Code.

It was a simple term yet it held lots of meaning, but that wasn't the main point. A person's Code is something that was branded onto them by a higher being basically a person's code is said person very existence it's what made them up. But the term code was another word for something far greater but that is a story.

The OVERWRITE button allows one to not only access a person's code but as well as edit, delete, copy, and even paste someone's code and it wasn't limited with just a single individual one could even alter the universe they were in and if they were strong enough delete the entire universe if they wanted to.

But right now Chris didn't have the OVERWRITE but as he sat on the bed of his room he started seeing the code of the world, he could see the very existence the very being of the world he could see the code of the vase that played on top of the dresser he could see the code of his own bed and he could even see the code of Rem who stood worriedly beside him.

'It hurts.'

The flow of information began once he turned Lvl 13 back in the colosseum, he fell to the ground due to the amount of information he was taking in but once he was brought to his room he started to feel better as there were less people. But now Felix was behind him trying to heal his pain but he knew he couldn't this was something he alone had to deal with.

But as he looked at Felix he saw something specific in his code.

Reading that one line of code he grinned and immediately saved, but as he tried to stand up to get closer to Felix he feel to the ground in pain.

"Chris!"

Rem rushed to his aid worried about him, but as he took a good look at rem he saw a different strand of code within her.

Reading this he understood what it meant and in the next instant he willed himself to move and as if answering to his call his soul appeared hovering infront of him glowing a bright red before suddenly Felix couldn't react as a spear made of DT struck was launched towards him killing the poor cat boy in the process.

As Chris leveled up he felt even more pain not only in his head but his entire body but he had enough strength to make the reset button appear before passing out while hitting the button with his head.

If any of you don't know anything about X!Tale the overwrite basically gives the person admin commands for reality, of course there are some limitations as a person can't just delete any universe without having enough strength to do so. But once Chris obtains the overwrite button and has enough strength to open a portal to another world that would be the end of rezero, or will it?-

'I think I'm going insane..'

Currently Chris was out with Rem buying souvenirs to give to the children in Arlam Village since they have never been to the capital, Rem was the one who insisted to buy them as Chris just wanted to get used to his new found code seeing ability to look for people he could obtain LOVE from.

He pretended to be interested in what ever Rem was saying about the children but in reality he could careless about them, sure he had a soft spot for kids but he saw no need for them to receive something without working for it. That was something he learned growing up in the slums.

Though soon enough after their little walk around the capital Chris couldn't find anyone that contained even a single amount of LOVE, so he and Rem made their way to the carriage back at the stables to place all the items they had bought for the children which were wooden swords for the boys and dolls and dresses for the girls. The gifts may seem sexist to some certain people but for a bunch of village kids it would probably be the best gift they would ever receive and with the wooden swords the boys at the village could even train themselves.

"Thank you for accompanying me Chris"

Rem said a she smiled towards Chris who was loading the box full of the children's toys into the back compartment of the carriage.

"It's no problem can you call Emilia it's better for us to get going before it gets dark"

Rem only nodded before heading back to the high class inn(No not a hotel) Emilia was currently staying at as she found reason for Chris wanting to not head to the manor in late hours, but he true reason was for Chris to set a SAVE near the Flugel Tree so he could teleport back to it when the white whale appeared during the night.

He wanted to deal with the beast as it would definitely have LOVE as it was an important part of this worlds original story, he didn't need to go along with Rem and Emilia back to the manor as he already had a save file inside his room.

But as he waited for Rem to return with Emilia he began observing everything around him, chris was slowly getting used to so much information being given to him as he not only saw the code of those the named-eye could see but as well as microscopic beings.

'I need to turn this off, or at least reduce it...'

It was safe to say he wasn't enjoying seeing what made up everything, other than leveling up to fourteen Chris noticed how his eyes had changed from red to purple and his soul no radiated a purple glow instead of a red one. Chris took this as a sign of being close to obtaining the OVERWRITE button but he didn't hope for it, but he could think of It any further as after a few min utes of waiting Rem had finally arrived with Emilia accompanied by a floating Puck.

"Yahoo~, Hello Chris!"

"Hello Puck, Hello Lady Emilia. Seeing how Rem is carrying your luggage I assume you're ready to go?"

Chris greeted the two before asking Emilia who looked daze at the sight of Chris.

"Y-Yes!, I'm all set!"

