Ray of sunlight on winter

One fine spring day in Zurich, Switzerland, During lunch time, the cafè and restaurant around the office complex were busy. They were pack with office workers who took their lunch break. Keinichi walked out from one of the office building, he decided to have his lunch break outside.

He went to italian restaurant opposite his bulding. He chose a seat outside the cafè to enjoy the warmth of the sun. Alone, he sat there by his own self, enjoying his lunch while drowning his self on this Ipad. He did not access his social media like most people did, instead, he was doing his work. He had endless works in his hands, that why he was labelled as an workaholic man by his colleagues and family.

It had been two weeks since he arrived at that city. He was not a local, he was born and resided in Japan. The Japanese company that he worked had a collaboration with local company to build a resort there. He put his hand up to go there for two reason. First because he missed that place and second was to avoid certain situation back home.

A caucasion man and a young asian girl stood few steps away from him while chatting happily. The girl caught glimpse of Keinichi , she looked at him for while then she shifted her glance soon after. Keinichi was deeply engulfed by his work. He did not notice the girl stare at him. When He worked, he would bother with his surrounding. In addition, he never paid attention to that kind of scene, he used to with lady gaze.

The caucasion man spoke in English to the Asian girl "Your building is the middle one"

"The one across the road. Am I right ?" The girl asked

Keinichi lifted his head as soon as the girl voice entered his eardrum. The Voice was very familar to him, It had been a year but he remembered it clearly. He had been waiting to meet the owner of the voice again since his first day working there.

He was starled "Should she start on next monday ?" but smiled the next second "She is still thesame, very energic and cheerful".

He was gald that he wore his sunglasses today because he could observe the girl freely without anyone knowing included the victim.

Her appearance was different from his memory. However, he recognised her rightaway because he had registered her in his heart. Just over a year, she looked more mature in her profesional attire. Her hair was cut short but it made her look fresh and younger.

He saw the girl walked toward the building that he worked. He took his final bite and left the restaurant in rush to follow her. The girl was already quite far away, but he was taler than her, so his step was much wider than him. In very short time, He managed to shorten the distance until he finally walked behind her.

Right in front of the bulding that he worked, the girl and the man stopped.

"Ok, I need to go now. Call me when you finish, I'll walk you home" The man said.

"No need. I can go back my self. Mr Google can help me. Thank you so much and I am sorry to bothering you today" She smiled politely.

"No drama. Call me if there is any problem"

Keinichi saw the man walked away while while the girl entered the building. She walked to the the elevator and pressed the Up button while he was still behind her. When the elevator door was opened, she and Keinichi went in.

It was only two of them inside. She smiled and nodded at him politely as she pressed level 18. He was glad to see her smile again. He nodded and pressed his level, which was 20. When he passed her, He could smell her scents, it was still the same as well. He really wanted to say hi to her. However, at the end, he supressed his desire and decided not to talk to her. Once She was out, he opened his sunglasses "See you soon, little lady".

On level 20, as soon as he entered his office, Keinichi went to his desk and took a dark blue folder. He got this folder two weeks ago, it was his the first day doing his job in Zurich. That day, the head director of the project gave him a folder that consisted list of staffs that worked on the project. He just screened the pages quickly until he reached the last two pages. He was starled to see familiar name on the resumè.

"Charlene Feng !?" His heart was beating very fast. "Is she her ?" He went through her resumè nothing was missed, he wanted to ensure she was the same person as the one that he knew.

He checked her birthday, country origin and he alma mater, they were matched.

"It's really her" He was excited, He did not care about her boyfriend, he just wished to see and talk with her again. if it was posible, he wanted to have a laught with her again, even just once.

"why do we have staff from country A ?" Keinichi asked the guy that handed the folder. He was one of the project manager "The company that look after the landscape has branch in country A. They send her here, they guaranteed that she is the best candidate. She starts in two weeks, she will arrive to this city next week".

"This project had started last month, why do they send her late?" Keinichi was curious.

"Landscape is the last step. So, her role is not significantly needed until next month. anyway, she asked to come after her graduation ceremony which is this wednesday"

"Just graduated ?" he raised his eyebrows.

"Yes. Please reassure she is very profesional. She has been working with our partner for sometimes"

"Ok, that's fine" he smiled.

After the project manager went, keinichi stared at the girl picture " Charlene, Cacha, Will you still remember me ?"

"Excuse me " the project assistant arrival brough Keinichi back to the present.

"what's up ?" he asked.

"Miss Feng is on the receptionist. Bret will bring her here in few minutes"

Keinichi nodded, then he stared at a vacant desk next to him before he let a smiled.
