A Gathering of Professors (Bonus Chapter)

In a room overlooking the courtyard where all the 1st years were gathered.

"These 1st years are impressive." A professor said as they observed the gathering below.

"Especially Lord Whiteguard and Lady Rosewen." Another chimed in.

Many other professors nodded their heads at that assessment. Suddenly they all tensed up as they felt the intense aura coming from the courtyard. Then, quickly observing, they saw Lord Maxamus exit his carriage and walk toward the entrance.

"Can someone that young have an aura like that?" A professor asked as they wiped off the beads of sweat that formed.

"He was supposed to be a playboy." Another said as they swallowed hard.

Watching as the boy was about to step in front of him was suddenly knocked down by the elf, causing many to shiver.

"She's fast."

"I barely saw her move."

The silence in the room was profound until it was interrupted by a hearty laugh.

"Nice, very nice indeed." A professor said as they stood up. "When are they going to my class?" They asked.

"Not till next month, Professor Zovreth." A professor said as they looked at the roster.

"Not going to work. I want them now." Professor Zovreth said as they stared at the two individuals.

"Not possible. Lord Whiteguard is already slotted for this month, and the headmaster doesn't want them in the same class." The professor responded.

"Simple, swap Whiteguard with Maxamus and his aide." Professor Zovreth calmly said.

"The headmaster will not like this." The professor warned.

"I just witnessed Maxamus kill that boy nearly ten times. It was only thanks to his aide that the boy is alive." Zovreth paused for a moment. "I now see how he defeated a demon general." They added.

"It doesn't matter. We all agreed to expel the boy a few weeks in." Another professor jumped in.

"That was because we were told he was weak." Zovreth said as a broad smile crossed their lips. "Now that I've seen his power firsthand, I want to fight him."

"Your just a battle junkie, Zovreth." Came a muffled voice.

"I don't want to hear anything coming from someone who has that kind of aversion to blood, Arora." Zovreth countered.

"It's not that I have an aversion to blood. I'm just picky regarding the type of blood I consume." Professor Arora replied while covering their nose.

"When was the last time you had seen a virgin at the right age?" Zovreth asked as they chuckled.

"None of your concern." Arora retorted. "That boy's blood is vile." They added, pointing to the boy whom Maximus's aide wounded.

"To answer your question." Zovreth paused as they turned to the other professor. "I'll decide what to do, and anyone who has a problem with it can say it to my face." Zovreth said, looking at all the other professors in the room.

"Didn't think so." Zovreth said with a heavy sigh when no one rose to step in. "From now on, Maxamus and his aide will fall under my protection. If anything happens to them, and I find out a professor was involved." Zovreth paused as they bared their fangs. "I will rip out your throats and drink your blood." They declared.

"Your not a vampire." Arora said, still covering their nose.

"It's an expression of my people." Zovreth retorted.

"Your people who abandoned you." Arora pressured.

"They couldn't handle me." Zovreth said through clenched teeth.

"Because your only half-orc?" Arora asked.

Suddenly the atmosphere became cold as the half-orc and the vampire locked eyes.

"Ladies, please settle down." Professor Lankford stammered, trying to calm the two down.

Both vampire and half-orc ignored the lanky man and continued to stare at each other.

"Do you think you can defeat me?" Zovreth asked as she gripped her greatsword.

"When has a half-orc ever defeated a vampire?" Arora asked as the nails on her right hand sharpened into claws.

Suddenly an overbearing aura could be felt, causing all to become startled, including the two who were arguing.

"Headmaster!" Every professor said as they stood up straight.

"Enough, ladies." Headmaster Cain said as he walked into the room. "We are supposed to be a united front. To help guide the new generation of nobles and adventurers. We must not fight among ourselves, lest outsiders use that to their advantage." He said as he stopped before the two.

"Sorry, Headmaster." Zovreth and Arora said in unison as they bowed.

"Relax." He said as he waved his hand. "Zovreth, I approve of your request. Maxamus and Whiteguard will be swapped." He paused as he looked at the half-orc. "But I need you to do something for me." He added.

"What is it, Headmaster?" Zovreth asked.

"You said you now saw how he could defeat a demon general." The Headmaster paused and, seeing her nod her head, continued. "I want a detailed report on how he was able to do it. Of course, there are those who cast doubts on the young boy's ability, but if I had the report of one of the strongest martial artists in the kingdom. Claiming that it was true, well, that would ease many minds." The Headmaster finished.

"Of course, Headmaster." Zovreth said, bowing.

"Everyone listen." The Headmaster paused as he observed the room. "Regardless of the rumors that have been passed down. We currently have the future queen and the two Duke's heirs that are attending. We must ensure that everything proceeds accordingly if anything happens to them. There is a good chance this academy will be destroyed." He said.

"Yes, Headmaster." All the professors said in unison.

He was nodding his head with acceptance. Unfortunately, the Headmaster was unaware of the dangers that would befall the academy.

The following events were to be known as the battle of the three Houses, and by the end, there will only be one winner. None were safe, not even the professors. Who maintained an air of neutrality. All who resided at the Royal Oaks Academy would fall under one of these three.

Princess Olivia Verglas.

Lord Leonardo Whiteguard.

Lord Ciaran Maxamus.
