Chapter 16 : Sister

Lin Lin was relieved after having that conversation with her family .

She was so afraid of their reactions so she kept going in circles before sharing what she wanted to do with them .

She trusts them but that doesn't mean they will agree to her every word especially this .

The risk is huge but thankfully they agreed .

Now, she only needs to find a way to be able to go to town .

She needs to have a letter of introduction every where she goes .

When it was time to sleep , lin lin found out that their worn out quilt is no longer suitable for use . She wasn't able to change it in the old house because of fear of being found out .

But now she is can do whatever she wants .

Lin Lin took out a grey quilt that weights 7 jins filled of cotton from her supermarket.

This is the closest one to the current model of quilts used now .

She tucked the two siblings in the bed then headed out towards her uncle's room .

Once she received the permission to enter ,

Lin Lin went in finding them using a worn out quilt too , that can't keep them warm anymore.

Even though it's currently summer . A quilt is still necessary. They can hide from the mosquitoes or keep warm in those rainy days before the harvest.

He too, was there when his sister came home just to give his wife those things .

But everything she said that day was true .

His mother refused to give her anything.

But she just hugged him back without saying a word and kept patting his back .

Once he calmed down , she smiled at him warmly and asked him

"What made my dummy brother cry huh ?

Tsk tsk , I bet you got into a trouble with someone and lost .

Come on , tell sister who it is and she will take a rod and settle this down for you . "

Hearing her coaxing voice and seeing her worried eyes with clenched fists .

Zhou San started laughing till his eyes watered.

He felt like a little wife whose husband beat her up and needed her brother to settle this for her .

Zhou li smiled and waited till he finished laughing and started telling her what happened at home .

The next day , his sister came home again and bought eggs , chickens , rice ... for his wife and daughter.

Zhou li simply and shamelessly did what she wanted making his mother faint from anger and leave them alone for the rest of the month .

She was Bold , honest and generous.

Just like the sun ,shining wherever she went .

Everyone loved her .

He and his father tried so hard to take her back home but she refused.

Only he and his father know what truly happened that day .

Till now he never forgot her last words , her smile , her will and her limp body hanging from the tree .

The day she died was the second time that he cried in his life . He cried like a baby .

He cried for days when no one was looking .

Since that day , he felt that the world lost its shine since his sister was no more .

That day was the day he lost his only true family .

Zhou San wiped the lone tear that escaped his eyes before he hugging his crying wife to sleep .

Maybe it's time to give Lin Lin what her mother left for her .
