Chapter 7: The announcement:

Author's POV:

Ok let's make it clear that I know in some stories when the following scene happens most family never knows the plan until later but I'm kinda creating the scene that they are a harmonious family with no secret contrast to Qi Yan's family

The start of the nightmare was the rumours so this time when dad makes the announcement I'm going to act really surprised a bit happy but not too eager as I don't need people thinking I'm a gold digger. Here goes nothing.

" Hello, can I have everyone's attention?" Father asked whilst clinking a fork onto a glass cup, everyone sat down as he began his speech "Today is the celebration for my daughter's birthday and of her engagement,". These were the same words from last time, clearing my expression my eyes darted around looking at my father's eyes with a surprised expression. Everyone went quiet as he continued ignoring me even though he could feel my eyes on him. "I now can announce that the rumours of talk of engagement between Qi family's eldest grandson Qi Yan and my daughter Fu Hui Qing are true. They would be having their engagement party in 3 months as for when they would get married lets to leave it to the young to decide," he finished off. My eyes blinked very slowly as the expression of someone just released what her father said. ' ok I was trying to process what was happening and my burning headache didn't help, why was the dug working so quickly? This splitting headache. ' I stepped down the stage looking dazed whilst everyone congratulated me, thanking down as I made my way towards Qi Yan people parting way to let me cross. ' Oh gosh, what am I gonna say? She goes nothing' " Hi Qi Yan, uh if you don't want to get engaged with me I can always ask father to..." I began very shyly " No never, I'm quite grateful actually," he interrupted. ' So does that mean he likes me?' My face shone as I smiled happily and said " Oh then I'll be in your care from now on, may I have the honour of having a dance?" ' Who says that to the future husband? uh me above. " Yes, I would like to," He replied. Taking my hand slowly he led me into the middle of the hall and place a hand above my hips and I placed mine on his shoulder.

The song River flows in you by Yiruma began to play and we started with a slow waltz that sped up very fast surprisingly we had good chemistry and rhythm. Wow, that was a good dance. I curtseyed as Qi Yan bowed and I walked away to meet my family they were all smiling smugly I pulled them quickly into a room and I heard Gu gu help me by quickly talking about what happened.

I closed the door quickly and leaned on it closing my eyes and smiling my eyes shot right open as I heard gege laugh. " Mei Hua*(1) looks like we didn't do this wrongly," father laughed my face turned ash face as I yelled, " How dare you guys set my engagement without my permit, I'm still dating,". " Hui Qing don't be angry, you were quick happy about it earlier, and it was kinda set since your childhood you know this," my mother comforted. " Just because I don't mind Qi Yan, doesn't mean you could just set my marriage. And besides, I remember that the Qi family never said that I had to be the bride. But you could give me something else in compensation ..." I queered. " Number 1. I want to open a fashion design shop just a small one, can you guys give me 5 million yuan*(2) and in 5 years I want to achieve the impossible, I hope my shop can become one of the Fu family's pride and honour. I don't want to always live off my parent's money, I want to make a stand for myself for once. Number 2 I want to try and love Qi Yan so I'm hoping none of you guys would help us, as for his side I don't know," I asked. Turning back to face my parents I saw mother had taken a handkerchief dabbing her eyes 'is that necessary?' I shot my mother 'that look and she removed her dabbing eye movement and cried " My daughter has finally grown up, I'm just happy. Not just 5 million I can give you a billion yuan if you asked for it,". 'I'm always acting grown-up am I not? This f*king headache of mine is getting worst the drug is working'. Clutching my head gege ran over to hold me as he asked " What happened?". " Huh, I've been drug obviously," I sneered. " How can you still laugh at this time? What drug is it? Who did it?" father asked. "Let me ask you what drug makes someone lose control and ruin their innocence? Who? Well, who else left early?," I quoted. " Luo Wen Ning, Wen Xui Ying you guys are both dead how dare you guys to do this do my Jia Jia," Fu Hui Yun spoke ' Wait I remember taking the antidote for the drug I placed in their cups so why is it still working up? Of course, they couldn't have brought the same one as me, maybe that's why " Hui Yun no need, I'm getting my revenge. Take me to Qi Yan and nobody else apart from him," I commanded. "Since you already know of their plot why continue with it? We could send you to the hospital to get the drug out of your system," Father yelled " I don't want to see my daughter getting ruined before her marriage*(3)," he added in a softer tone. ' So he does care for me, just in a different way, how sweet'. " Father I want to know what Qi Yan would do in this situation and nobody would say anything as in people's eyes I am getting engaged to him, this way we could test what sort of character he is. Believe me, I don't want to ruin my future either," I persuaded dad sweetly as mother looked depressed whilst gege and mei were still fuming with anger over who drugged me. 'I have a very caring family, it's just I was too blind to see it '.

We had concluded that bright early in the morning mei would sneak into my room and wake me up to catch my going to be ex. If I were too tired then gege would catch them himself, he would send someone to stay outside their room in case they run away. And father had vowed for his word not to do anything in our love business and had already given me 5 million yuan for a birthday present. To be honest the only reason I asked for the 5 million yuan was that in the future I would have my very own successful business so this time I want to start my company earlier with my knowledge of the future.

I still joined in on the party fun though I couldn't concentrate and seeing me like this Xian ge had suggested that Qi Yan take me back to my room he agreed willingly. The party had ended as most people were tired since it started at 8 and was due to end at 00: 30 but because I felt really hot and my head was hurting now I couldn't even think straight so it ended early. I was starting to lose conscience.... 'What would he do to me...

Qi Yan's perspective:

Hui Qing and her family had gone into the room for quite a long time and you could hear the muffled voice but the only sound I heard was something hitting the ground hard like something broken vase or glass items (I found out later it was when Hui Qing fainted and swept the stature of my accident), I wanted to run into the room but that aunt of hers had asked bodyguards to block the door to give them a bit of privacy.

I felt quite happy when Wei Wu Xian asked me to send her to her room, the party had pretty much ended it was already nearing 00.00 so Uncle Fu had told me to stay and would send me back tomorrow. She had dragged me up to her room and when it closed she had pressed me onto the war and boldly kissed me ' that wasn't my first kiss but it was quite unexpected. What's happening to her? Why is she taking her clothes off?' " Help me," she whispered, " I'm so hot,". ' What to do in this situation? Do I help her or not? She had taken all of her clothes off apart from her undergarments. No, I will not do anything to her though my lower body wasn't listening, I don't want to take her like this when she was been drugged I want to do it with her when she's awake and consent to it. I better run a bath of cold water for her'. I gently placed her into the bath though I had to take her clothes off. 'Looking at her carefully she was really pretty. Woah she has a very beautiful birthmarked shaped like a half-moon on her lower limb, where have I seen it before? Ah, my head hurts. I fell onto the bathroom floor clutching my head, images began to flood my head ' was these my lost memories?' all of these images were of a younger version of me being held in a warehouse with another little lady, she seem to have hurt her leg and I was bandaging it for her, she had the same birthmark as Hui Qing. I had asked for her name " It's Xiao Qing," she replied in my memories. the images ended as I looked in Hui Qing's direction and muttered " Xiao Qing, I finally found you,".

I had waited until Hui Qing fell asleep and sent her back to her bed, putting on a nightgown on her, she looked so peaceful and cute. "have sweet dreams Xiao Qing, goodnight," I whispered
