As soon as the security guy had carted the girl off the manager turned back to me.
"Can't seem to get decent staff these days. Are you okay, Valerie?" he asked.
"Yeah, I just wanted to say thanks, but I'll need to head back now, Flynn is probably cleaned up, and we're due at the after party," I said, lying. The crazy fan left me shaken, but I played it down because if Flynn had known I'd left Rita up at stage level and had been attacked he'd have gone ballistic.
"Are you sure?"
"Of course, I am. Let's not say anything about this to Flynn, it will only worry him and I more than handled the situation so we can leave it like that."
The venue manager got the message because he had a lot to lose and nodded. I was the manager of RedA and Flynn's woman. That gave me some clout, and I'd been attacked on his watch. He nodded, and I thanked him for his hospitality before I headed back trying to compose myself before I reached the dressing room and Flynn.
