Re: The Last Rose

When the first 2 gods descended, they fell in love at first sight, and the moon god created several roses to gift to the sun god as a sign of his affection. Those same roses were then passed down to their descendants, mortals, to take care of them. Roses are usually red, but the first roses exist in different colors, and whenever a mortal pluck one of the original roses, they are blessed with unimaginable power. A few of the roses have been found, and several others are waiting for their chosen one, but one, in particular, has never even been spotted, the black rose. **************************************************************** P.S. Chapter 378: Jonathan

Maple POV

Ugh, I can't believe that I'm about to do this. Why can't they just make me join the action? I'm a goddess, I've done many things, I'm not as innocent as everyone claims me to be. My job was to convince Dad to tell us the location of one abandoned weapon that was no longer used by the previous gods who disappeared.

Perseus can wield weapons made with the material that was blessed by Mom, so he can get an upgrade now since he won't die from using it compared to regular mortals. The only ones who can wield them are several of the watchers, the chief, the demon lord and generals, and last but not least, the heroes.

Anyway, I met and talked with Dad when I felt lonely and the others were busy, and even though we are more distant now, we still get along, so the chances are high. I met up with him and he brought me to this café and ordered some shakes, desserts, and some cube-something sandwiches.

We talked and after a while, I steeled myself and asked him about the location of any abandoned weapon of the gods, I didn't mention that it was for Perseus and not us, but he kind of already knew. We aren't really allowed to interfere with the potential war, only Ruka and Leilah can do anything about it.

Mom can technically help since I never remembered her making any oath or vow, but it is what it is, and Perseus was grateful that we even helped him in the first place.

"Of course, I know the location of the abandoned weapons..." Dad sighs, "While Your mom was focusing on those supers...or whatever they're called nowadays, I was fascinated and studied the weapons of this world, being a god of war, I love weapons almost as much as my children."

"You shouldn't say that in front of your daughter."

"And you shouldn't be helping or pursuing that idiot, but here you are."

I don't have time for this, I'm already mad that I had to cancel my plans with Perseus, I planned for us to go to those places where there are fun machines, a large castle, and is apparently led by some large talking mouse with a funny voice.

I couldn't believe I was resorting to this, but desperate times called for desperate measures. I put on my best innocent smile, widened my eyes, and raised my voice to that unnaturally high pitch that always made my dad melt.

"Dad?" I said in a soft voice, "Pleeeease, pretty please with a cherry on top, can you tell me?

I felt a pang of embarrassment deep within me as I exaggeratedly pouted my lips and clasped my hands together. I was a grown woman, a goddess even, for crying out loud, and here I was, acting all cutesy like a five-year-old begging for a cookie before dinner. But it was the only way to break through his reluctance.

"Alright, sweetheart." He sighed, shaking his head in mock defeat.

"I can't believe you did that."  Perseus said in a teasing tone as he hugged me from behind, "Can you do it for me too?"

"No, I'm not, but Dad said that the hammer doesn't look like the one in the movies, and we have about 5 days before Cain launches his attack, so let's make it quick and not...stop kissing me!"

"You look like you wanted a reward."

"I don't!"

"I can tell that you're lying."

"Ugh, I hate that ability sometimes."

Perseus POV

I couldn't believe it was finally happening. The chance to find Jonathan, Thor's legendary hammer, was like a dream come true. The excitement coursing through me was almost too much to contain.

I followed Jerah's instructions and the road ahead was long and uncertain, but I didn't let them stop me. As I walked through the lush green forests and rugged mountain paths, I couldn't help but think about the stories and legends that had led me here. I don't want to wield the hammer itself, I just want to melt it and infuse it with my sword.

As I ventured deeper into the wilderness, the instructions had led me to this remote cave, hidden away from the world, where Jonathan was said to rest. I stepped inside and the temperature dropped, sending shivers down my spine.

The air was heavy and the cave's walls were lined with strange markings, glowing faintly in the dim light, and I knew I had entered a cool secret tomb, just like in the movies.

The cave was a treacherous maze of magical traps, each one more cunning and deadly than the last. And I easily saw past pitfalls and illusions that were set in the cave, considering how cunning the actual Loki was, I'm surprised that the traps of this cave sucked this much...

"Arf!" Buddy barked

"Right, it's been a long time, the traps have lost their effectiveness, those movies lied to me!"

The cave was like a maze, and there was magic in place to help make us get lost, but it meant nothing to me. And after a while, I heard it, a faint, distant rumble like thunder.

Finally, at the heart of the cave, bathed in a soft, mystical light, I saw it, Jonathan. Jonathan was a colossal, silver-colored hammer, covered in ancient runes, with a handle wrapped in leather. It didn't look like the one in the movies, it's not as blocky and seemed a bit smaller, but it's still pretty cool.

"Take that Thor, I know that I shouldn't make fun of the dead, but I just wanna say, thunder is a sound! Rename yourself to the god of Lightning, you stupid idiot! Woohoo, Jonathan's all mine!"

"Arf!" Buddy barked.

"Fine, thunder does sound cooler...it thunder can cause damage since it's a really loud sound."

"Arf?"

"Uh, yeah, Mjolnir is the other name, but Jonathan is the original."

"Arf?"

"Yes, I'm sure."

He then glared at me as he clearly didn't believe me.
