Reborn as a Drake: A quest to become the strongest dragon.

What was the purpose of living anymore? These were my final thoughts before I had taken my own life, the next time I had regained consciousness I had heard a strange, booming voice. [Another one which lacks respect to the life that they have been given.] [Through hardship, you shall learn true respect of your life.] [Eliminating all riskful memories, creating new universe.] [Now you shall be placed in the most extreme possible set of conditions, struggle to live, and learn respect of your life.] These words were ringing through my mind as I reawakened, as a small lizard-like creature. In a dungeon with powerful monsters, where strength is the only absolute. I will survive this place, no matter what!

Spoils of the battle.

[Biomass procured. 5 evolutionary points added.]

This was the third gorrila now, every one that I ate gave me lower and lower amounts of evolutionary points. The first one gave me 10, the second one 7, and now the third one gave me 5. Well, I still have a big amount of evolutionary points now.

Aaaah, but now I'm feeling a bit more satisfied. It tasted bad, but at least it filled me up. Why is everything here bitter though? Do you have some past grudges or something? I'm just kidding with you. Anyways, now that I'm filled up, I can use my brain to its maximum capacity! Go, brain point!

Hm, I mean I have 37 points, god there are so many options I could take. I don't even know what skills I want. It would be awfully nice if you had a menu mr. Appraisal. But like that could eve— oh my god it just happened.

A screen appeared in front of me, with a long list of a ton of different skills, each having different names. Some of them were darkened though, a little strange but maybe that means I couldn't get them yet.

Ok, let's just swift through the skills. Dear god! There are a ton! Owowowow, my head!

My head felt like it was about to split in two from the giant list of skills. Argh what's going on!

Eventually I toughen out the skill headache, and I scroll back to a place with a smaller amount of skills. Alright, let's just look from most expensive to least expensive.

Oh my god. There were some skills here that cost hundreds of points! Let's see here: [Limbo] 150 points; [Gluttony] 220 points; [Wrath] 120 points; and [Avarice] for 200 points.

Well, they certainly do have menacing names. For some reason, there were others, but they were blackened out. Only these ones weren't. But enough of the menacing ones, there were also some nicer sounding ones.

These were: [Perseverance] 170 points; and [Hope] for 145 points.

Well, there weren't too many of them, and they were way too expensive to even think about now. So bye-bye. Let me find some skills that I can afford instead.

Thankfully, the skills changed to ones that I could afford, some of the skills that I could see were completely useless to me though. One-handed swords? I don't even have hands! I refer to them as hands, but they really aren't y'know? Is it because I constantly call them hands? Doesn't matter anyways. I don't own a sword, so I'd never grab a skill like that. Ok, let's see here, any skills that would work for my claws or any other part... well, there are a lot, paralyzing claw is one of them, but I did just grab paralyzing breath. So is there really a point for that? Gah, so many options! Even the 37 points are looking pretty small in comparison to all these skills. It's like going into a shop then realizing that there are too many things you want for the amount of money you have.

Enough rambling Lisa, let's just try to skim through these skills and see if any one of them catch my eye. Not spears, no not weapons, no I don't care about hand to hand combat. Unless it means claw to whatever the hell I'm fighting combat. Oh? Other technique skills? Let's see here: [Earth techniques] 7 points; [water techniques] 14 points; and [wind techniques] for 8 points.

Why is there such an imbalance between the skill prices? Fire was only 5 points you know? Could fire just be useless? Is the skills' strength tied to its price? Ok enough overthinking. I don't care about that. If it works, then it just works.

I could get these techniques, but that would mean I'll have more things to level up, so is it really the best choice? A jack of all trades, master of none. That was what it was called. I mean, even my stats were pretty balanced, which means that it might be lower than other specialized opponents of the same level.

Well, I'll just have to become a jack of all trades, master of all. Simple, right? But for now, let's just continue looking through the skills.

As I looked through them, there was one that looked very interesting to me.

