First assaults

"Look, it's my man Helios", the voice was unfriendly and mocking to the core.

Wave immediately casted his arm straight before Jay, and without letting her break out from the trance, he pulled her inside the nearby alley to hide exposition.

Another sneak, gave him the view of a bunch of thugs styled men with uncivilized faces, surrounding and cornering Helios like a to-be-slaughtered pig. When the single person cowered like a prey, the older ones only enjoyed and laughed.

"Been searching for your ass, but like the slimy fucker you've been, you're easy to slip through, aren't you?"

"Maybe we should catch up with a coffee and a decent conversation this time, what say?"

"That's a scene for later. Right now, Helios has got something for us, right?".

"No fucks! How could I forget that? Helios remembers, don't you?".

The directed person had almost lost his voice, he looked vulnerable and weak beyond a human should. And he was a rogue Raven for hell's sake. And yet he was shaking to the core, avoiding any gaze coming his way.

He managed out with a crack in his tone," Sorry, but I – I don't think you got the right person…"

"That's not the best excuse, mundane! You think we are high enough to grab any random person named Czech Helios?"

And Helios was too scared to reply this time.

"Are you, or are you not Czech Helios?!!!?", came the yell.

Helios flinched and nodded terrified, "Yes- yes I'm".

"See? Wasn't that easy? We got the bloody right person!".

"Now since you're Helios, quit being such a pretense pussy and pay up the debt. You seem to be doing well, share it will ya?".

"We should intervene…", Jay whispered alert from within the darkness.

"No!", came Wave's firm rejection.

"Why not?", a retort.

"These are the consequences of when Helios was actually alive. It's a decision for him, I wanna see what he does. If he loses it and kills even one, you're in action Jay. And if he gets riled up and still keep it down despite his massive abilities, then…..."

"Then...?"

"Then I might have separate plans for you both", Wave spoke away from Jay's eyes.

It was low hint, he was considering her deep turmoil of murdering the sensitive Rogue, who up until now was never even known to exist. He felt a slight tinge of relief through the female. She has indeed got sub-conscious sense of justice.

Keeping in mind the other fact, where she let her former lover commit uncountable homicides of numerous youths. The contrast was undefinable.

Also, that's because Jay could never see anyone else other than Ace and could actually detect how dark his heart was. He was beyond help.

Current Helios truly bore a heart, too clean for any Raven strangely. Whereas, their species were popular amongst the supernaturalism for being more of a devil than any possible demon. Their origin unknown, but they had hybrid tainted blood.

Things got heated up when Helios's situation came down to physical.

The man continued to keep his protocols unbent as blows after blows were showered on him. Those guys, on not receiving their demands kept ignoring his begging pleas for escape and went on with the assault without break. Helios accepted all of them without even once swapping the color of his iris to dark. He had surrendered and was good at it!

Wave, on the other hand, with all the discomfort and guilt rushing through him heavily, from Jay's leak, found it really difficult to keep his focus on Helios.

The man, getting banged ruefully and robbed off by the local loan sharks, probably was repaying his shitty demeanors from before dying, when he had been a complete asshole. Which was acceptable!

But Jay just wouldn't fucking stop!

She was never the one to give two fucks regarding others, not when people kept being slaughtered to death before her very eyes. So, what part of the situation was making her that restless?

She was literally flinching to every blow on Helios.

The piece did deserve it.

Raven or not, that body had been a worthless addition to humanity which did no good to others. Thus, the Rogue had no good reason to keep himself down and hold on for longer than he already has.

Wave was controlling not to snap at her. The contract side effects were never known to be this devastatingly vicious before. Not more than any bloodlust coming from them.

At the end of the one-sided brawl, Helios was found to be riles up nice and dirty, clothes ripped, money robbed and bruises littering quickly over his face and body. Even though they would heal, a human body would take time. Helios was going through every ounce of that pain and Jay was uselessly taking it all on herself.

They had finally left after their prideful work.

A heinous act of shame to humanity.

"Let's go", Wave finally suggested and came out.

But to his amazement, Jay halted him on his steps as she prevented him from taking the lead and took her own initiative stances towards Helios.

Wave could just stare at her back, lips curling up in a smirk.

But followed her anyways.

Helios was bent over, totally exhausted and heaving. He was supported against the wall where he rested his wounds.

Jay stood over him, the white rose dagger twirling around her index and thumb. She looked down at him, eyes full of venom but expressionless. Wave maintained a good distance of 4 hands, curious to check the Rare's feral move.

Helios gathered up enough strength to lift his eyes up and peak at the shiny blade, recognizing it in a mere second.

A tired chuckle escaped his lips as he nodded shakily.

"I knew someone stank of death from the café", he spoke with a heavy breath.

Jay raised an eyebrow, Helios continued.

"That one, behind you", and Wave smiled knowingly," I prefer ecstatic. Death is such a vulgar word!".

"You know your fate, don't you?", Jay wasn't actually asking.

- Can't you pardon me? I haven't committed any sin.

'You're a sheltered Rogue, that's a major sin for the council!", Wave cut him off. Jay threw him a look of warning.

She made sure that Helios only paid attention to her and then spoke," Your values are proved wrong.

This body have had a worthless life in its former phase. Even though you spread the positivity, expecting the very same back, it's just momentary. No matter what, they wont regard you for this change.

His old life will continue to haunt you. Do you still wish to keep going that way?".

"I thought I could change the beliefs of our species...but I was wrong. But I don't regret not dripping these hands with blood"

"I'm glad you didn't. You're not wrong, the human realm is monstrous. But this, might prove at least one arrogant Raven's belief wrong", Jay looked through her shoulder.

Wave actually smiled honestly at them," It sure did!", he mumbled.

"What do you want, from now onwards?", Jay asked dead serious. Helios could only escape a tired sigh.

"Continue to live and preach useless values....", Jay said," ...or start anew. Your memories will be gone, but you'll have the very same kind soul. Spread your beliefs when you're in a better position and not a Rogue?"

"You seemed to have made the choice for me with those perfect words", Helios laughed lightly," Are you going to do it?".

"Not like I have any say in this, even if you had chosen the first", Jay's expression falls," But I genuinely didn't want this to happen".

"You...you are really different from other Rares. You live up to the very term", his voice laced with gratitude," More of you in this realm, and we wouldn't have to be Rogues. Sagged a good species, eh?".

Wave tched his tongue at the last line.

"Elites get the best, unlike some street rats...…", Jay hissed at him.

"See what I am talking about?", Helios smiled," It's a shame on your part".

"Whatever Rogue!", Wave rolled his eyes," Jay, finish up quick!".

"Wait!", Helios paused suddenly at Wave," Grant me a pardon!".

Jay turned towards Wave for permission.

He tilted his head as an inquiry.

"Let me retain my memories", he requested.

"That's a huge pardon you're asking for", Wave warned," The Council will have both of our bones fed to hellhounds".

"But you're capable of it, all Elites are", he lightly protested, Wave was contemplating," Please!".

"Half of that... consider it as my personal request as well Wave", the cold voice interrupted.

"Alright, for you".
