62. Talking with Cal

I watch her closely and Whitehall notices. When he asks, I smile and say "She is nice to look at"

After 4 missions in 3 days, i finally had some time to rest and it was at this time during a night when I was jogging on the treadmill Cal approached me.

"What can I do for you Cal?" I ask but don't stop running.

"You say that you knew Coulson's team like a family" Cal asked

"I did" I keep running knowing where this is going.

He seems to hesitate as if not knowing how to ask something, so I ignore it and wait.

"Coulson's team. There is a young woman on the team. I believe you know her as Skye." Cal clears his throat and looks at me with a smile he can't keep off his face.

I frown at him while using me Observation Haki to make sure that no one is around the room , the cameras won't be able to hear us so they won't matter. After making sure that know was around I push the stop button while nodding my head and picking up my towel to wipe out me sweat.

"How did she— How long — What can you tell me about her?" It seems like can't figure out what he wants to know more.

I have memories of real Grant with Skye and whatever interaction I had with her did help in understanding her character though the 3 seasons I watched also helped a little.

"Skye? She is the best hacker we got?" I said while getting of the treadmill.

Cal's smile widens "I mean her personality"

I take a drink and finally give him what he wants "Skye, is like nobody I have ever known. She has had a hard life but she sees the good in people. She stays positive and hopeful. She's funny and smart but also stubborn something no one can do anything about though her stubbornness did save the life of the team so can't say it's bad but not good either. She is brave and likes when people are honest with each other, she didn't liked SHIELD because of all the secrets we kept, though she has started to learn that not all things can be told truthfully except the few and she wants herself and those she care about to be part of the few."

I stop when I see his expression change, though I am not sure what's the reason. I did not put any feelings while talking about her knowing the Grant's feelings for Skye may influence me so I keep them in check.

"You love her." Cal is no longer smiling. He looks angry. "I can see it. DON'T––" his neck strains, "Don't try to lie to me"

I keep my face neutral and didn't reply to him as he started to throw a mini temper tantrum and I wasn't paid to deal with this shit so I just let him say whatever he wants not like he could do anything to me.

"You are not good enough for her" Cal says and I wasn't even sure how to respond to that. It's not like I can say I agree with him as it may have been true for the previous Grant Ward but I am way better then him not just physically but even emotionally.

"Let's not make a scene here Cal, You are still being watched by Hydra as for me not being good enough for your daughter, that's something for her to decide. I am not even sure what I have for love or infatuation so don't jump the gun" Grant said trying to calm Cal down.

"Just stay away from her" Cal said as he left the room.

In Vancouver, Raina was with her friend Chad in a coffee shop, trying to convince him to take her to Shanghai, when she saw a familiar face. Thinking it was Melinda May in sunglasses, Raina told the woman "What's the point of a Tracker is if you are going to stalk me, Agent May". Removing her shades, Agent 33 turned her face showing the burnt side of her face, and told her that Daniel Whitehall wanted to talk to her.

Fearing for her life Raina fled as she ran she was stopped by Sam Koenig, who used the Cloaking Umbrella to hide her from HYDRA.

Meanwhile, Coulson prepped his agents to find the hidden city. When Billy Koenig informed him that Raina was in trouble, Coulson decided to separate his agents into two teams, one to enter the city under San Juan, the other to protect Raina in Canada.

Alphonso Mackenzie noticed Bobbi Morse and Lance Hunter growing closer, so he asked her on the Quinjet to Puerto Rico if Hunter was replacing Isabelle Hartley on their mission. She told him that Hunter did not know about it and would not be involved.

At the Vancouver safehouse, Skye was forced to fight Agent 33; Hunter helped her to knock the HYDRA operative unconscious. While awaiting Melinda May to extract them.

" Where is May?" asked Skye

"Good question I will look for her," said Hunter as he turned around and walked away to look for her.

As Hunter left Skye and Raina alone, Raina couldn't help but pole Skye, "SHIELD, must be happy. It looks like their plan of dangling as bait seems to be working."

"Maybe it's because I can touch the Diviner without dying" Raina stated making Skye turn towards her "What!?"

"I can touch the Diviner without dying because I am special" said Raina with a smile.

"Whitehall has the Diviner," Skye said thinking that must be the reason for Whitehall to kidnap Raina.

"Then that changes things. He wants me alive"
