Chapter 11

"What are you drinking?" Phoenix asked Augustus, who had a cup of coffee in his hand.

They had just finished breakfast but they were still at the dining table, Rosetta brought him a cup of coffee from the start Alice had brought it back from Earth.

"It's called coffee," Augustus replies.

"Can I try some?" Phoenix asked. He'd never tried coffee before, it wasn't in Phoenix's memory and he never tried it before.

Augustus looks at him and his cup of black coffee with just a cube of sugar and shakes his head. "No, you will not like this," he said.

Phoenix frowns in discontent. "How can you be sure I don't like it?" he said in a whiny voice. "You are drinking it, it can't be bad."

Augustus knows that Phoenix wouldn't like it, but his behavior is like that of a cat. It won't stop unless it has what it wants, and he's sure that Phoenix wouldn't stop asking unless he tastes it. "Okay," he shrugs, handing Phoenix the cup of coffee. Just in time for Rosetta to come over and see this scene.

She wants to stop Phoenix from drinking it, but Augustus stops her with a glance.

Phoenix, who was happy about getting to taste the coffee drink that Augustus gave him, didn't know the dangers lurking in that drink.

He takes a large sip and the bitterness of the coffee takes over his tastebuds. He spat the drink out without thinking twice. "It tastes awful!" he exclaimed covering his mouth and then giving it back to Augustus. "How do you drink that with a straight face? Are you some kind of monster?"

Augustus chuckles a bit, collecting the coffee. "Told you so," he said.

Phoenix turned to Rosetta teary-eyed. "Rosetta, he's bullying me!" he said pointing to Augustus as if she would scold her employer. He did look pitiful, but not pitiful enough for Rosetta to scold Augustus.

"He did warn you," she said.

Phoenix's mouth opened agape. How would she know? She wasn't even there.

He gets up, huffs, and leaves. "I'm not talking to you anymore," he said as he left the dining room.

"Is there something wrong?" Augustus asked Rosetta.

"My sister invited me to go shopping with her and her children," Rosetta replies. "I was wondering if I could take the rest of the day off?" Roberta asked with hope.

Augustus raised an eyebrow at her. "Didn't you and your sister fight the last time you met?" he asked.

Rosetta diverts her eyes awkwardly. "Yes, but she apologized and wants us to meet," she said playing with her hands.

'That isn't the first time she said that,' Augustus thought, but he didn't voice out his thoughts. "Alright," he said. "But take Phoenix with you, he might feel a bit too cramped not being outside for so long."

Rosetta smiled in happiness and she bowed a bit, "Thank you, Your Highness," she said.

Phoenix takes a sip of the honey iced tea Rosetta bought for him while wearing a pair of sunglasses and a hat to protect himself from the light emitting from this sun.

When Rosetta invited him to go out, he was very excited and happy. She helped him choose what to wear because he couldn't make the choice and when he stepped out of the car, he hissed like a demon being burned alive, his eyes couldn't handle the sunlight, it was too bright.

Rosetta handed him a pair of sunglasses and put a hat on his head. "It seems like you aren't used to the light of this planet," she said. "It's not surprising though, you've been indoors for two days straight."

He doesn't know what he looks like but to outsiders, he looks like a pampered princess who isn't used to the sun, not just because of the glasses and the hat, but also because of the outfit Rosetta chose for him was adorable and complimented his nearly milky white skin.

They both stood in the mall center, Rosetta looking around for someone.

"Rosetta!" Phoenix and Rosetta turned to see a woman, who looked like Rosetta, with the same black hair, fair skin, and blue eyes. The only difference is that this woman was wearing makeup and her eyes looked a bit sharper.

Next to her was a familiar pink-haired boy and a pink-haired girl with emerald eyes. "Roberta!" Rosetta said hugging the woman.

"Roger, Rosemarie," Rosetta said hugging the two children.

Then it clicked. "Oh," Phoenix said pointing at Roger, "I know you," he said, then he removed his glasses. He was temporarily blinded by the light, but he blinked through it.

"I know you too," Roger said pointing at Phoenix. "It's nice to see you are doing alright," he said dropping his hand.

Phoenix nodded in response. Roberta clears her throat, quite rudely, and Rosetta laughs nervously. "This is my boss's fiancé Young Master Phoenix," she said. "Young Master Phoenix, this is my older sister and her children," she said, looking at Phoenix and Roger who were beside each other. "Although it seems like you already know one of them."

Roberta was watching Phoenix with observant eyes. He notices this and looks at her, she doesn't shy away when she is caught.

Lucifer noticed another significant difference between the two sisters, while Rosetta's aura is clean, Roberta's aura is filled with greed, and envy. A lovely source of power, but he would rather be killed again than absorb the negative energy being emitted from this woman.

It is a pity that both her children have equally pure auras as well.

"Nice to meet you, Young Master Phoenix, I hope my sister hasn't been causing you trouble," she said, in a nice tone.

"No, she hasn't," he replies sounding a bit uninterested in what she has to say.

Roberta laughed a bit, and then she said, "Rosetta and I need to have a little alone time, I hope you don't mind being with Rosemarie and Roger for a while."

This woman is up to something. He looks at Rosetta, who says innocently, "We can meet back here in two hours."

He gives her a look of disbelief. Is she blind to see that her sister is up to something and that something can't be good?

"Whatever," he said.

"Great," she said, then she handed Roger and Rosemarie a transparent card. "This is for Phoenix, only use it with his permission, alright?" she said.

They collect the card with shaky hands. "Of course," they said at the same time.

"I don't trust him with it, so I'm entrusting you with it okay?" she instructed them. "He is not allowed to have sugar, he can't eat everything from a fold court, and please don't let him out of your sight," she said.

"You make it sound like they are dealing with a child," Phoenix said, upset.

"This from today's experience," Rosetta said blankly, Phoenix pouted and walked away.

"You two better follow him," she said to Roger and Rosemarie.

"We'll do a good job looking after him," Roger said reassuring Rosetta.

"I know you will," she replies before sending them off.
