Chapter 46: Sacred Ruins
Zaine sat upright on the bed with dried-up tears in his eyes. He looks over the room. He's sleeping alone today. Albus has decided to sleep with Amy tonight.
'I guess we have finally conquered the tower, right?' Zaine looks out the window of his room.
'It's still dark outside. I guess I'll go for a walk.'
Zaine got up, opened the window of his room, and walked outside. He sat at the side of the hill in front of his house.
He feels the air has grown considerably colder since the world merged. He can feel the heat of his breath and see it forming a misty cloud.
He looks up, and tiny white flakes made of ice start dropping from the sky.
It's the first time he has experienced the cold. After countless years of living alone in a house cooped up, he has never gone outside his country to encounter the winter weather.
He lay down in the soil and stared at the dark sky.
