Perseus POV

"I'll never tell you what you want!" the king retorted

I don't know why he's getting so energetic for, I didn't even torture him or do anything yet. Like I get the fact that he must be feeling very betrayed, but he should need to learn to take a chill pill.

"Your majesty, please calm down, I really plan on letting you go, you're just going to have to calm down, I have no intentions of harming you."

"Who are you?!" he demanded, "You talk and sound like Rolan, but my instinct says otherwise."

"I assure you, your majesty, I would never be so ashamed of myself that I would take the face of another, I have quite a lot of pride towards my own looks."

I now laced my ability onto my voice as I speak.

"Your majesty, may I inquire about the location of the homunculus?" I asked while taking out a note and quill, "Tell me every detail of the process, don't leave anything out, every single trick and every single truth, I want them all."

I usually hate taking notes, but I gotta convince this guy otherwise. Zach has given me some tips about Rolan Urgess, the guy likes to take notes, he doesn't use a pen and he doesn't use magic to make the quill write for him.

He is always seen packing paper, a quill, and a bottle of into his storage spell and has the habit of writing every note himself. The king had a frustrated expression, but the answer flowed out of his mouth against his will.

He resisted well as he managed to stop himself a couple of times, that's a proper king for you, you're gonna need a really strong head if you wanna properly rule and this guy definitely qualifies to be a king.

The place is secret, that's for sure, there are a lot of knickknacks and cuts for the place where this guy is being kept hidden, but even then, the king himself doesn't know the full location, he only gave out the location of a guy who knows a guy who knows a girl who knows another guy who knows a horse who knows a bird who knows a goat who knows a guy with the exact location.

Yes, I'm not joking, the bird is a magic pigeon only found in the northern part of the western continent, it's a fancy carrier pigeon. The horse is also a messenger horse, while the goat will always deliver you to the right guy once you know the actual goat and give it some treats.

It would be funny if I just left it ambiguous, but I wanted to sate your curiosity out of the generosity of my heart, I have already insulted your sorry maidenless state more than enough.

"What's with the tears, milord? Should I call in my jester to help entertain you, he's a well-known performer, he even made the iron-faced general crack a smile with a joke."

"You really are Rolan, I don't know what has happened to you, but...why do you need the homunculus?" the king asked while gritting his teeth.

This guy...he's trying to earn my trust and stall for time...

"Simple, I need obstacles like Perseus and Phineas gone sooner, we should have used that specimen to participate in the tournament and eliminate the filthy pests right there and then, they will only slow u down and get in the way of us eliminating the demon lord."

"I know of your hatred towards Perseus, he eliminated you during the tournament, and he humiliated you by not even fighting with his full strength. But we need those 2 to live a bit longer, at least just one since Phineas is adamant on getting in our way.

"As much as they are an obstacle to us, they are also an obstacle to the demon lord, our own opposition. Perseus and Phineas both identify as humans and haven't you heard the confirmation of Lilith's death? Perseus now no longer has any formal connection to the demons.

"Perseus is the strongest individual after the demon lord, a being stronger than you heroes, he's comparable to my strongest ancestor, a king whom I believe is second only to the gods. He can weaken the demon lord for us, we can then finish the both of them off, we need to let them get stronger in their own separate journey."

"I can't risk them going to the other side." I countered, "Since the others have Phineas cornered, I'll go after Perseus, it won't be long till we all hear from the god of autumn about my deed, after all, I dedicate all my victories to her."

I then used my powers to make sure he keeps his mouth shut for 2 weeks, I don't want him to forget about what happened since I want Rolan to be slowed down, I'll have 2 weeks of time to send the kids back, and find the Homunculus, whom I may use or eliminate if necessary.

After putting him back to sleep, I left some food and water in the room and went back home, he should be smart enough to make his way back home, I left him a map and a few basic pieces of equipment as well.

I got home and told the 3 that I will be working on sending them back home as soon as possible as I'm pretty sure I can cover the rest for now.

"That's alright, we had fun." Asher replied, "Young or not, you're still the same goofball who can be smart and serious when needed."

Goofball? I just felt an arrow stabbing me through the heart right there.

"Yeah, we bonded well, and I'm more than sure that we'll see each other again, in a less awkward setting." Orion added

"Alright, Ivy, your turn to insult me."

"Ummm..." she hesitated before opening her mouth to speak again, "Dad, the fact that you always insult others for their social awkwardness, their need to touch the grass, I think that the current you should be the one who follows your own advice the most, it's almost like you're projecting your own insecurities upon others to make yourself feel good."

And she's supposed to be the nice one.
