Transported into an Unknown World

"What is.... What is this?"

My name is Derrick.

And just like any other person on Earth, I had a surname. However, I could not remember it.

But that is something I have to worry about later.

I looked around to see where I am and all I could see was a sea of trees, but no matter where I looked, the place where I am currently standing on was not the place I was familiar.

Judging by the sun, it is already afternoon. Probably around 3pm, so it is not surprising that you can see the moon at this time.

"But no matter how much I looked at it, this isn't earth, is it?"

That was the only answer that I could come up even though I could not believe it.

There are two moons I am currently looking at. One is similar to earth, and one has a tinge of purple. It's probably because the sun is still bright.

Rustle

I put my guard up as I heard a sound behind me.

"What the..."

From a bush just several meters in front of me, a bunny with a black horn with red eyes came charging at me.

I easily dodged its charge attack and not a moment to waste, I unsheathe the katana I'm currently holding in my left hand and immediately attacked the rabbit with a downward slash.

Swish

The downward slash cleanly cut the rabbit's head.

"Phew..."

Sheathing back the katana, I picked up the carcass.

"Wow... This little guy is a bit bigger than the rabbits on earth."

In fact, they were at least twice as big as the rabbit back home.

"Hmmm... I definitely saw its eyes gleaming pure red. Did it lost its color the moment ?"

As I was pondering, a heard a ring inside my head.

[You have leveled up!]

Suddenly, a blue transparent window appeared just in front of me. I got flustered for a second, but returned to normal soon after.

"It's similar to the system back on earth..."

Earth was invaded by beings that proclaimed themselves to be gods. Because of their presence, a small percentage of the earth's population was gifted with strength that defied common sense.

Gifted with such strengths by the gods, they were then sent to rifts, a dimension different from earth.

Inside the rifts were monsters. If a rift breaks or cracks, monsters come pouring out of it and start destroying anything in their path. Conventional weapons are useless against them... Even nukes.

The only way they could be eliminated was through the power of those who were gifted with the "system." Through the power of the system, those who gifted were able to repel the monsters. And soon after, these people started going inside the rifts. They were then referred to as "Hunters."

I was also a Hunter.

However, comparing the system I have right now compared to the system I had back on earth, there are several things I found that I never found on earth's system.

"The system back on earth only displayed the name, class, and age of the Hunter. But this one displayed all and there are also things like strength, agility... This is interesting."

It looks likes my physical attributes are quantified... I don't know if this numbers are considered strong, though...

"Hmm? A magic attribute? Does that mean I can use magic?"

Melee-types or physical type hunters don't use magic but we use skills. Mages are long-range combatants that uses magic or spells.

"I was a melee-type hunter specializing using katanas back on earth, but why does my magic attribute have a higher number than my physical attributes?"

Does that mean I'm a mage?

No... Mages in general have weak physical attributes.

If there are enemies who specializes in speed, they would be killed immediately. That's why there are hunters like Tanks who specializes in defense to cover for them. Hunters gather in groups compromising of Tanks who specializes in defense, attack-type hunters who are in-charge of the offense, and magic-type hunters who specialize in support and long-range spell attacks.

At least that's how it is on earth.

"Are the mages here more physically capable than on earth?"

Looking back at the horned rabbit's attack, its speed was not something any mage on earth could dodge.

Its attack power also felt powerful enough that it could've killed me if I faced the attack head on.

"Haaa... There's no use thinking about it. I should head to where civilization is."

The best course of action right now is to gather information about this world.

"I should check my equipment first."

Checking equipment is something that was engrained in hunters. After all, you can't fight monsters if your equipment are not in good condition.

My weapon right now is a katana. The blade's color is black with a silver lining. When I tried swinging it, it felt so light and the grip feels perfect.

The katana feels like it was exclusively made for me.

Satisfied with it, I then proceed to check my armor, or specifically, what I'm wearing.

No matter how I looked at it, this is a little bit fancy.

Though, the things I'm wearing right now gives me a sense of security and I definitely feel its defensive capability.

"Okay, then... Let's go..."

After making sure everything's in working order, I started looking for civilization.
