Chapter 25: Xiao Kuangyun

After resting for a day, Yun Che began traveling to the next forest region to increase his cultivation after removing his 70% experience points cut debuff. He can finally fight and receive full experience points after killing his target. Now that the debuff is gone, the man needs more experience to enter the First Level of True Profound Realm. As he was training, Jasmine was observing him from behind. His physique, determination, and sword art reminds her of someone who used the same method years ago. The longer she looked at him, the more she started seeing that person in him.

Her late brother.

Jasmine started to remember her elder brother clearly as he was the one that supported her, loved her, and always watched her as she grew up. She remembered her late brother was just like him. He always came up with new techniques, showing her off his skills, and most of all, always watched her back. For some reason, Yun Che's current image was just like his.

Unaware of Jasmine's dilemma, Yun Che was killing off the demon beast as usual. The demonic beast after yesterday started to grow weaker and weaker. Maybe it's time he stops grinding and focusing on his real mission. Finishing his last kill, he slumped down, and eyes returned to his experience bar. Another 30% needed to bounce his experience point. His experience points from Puma only increased to 70% of his experience bar. He picked a bad day to confront the boss. Anyway, there's no more debuff to worry about.

"So, how long are you planning to stay here and train?" Jasmine interrupts his train of thought as she slowly descends and stands next to him.

"She's been doing this too often, though." Yun Che slowly said in his mind. He was referring to Jasmine always came close to him. Not that he minded, but seeing her character like that was odd.

"I don't know. Until I found that region's boss, I mean the strongest beast. The last time I scanned this area, the strongest was at the early stage of the Spirit Profound Realm. We did search the entire day, but no such beast came here." Yun Che sighs as he sheath Zangetsu behind him.

"Maybe it's afraid? Well, you look like a demon when going on a level-up rampage." she started to make fun of him. Yun Che turned to her and smirked. The serious girl finally learns how to crack jokes.

"Well, you don't look too bad yourself." He countered.

"Are you saying that I looked like a demon?" She puffed her cheeks.

"Maybeee… might be why those beasts scared to come here. Someone much more of a demon is standing right next to me." Yun Che countered back with a smirk.

"You…" Jasmine said, and their bickering with one another started. Maybe both of them didn't realize they were closer than they thought. As they were bickering, they sensed multiple signatures approaching their area.

"These signatures, profound cultivators?" Both of them heightened their senses together.

Increasing his current senses, Yun Che went on high alert. "Why are they here? Jasmine. How many did you sense?"

"Five mid-stage Narcent, Two peaks, and one True Profound Realm Cultivator. Wonder if they are here for something." Jasmine replied.

"Or investigating the commotion I just caused. Either way, it's not wrong to investigate right. " Yun Che and Jasmine immediately jump between trees and approach the signatures.

"Young master Kuangyun, it seems the noise came from that direction." The attendant, Xiao Moshan, spoke to his young master next to him.

"It must be cultivators hunting or training in this forest." One of his guards spoke.

"If that explosion a few days ago causes by them, then it is their luck they are going to be recruited by this young master." an arrogant voice sounded among the experts.

The young master walking through the forest is known as Xiao Kuangyun, the arrogant young master who took the challenge of hunting down Yun Che. He has been traveling through Cyan Town looking for information that might lead him to Yun Che. He holds a deep grudge against him after he marries Xia Qingyue and wants to capture him to obtain Xia Qingyue and her attendant, Xiao Lingxi, who is also the aunt of Yun Che himself.

At the clan, Xiao Kuangyun was utterly defeated by Xia Qingyue and Xiao Lingxi after trying to take them by force. He and his attendants were defeated when a mysterious blue barrier activated and defeated their every attack. Swallowed by greed, he wanted to take the necklace belonging to Xiao Lingxi and Xia Qingyue herself as his prize. So, Xia Qingyue requested that he bring Yun Che to her as a promise for the latter to divorce so they could flock to his side.

Consumed by his ego, Xiao Kuangyun dismissed that Yun Che was the emperor and ordered his network to find Yun Che. He led a Narscent Profound Realm cultivator team to a nearby town to recruit experts that might be used to track Yun Che. He was planning to bring Yun Che back to the Branch Clan and forcefully take Xiao Lingxi and his wife in front of him. Not to mention obtaining the secrets of the treasure. To him, that might satisfy his grudge against him. He didn't believe the story told by the branch clan about how Yun Che used a single slash to cut the mountain's top. He wanted to see how Yun Che fabricated a story to lure experts to the city.

"Xiao Che, when this young master finds you, I'll make that bitch and your wife my slaves as I used them before you. You should cough up the secrets of creating that powerful barrier." Xiao Kuangyun, with his sinister thought, tried to find the mysterious expert cultivating here as he walked through the forest.

He led a team of five mid-level Narcent cultivators, two peak Narcent levels, and his guardian, Xiao Moshan. Xiao Kuangyun was a Third Level Narscent Profound Realm and didn't even register on Yun Che's and Jasmine's radar. They dismissed him as a bug that was trying to tag along.

Yun Che and Jasmine arrived at the tallest tree in the forest, overlooking the group. Yun Che was never a multiplayer type. He was more of a solo player and wanted all the loot. The shinigami thought these guys were just hunters who killed demonic beasts for materials. As soon as he wanted to leave, he listened to their conversation.

"Young master, why are you recruiting experts from the nearby city to find the trash." His attendant Xiao Moshan asked him.

"Hoho, he could rob the treasury and create that blue barrier. I wish to capture him and present him to those two." Xiao Kuangyun replied.

"He's here. It looks like Grandfather and Little Aunt managed to trick him." Yun Che thought in his head while looking at them from the top.

"Young master, why are you looking for him? Should it be easy for you to lure him back to the city? It is dangerous for you to be in this forest region."

"Hmph, then why are you here? I need expert powers to capture Xiao Che. I wanted to tie him at the carriage's back and drag him to the city." Xiao Kuangyun shouted, unaware that the man he was looking for was concealing himself on the cliff.

Yun Che slowly smiles. The rat has come to get the cheese, unaware that the cat is looking from above.

"Hehe, that bastard married the flower of Floating Cloud City. This young master fancied her when I saw that painting of her before. I would have obtained them if that barrier didn't protect Xia Qingyue and Xiao Lingxi."

"Hoo, guess the barrier works. This guy became the test subject."

"Moshan, if we could obtain the secrets of that blue barrier, no experts will be trouble to us. We can force that Xiao Che to cough it up before I drag him behind the carriage." Xiao Kuangyun was twisted, and the experts were uncomfortable after hearing it. The pay he gave them was too much. They merely accept the job of this trash capture.

Yun Che sinisterly smiles. Jasmine supposedly killed him in Cyan Forest within the original story. It looks like this bastard spent three months looking for experts and searching for him. This guy does have a grudge against him.

[Ding….Mission triggered. Kill Xiao Kuangyun.]

"Let's see how you feel when the hunter becomes the hunted. Since the guest is here, won't mind if I get the chance of buttering him up." Yun Che murmured before disappearing from the cliff. As for Jasmine, she heard everything about Yun Che's family when he talked about them in his inner world. He even talked about his marriage with Xia Qingyue and leaving her that night. However, he didn't leave his grandfather, aunt, and wife empty-handed.
