Chapter 1: 1998

James had several turning points in his life, 1998 is one of the most memorable year for him. It was the year that caused him to lose everything; money, warmth & family.

Speaking about family, James had a "happy" family for quite some time. He has 2 older brothers & 1 younger sister, quite a crowded family. His family run a small clothing shop in town, not big but enough to feed all the mouths in the family. All turned out good until one day in early months of 1998, his father lost a fortune due to gambling. They had to sell their cars, jewelries & need to move to a smaller place. As a young child, James & his siblings were unaware of the matter, their mother is a really strong woman. She carried all the burden by herself without wanting her children to worry at all.

Smart people say that," foolishness is repeating the same mistake more than once."

What happened in early 1998, repeated in the end of the year. Wanting to win back all the money he lost, James' father lost again in gambling. He put the house certificate as an ante. Unable to go on living like this anymore, her mother decided to split from his father, bringing James & his siblings to live with her.

From there on, his mother always be strict to her children, educating them to stay away from gambling & drugs. She worked almost everyday to earn money to let her children to get proper education.

This is one of the moment that James regretted the most.
