thickened with tension as they ran.

"Aaahhh!" Aria suddenly screamed as her legs got struck by the creature's sharp leg, the sound of fabric ripping and bone crushing filled the air.

Ryan's head snapped towards her with horror, the creature had used the buildings at an advantage to catch up to them.

"Fuck!" Ryan bellowed, his voice echoing off the walls.

He raised his loaded gun, the metal glinting in the fading light and fired point blank at the creature's face.

The sound of gunfire echoed off the walls, the sound wave harsh in the air.

The creature's head jerked back, with momentary surprise.

But it didn't die,It didn't even flinch.

Instead, the creature removed its claw-like leg that was embedded in Aria's leg, tearing the flesh even more.

Aria's eyes went wide with terror as she gazed upon another creature coming out from the shadows.

Its eyes glowing with hunger too, Its body twisted with two holes in its shoulder side that was obviously fired from a gun.

"Oh God," she whispered, as she tried to move her injured leg.

Ryan's looked to where her eyes are and saw it, the creature was the one, he had fired twice at, at that abandoned hotel.

"Move slowly," Ryan said as the creature's eyes were not on her but Aria's panic overrode her pain as she scrambled backward quickly with her injured leg.

The creatures eyes snapped to her direction.

"Shit!" he shouted, quickly wrapping his arm around her waist, holding her close.

"When I say something" he bellowed"You listen", his breath was hot against her ear.

The creature charged, its speed breathtakingly fast, eating up the distance with an unnatural speed.

Ryan swiftly turned Aria, who was already tieing her injured leg , to his back, her body molding to his as he prepared to flee.

"Hold me tight!" he shouted, above the creature's roar.

Aria's arms wrapped around his neck, desperate.

Her injured leg bouncing against his lower back, the pain evident in her tense muscles but she endured it.

Ryan could feel her warm breath on his skin, her terrified whispers disturbing in his ear.

"Oh God, oh God," she whispered.

Ryan's grip on her thighs tightened, securing her in place.

"Secured?" he yelled.

The creature closed in, its jaws wide open, revealing rows of razor-sharp teeth and Ryan launched into a sprint to the other side.

Aria's grip on his neck tightened, her face buried in his shoulder.

Ryan zigzagged through the deserted streets, dodging overturned cars.

A creature was at their back and the other jumping from roof to roof, The creatures followed them unrelenting.

Aria's voice muffled against Ryan's shoulder.

"How do they die?" she asked.

Ryan's breathing was heavy "They don't"he replied, jumping over a crashed car and kept running.

The creature up cleared the car, landing with a thud but kept coming.

Ryan spotted a narrow alley, a potential refuge to hide.

He dove into it, the creature mere steps behind them.

Tight space, that was Ryan's advantage.

Tight space, that was Ryan's advantage. The narrow alley, sandwiched between two the buildings help them to stop the creature attack, limiting its movement to reach them.

Ryan sprinted down the alley with Aria clinging to his back. The pain was radiating through out her entire body, but she just gritted her teeth, refusing to slow Ryan.

A forgotten car, that still looked better than the others aria had seen since, was parked.

"Look," Aria whispered, hot against Ryan's ear, her voice barely audible over the creature's snarls.

"The car."

Ryan looked towards it."Too old to be useful," he muttered, his gaze lingering on the car's rusted hood.

"Grrrrr!" the creature jammed its head at the entrance of the alley, its jaws snapping wildly, foam salivas dripping from its sharp teeth.

Ryan and Aria were momentarily safe, sheltered from the creature's deadly claws as they caught their breath in the narrow alley.

But their rest was short-lived when "Bang!" A loud thud echoed through the alley.

Aria's eyes widened in horror as she saw the car she had noticed earlier, was now crumpled beneath the weight of another creature.

"Fuck!" She cursed with panic.

They had forgotten about the other one, the creature that had been jumping from roof to roof.

The creature's landing crushed the car's hood, damaging it more.

Aria's grip on Ryan's neck tightened."We forgot," she whispered.

Ryan's jaw clenched, "Hold tight" he said, adding speed to his run.

The creature at the alley entrance jammed its head against the wall again.

"Grrrrrrr" its teeth still dripping with foam salivas.

Ryan and Aria sprinted toward the alley's end.

The second creature springed out from the car, Landed with a thud again on the ground.

Ryan could feel its hot breath washing over them, reminded that how fast it was.

They reached the alley's end, expecting to find a pathway to safety, instead, they were met with a dead end.

No exit.

"Hell nah," Ryan whispered with frustration.

Aria's grip on his neck tightened, her nails digging into his skin.

"What now?" she asked.

Ryan's eyes scanned the area, frantically searching for an alternative.

The creatures closed in, their roar echoing off the walls while Aria's terrified whispers echoing in Ryan's ear.

Their escape seemed impossible, they were trapped with two creatures waiting to devour them both.
