"Besides, the mission is the least of our worries now." Satoru smiled and sat up on his bed. "And why do you say that?" Angel asked with his finger on his chin.
"Because, we're going to be assassinated.." Satoru spoke with a laugh and lied back down on the bouncy bed...
.
Angel furrowed his brows and looked at him. "What do you mean by we're going to be assassinated?" He asked as his frown deepened.
"It's exactly as I say. In a couple of hours, a group of men are going to barge in, armed with weapons to take us out.." Satoru spoke and began to roll on the bed. It seemed like the amounts of sweets he had taken in the plane was starting to stimulate his brain, making him hyper active and full of energy.
"I did my research on this mission, and it turns out that, all the devil hunters who had been assigned the mission had either been assassinated, or vanished mysteriously.."
He sat up once more and spoke with a laugh, as Angel sighed and lied on another bed. "It's quite simple actually, my theory is that, the devils have managed to infiltrate the higher ups of this country....
I mean why else would they be able to grow to such an extent even with a Devil Hunter Association branch in this country.
There is a certain someone amongst the higher ups of this country who is either in a contract with them, or being controlled by them, and this person must've already informed them of our coming..."
He spoke as Angel sighed repeatedly in exhaustion.
"So what do we do now?.." Angel glanced at Satoru and asked.
"What do we do? Well nothing. Moving or trying to escape will alert them. We have to lay low, and strike when the time is right.."
"So we wait for our deaths?"
"Definitely not. Don't worry, nothing bad will happen to you as long as I'm around.."
Satoru patted his chest with a cocky laugh, while Angel rolled his eyes.
"Also, if Im right, then our designated driver, the handsome Mr. Lee should be working for the enemies." Satoru said, as Angel facepalmed in worry.
"And how did you figure it out?.." He asked.
"It's simple actually. I detected traces of negative energy with an unusual explosive property within his body." Satoru spoke with a shrug.
Humans on the normal produced negative energy, but had no access to it, unlike an anomaly like him. Only devils had access to negative energy, but after contracting a devil, a human could borrow a part of the devils abilities and use them, by siphoning off negative energy from the devil itself.
"So what do we do now?" Angel asked again, immensely regretting the decision to accept this mission from Makima. He had thought by accepting to supervise Satoru, he would get to escape the hectic and troublesome devil Hunter life even for a short moment, but reality was always so cruel.
"You, are going to stand guard since you're the supervisor...while I take a nap.." Satoru laughed and began taking off his shoes and shirt, before covering himself with a bedsheet.
"I might as well go take a look around, and see if there any possible escape routes.." Angel straightened his collar and walked to the door, about to go out.
"Why did Makima send you on this mission, Angel. Tell me the truth.." Just as he was about to go out, Satoru's voice resounded, this time, without its playful tone.
"To ensure you never return.." Angel spoke in his monotone voice and opened the door slowly. "I see. Thanks for letting me know.." Satoru chuckled, as Angel walked out with both hands in his pocket.
.
"Beep. This is Lee, the targets have arrived and are settling in. In a few hours, we'll commence with phase two, is everything in place?" Within a small house opposite the hotel the two young devil hunters were now staying in, a familiar figure stood near a window, holding a pair of binoculars and a walkie talkie, with a murderous smile etched on his face.
"Ready to proceed. Awaiting further orders.." A deep voice sounded out on the other side of the phone call, as the man with the binoculars smiled.
.
Within a big office, a middle aged man dressed in a three piece all black suit sat behind a desk with a frown on his face and in deep contemplation.
The next moment, a man in a suit and glasses entered before bowing lightly and reported.
"Makima's goons have arrived in the country once more. Team C is ready to engage.."
The man behind the desk slowly stood up and walked to his window, admiring the beautiful deep blue sky, and the golden ball of light that sat majestically within.
"That little girl still hasn't learnt her lesson from before no? I still don't understand why those old fools keep influencing her to send out her bunch of trained dogs to throw away their lives on an uneventful and meaningless endeavor." He smiled lightly, walked to his desk and picked up a large cigar and lit it up puffed out smoke.
"Tell the leader of the Team C to use as many resources as possible. I want no mistakes or they'll have to answer to me." He sat back on his desk and lightly waved his hand, as the man in the glasses bowed lightly and walked out.
"This country will and forever remain off limits to you and your dogs Makima... Let's see what you can do about it.." He smiled and puffed out smoke once more.
.
Meanwhile, back at hotel, the relatively quiet atmosphere was instantly disturbed by the sound of screeching tires. The next moment, more than seven black SUV's pulled up before the hotel in a rush, as multiple figures dressed like SWAT police team, armed to the teeth, rushed into the hotel building.
"Sigh. Feels good to be back in the game. I never thought I'd be here again making some easy money.." Suddenly, a man dressed in a white shirt and black sweatpants walked out of one of the trucks, resting a large machete on his shoulder.
He had a large scar on his right cheek that made him look incredibly menacing and fierce.
"Shut up you twat. Can't believe I have to see your ugly ass face one more time." Another voice sounded out, and a young black woman walked out the car with a sinister smile on her face. In her hand was a long katana, with two guns strapped to her thighs.
"Jackie...I missed you too old friend." The man with the scar sarcastically smiled, as the black young woman placed her hand on the hilt of her sword, ready to draw.
"Any idea of who we're here to kill?" The man asked as she shook her head in denial.
"Two Devil Hunters from Kyoto's Public Safety Bureau, Makima's loyal dogs.." Suddenly, a chuckle reverberated, and both of them turned around only to see none other than the so called designated driver walking towards them with a smile.
"I trust you guys are doing great?" He said with a small smile. "Well you know retirement isn't really doing it for me anymore." The man with the scar lazily stretched his back and spoke, while the young woman rolled her eyes.
"Anyway, why call us here, if you were going to bring along so many goons, Lee, you know I fly solo." The woman, Jackie, frowned as she watched the men successfully infiltrate the hotel rooms without any setbacks.
"These are trained devil hunters we're talking about. Our men might be good, but there isn't much guns can do against the real might of a devil hunter, that's why I need you, Besides there's one guy who looks like trouble."
*BOOM!*
The moment his words sounded out, a large explosion set off which hurled the three of them flying backwards, along with the SUV's behind them. Soon, the hotel itself began to collapse and crumble to the ground, as a hysterical laughter resounded.
The remaining men, as well as the trio couldn't help but raise their heads, seeing a silver haired youth standing in the air as if it were solid ground with both hands in his pockets, and a large smile on his face.
Right below him another figure walked with his wings outspread, holding onto a decapitated head and gently munching on it, while occasionally wiping off the bloodstains on his lips.
"I thought you were never going to show up. I was starting to grow tired of waiting for you lot.." Satoru chuckled, while the faces of everyone hardened for a moment.
"Is that the one who looks like trouble?" Jackie smiled and slowly unsheathed her katana, while Lee nodded solemnly.
"Oi Satoru, are we seriously going to kill them all?" Angel spoke and looked at Satoru who couldn't help but facepalm and sigh.
"You just ruined my badass entrance. Of course we're going to kill them all, what do you think we were going to do - play video games?" Satoru shook his head and turned his head towards his enemies.
"Now where we we?" His bored expression suddenly morphed into a sinister one, as he slowly unfolded his cloth around his eyes.