[Eye of force.]

What kind of name is that? Force? Like in star wars? But they didn't use their eyes for that. Well, although the other skill were self explanatory. You certainly need an appraisal.

[Eye of force.]

[Inject force upon anything in your vision, difficulty is less than telekinesis.]

Oooo, this one seems nice, I can just imagine it. They'll fire an attack at me or something and then by like "That's impossible!" When I block it with just my eyes, and I'll be like "this is just 1% of my power." Ahem well, power fantasies aside, this does seem like a useful skill. And it's only 10 points, I can definitely afford it, and I sure as hell can use the extra weapon. Well I want to take this skill.

[Would you like to obtain the skill "Eye of force" for 10 points.]

Yeah.

[Conditions fulfilled. Skill "Eye of force" lv. 1 was added.]

Oh wow, I wonder how I'll use it though? Ok, quick test. I look at one of the monkeys corpses and I look at them. Ok here goes nothing. Sharinga- I'm just kidding. Let's just try to push it while I'm looking at it.

Although it was subtle, the corpse of the monkey was pushed away slightly when I tried to push it with my eyes. And when I tried to pull it, it was pulled very slightly. Yeesh, it was very weak. There go my dreams of force choking someone. Well, just gotta level it up. Not with points of course, dear god anything but points.

Ok, let's also level up Appraisal while we're at it. Appraisal was the MVP for a while, and I believe he deserves the promotion.

[Increase proficiency of "Appraisal" to the required amount for 6 points?]

Mhm.

[Proficiency of skill "Appraisal" reached the required amount. Increasing "Appraisal" to lv. 6]

Ok, we're down 16 points, 21 remaining, haha, it's nice having so many points. Although I'm about to go broke in a couple more minutes.

Well, I also want to level up my energy perception and my manipulation. I need to be able to do it faster if I don't wanna get stuck in a situation like that. I'll also start practicing from now on, since I'll be staying around here for a while.

[Increase proficiency of skill "Energy manipulation" to the required amount for 6 points?]

Kind of expensive, but yeah.

[Proficiency of skill "Energy manipulation" reached the required amount. Increasing "Energy manipulation" to lv. 4]

Ok, now perception.

[Increase proficiency of skill "Energy perception" to the required amount for 6 points?]

Yeah, again.

[Proficiency of skill "Energy perception" reached the required amount. Increasing "Energy perception" to lv. 4]

Ok, now I have only 9 more points. What would I do with them? Well, if I'm planning to stay near here to live. Then I better get earth techniques to make a house right? Give me earth techniques.

[Would you like to obtain "Earth techniques" for 7 points?]

Yeah yeah, I'm getting kind of bored from all the approving.

[Conditions fulfilled. Skill "Earth techniques" lv. 1 was added.]

Ok, so all of my points are gone now. Very nice, only the evolutionary points are remaining, but I'm bored and tired of all this thinking so I'll do something else.

Well, let's take a look at my new status then.

[Lisa] lv. 12

Species: small drake.

Skill points: 2

Evolutionary points: 35

Stats:

Hp: 134/134

Ep: 65/65

Sp: 128/128 (Max: 133)

Strength: 82

Defense: 67

Energy strength: 58

Energy defense: 49

Speed: 122

Woah, it's getting really big now. No skills are appearing yet, I wonder when skills will arrive? But there is this interesting thing. SP, I'm guessing it's called stamina points right? It had two bars, one was yellow and the other was green, the yellow was full but the green wasn't.

I start running and I see that the yellow bar started to decrease, and when I stopped and started panting, it started coming back. When I breathed fire, I also used from the stamina, and when I used it more, the total stamina that I had decreased.

Ok, it's confusing but it also makes sense, so basically. Yellow stamina is the one that I use, and green is the total and reserve.

Well, now that I get it. I'll continue on and build a house near here. I guess I'll enjoy a slow life here while I can.
