Chapter 13: Resignation Letter

Li Qiang didn't mention anything about what he had seen. He just continued the chatter and they discussed things about the marriage.

It was decided that the wedding was going to be held two days from now.

After they were done discussing details about the wedding, Xin Yan decided to visit the company. Li Qiang decided to accompany her as though it was the most natural thing to do.

She wanted to stop him but she decided against him. It might help her solidify her position in the company, so she wasn't against it.

When they arrived at the company, the receptionists were stunned. They had all seen the news but they all thought it was the famous case of arranged marriage. They didn't expect for Li Qiang to accompany their president to the company.

"Good day President, good day President Li," they hurriedly bowed for fear of making a mistake.

Xin Yan's lips slowly curled. They always treated her perfunctorily if she appeared at the company but today was a different case.

She turned to look at Li Qiang who's aura was very imposing and could pressure anyone, well except her. She didn't feel pressured one bit while she stood beside him.

Perhaps, it wasn't that bad for her to get married to him.

Li Qiang sensed the female's gaze on him, therefore he turned to look at her. Due to their differences in height, Xin Yan had to raise her head just to look at him while he looked down at her.

Xin Yan wasn't short. Infact, she was very tall compared to women of her age but it was just that Li Qiang was too tall, which caused her to strain her neck just to look at him.

Click! They suddenly heard the sound of a picture being taken and they broke eye contact as they turned to look at the source of the sound.

It was Chen Wenling!

"I'm sorry Presidents, the scene was just too good and I could not help but take a picture, I'm deeply sorry," she hastily apologized.

'Great Wenling, you will offend both your President and her future husband,' she thought to herself as she dug her fingers into her palms.

"Let me see the picture," Li Qiang stretched forth his hand towards her. It was clear that he wanted her to hand over the phone but she was clueless as she opened her mouth widely.

"The phone," Gao Yang nudged her before she returned to her senses and obediently gave him the phone.

She held her breath. It would be great if he just deleted the picture but if he smashed her phone, she didn't know what to do. She had just got that phone, sh wasn't ready to get a new one.

"I think the picture is good, send it to me, I will use it as my wallpaper," he handed the phone back to her.

She received the phone with shaky hands as she looked at him in surprise. She wasn't the only one who was surprised. The onlookers were also surprised.

"What are you saying?" Xin Yan glared at him speechlessly. And he said he wasn't shameless, it was a big lie.

"Yiu can look at the picture yourself, it's very beautiful, you should also make it your wallpaper, come on, let's head to your office," he pulled her hand as they walked towards the elevator.

Xin Yan only looked at him with mixed feelings. His attitude actually made her feel somehow and in her frozen heart, there seemed to be a place which had cracked a bit.

Once they reached her office, Manager Xu was already waiting for Xin Yan. He was taken aback as his eyes landed on Li Qiang.

"President Xin, President Li," he greeted them subserviently as he watched Xin Yan take her seat while Li Qiang stood behind her.

"What brings Manager Xu to my office?" She asked with a smile.

Manager Xu looked at the confident lady who was seated and he could not help but sigh. Back then, when she had first taken up the post of Presidency, she was well-loved.

Overtime, she got together with Yuan Renshu who she ended up making the overseer of the company. This caused most of the shareholders and directors to be dissatisfied. Slowly, their trust leaned towards Yuan Renshu and they forgot all about the real president.

But now, he felt that their attitude was clearly foolish. What if this was a test? They had just failed it.

Now she had the backing of the strongest family in all of China, the Lis. He had wanted to struggle one last time and see if he could still remain in the company.

But the news of her wedding deterred him. He could only bite the bullet and prepare the documents she asked of him.

He swallowed a bit before opening his mouth to say, "President Xin, I have wronged you in the past and I have also wronged the company, here's my resignation letter and also the documents for the transfer of my shares."

Li Qiang looked at the man before he looked at the lady seated on the President's seat. He seemed to have come to a conclusion.

'Not bad, she decided to use the files, I thought she would ignore it,' his eyes had a smile as his look turned even more gentle.

It turns out it was Li Qiang who did the investigation and sent the documents to her. But for what reason? No one knew.

"Manager Xu is clearly smart, let me see," Xin Yan was in a good mood. How nice was it to deal with a bad egg. It was so refreshing.

Manager Xu glanced at her and he noticed the happiness and excitement in her eyes. Of course she would be happy, he was a bad person and him staying in the company would cause several issues for them.

He curled his lips in self-mockery. If he had known, then he would not have listened to Yuan Renshu but it was too late. As they said, there was no medicine after death in this world.
