Tricked

The children stared at the teacher with sparkling eyes, holding expectations, waiting for their name to be announced.

Only Edgar scoffed. Leaning against the chair, he swung it back and forth while commenting, "How boring. Who wants to be a teacher's pet? So lame!"

At that, the homeroom teacher shot him a look, and in order to prevent her friend from fuelling up the fire further, Evelyn held the back of the chair tightly, not letting him move the chair.

This made Edgar shoot her a dissatisfied stare, but Evelyn only smiled at him.

Edgar sighed and kept his mouth shut.

The sight of this made the teacher content.

The teacher next announced, "And Evelyn will be the class president. Not only did she score the highest in the class for the midterm, she is polite and a good girl. 

Of course, she is able to control and take care of the troublemaker of the classroom. Evelyn, what do you think about it?"