Chris only smiled and open the carriage doors for Emilia to get into, he tried reaching his hand towards hers to help her but instead she flinched and moved a bit further away from Chris apologizing to him for doing so.

'So she's afraid of me?, Ok'

Chris didn't even care of what Emilia thought of him as he saw her as nothing but a child who still see's the world she was living in to be filled with good people, but in truth this world was only a level below Berserk when it came to how messed up it was. The only thing missing was monsters of various species.

As Emilia and Puck got into the carriage Chris closed the doors not bothering to go inside and instead sat on the front along with Rem who was handling the lead for the earth dragon, and after making sure that the carriage was in good condition they were off to the Mathers Mansion.

If you've been reading this scuffed fanfic to get into this point, you may have noticed how Chris normally acts is nothing but a facade and his true personality is basically numb towards everything. But sometimes he still shows a bit of humanity this will come into play later on after the Re:Zero arc, my MC needs character development too yknow.

Chris currently has two goals, one was to eliminate the White Whale that he knew in one of Subaru's resets would appear somewhere around the night and the other appear earlier in the day. He didn't know the exact specifics so right now he was currently sitting on one of the many huge branches of the Flugel Tree and he would spend the whole night here until morning where he would teleport himself to kill the cultist who were going to attack Arlam village sometime tommorow afternoon.

He didn't need to worry about a certain someone transferring themselves to another body as he would just destroy their soul, but right now he began writing on a journal rem had gifted him at their day out in the capital.

He was writing in mixed languages those being the three he remembered back in his past life, English, Filipino, and German. He was writing on it to not only past time but to do something as he was incredibly bored waiting for the white whale, Chris mostly began writing about theories about magic and how they could be applied With SOUL magic he was writing everything he knew down the main reason for this was to leave something behind in this world he would even leave the translated version of the journal into three pieces around the world you could say he was bored and wanted to see if one day someone would be able to decipher what he was writing.

As he was writing in the journal he felt a sense of danger coming towards him, he looked up to see a white mist heading towards him. Thinking fast he stored the journal back in his ITEM space and made a giant fan out of his DT to blow away the mist.

*WHOOSH!!!*

And as he did he was met with the white whale looking at him hungrily before it release more mist from its giant jaw and sent it towards him, Chris only smirked as he could see the mist and the whale clearly even in the night. And the reason for this was his new ability to see the world's CODE.

He still had a few headaches as he still couldn't figure out how to turn the ability off, but right now it was helping him dodge and counter the white whales attacks. Normally it would take a whole army to take the beast on but Chris with being Level 14 was now at the same strength of Genocide Undyne If one were to scale the original Undertale universe by the living monsters undyne would be the second strongest when it came to strength while asgore would be on top, so right now Chris could handle the white whale if he was careful enough.

Chris leaped from the branch he stood on and as he began free falling from he branch he formed a spear made of DT before hethrew it at the white whale, it pierced its skin and as it did the white whale yelled in pain before in began releasing mist from almost everywhere around it's body.

[SAVE]

Chris this time formed two knives and span around causing him to pass through the mist unharmed and landed on the whales back, he grabbed the spear he threw before gliding it through the whales skin causing It to twist and turn in pain.

Despite this Chris held on as he kicked the spear further in the whale before leaped away to a safe distance, in the next second the spear within the whale exploded in a red explosion blasting the whale in the direction of the Flugel Tree causing it to hits its head making it disoriented.

'Just like Monster Hunter!'

Chris then formed another spear but this time it had a chain linked on the back, Chris threw it directly at the white whales eye and once it made contact caused the whale to squirm in pain and released twice the amount of mist concentrated towards Chris who only smirked as the attack got closer towards him.

[LOAD]

Chris back where he was during his free fall which was directly above the white whales blow hole, this time instead of forming a spear he formed a single giant DT Blaster and used it as something to land on as it flew towards the blow hole. As he got close he fired the blaster causing it to pierce through the white whale heavily Injuring it while Chris entered it through the blow hole.

'God this is disgusting...'

Chris felt the oil of the whale on his boots and could only look at it in annoyance, right now he was where some sailors would call 'Liquid Gold'. But he didn't care about that but instead aimed his palm which began forming a concentrated ball of DT directly where it's brain should be.

"Bang."

A blinding red light enveloped Chris before the concentrated ball of DT fired into a beam and since the white whale couldn't split into three so one of the great beast died in the hands of a mere human.
