Dispute and a city in transition

The next morning at 8am everything was ready and Jochen rode ahead with Mortis while his convoy rode behind him with all the servants and gifts in the luggage.

After 6 hours they reached Bamberg and Mortis was surprised how the city now got new life, while before it was quiet and still so it seemed as if it was just there. Now the market was bustling with activity, the houses were being painted and on the outskirts there was a large white church with a bell tower in which everything was kept in silver and on the tower was an angel that seemed to be watching over the city and the country.

At the market many citizens noticed how Mortis and servants stared at the church and full of pride the citizens told about the Goddess Argentum Mortuum and how she showed herself to this world. Mortis smiled, nodded slightly to the people in confirmation, and then set off on foot with Jochen towards the castle.

In front of the castle stood many soldiers belonging to the county of Bamberg and they were already waiting for Jochen, so they saluted and greeted him honorably.
