Thunderstorm and nobility cause im bored

The pitter patter of rain echoed through the building. A bright light engulfed the room and left as quickly as it came only for the clouds to growl in anger. It's a thunderstorm.

Lady Vanessa, the daughter of a duke couldn't sleep. And no, It was not because she was scared of the lightning. No... It's because the person beneath her was. Every time a lighting occurred, the faint gasp and jump of the commoner could be heard. 'Why am I so unlucky. Couldn't I have gotten a better draw than a commoner.' She thought to herself.

"Erika!" She called out. "Keep quiet. You are ruining my sleep."

"O- of course lady V- VAAAA-" She screamed at the top of her lungs. A very sudden and loud strike hit. Vanessa brought he arms to her ears, blocking the commoners screeching.

"I- I'm sorry la-"

"That's it!" Vanessa stated. She jumped down the bunk bed, pillow in her hand. Using wind magic, she softly landed on the hard, wooden floor. "You should be grateful that its raining, else everybody would've heard your vile screech." She insulted.

"Sorry..." Erika apologised, crestfallen. It wasn't enough that the thunderstorm was scaring her, she was now being scolded by a noblewoman.

Vanessa let out a sigh before telling the commoner: "Scoot over."

"H-huh?"

"Unless I do this, we wont be able to sleep. So scoot over. I'll sleep with you tonight."

"Lady Vanessa, I couldn't do th-" She quickly blocked her mouth as another lightning came down. Vanessa simply raised her eyebrows and let Erika move to the side.

She placed her pillow down, and gently entered the small bed. Erika meanwhile was facing the wall, trying her best not to make any movement in case she accidently touches the noble. Though keeping still would be hard as she was shivering quite violently. Seeing this, Vanessa let out another loud sigh, startling the young girl.

She moved her arms around the commoner and pulled her towards her. "Today, I'm giving you the honour of relying on me. So use it." She ordered, in a gentle tone. "I am tired today, so at least allow me to get some rest."

Erika turned her body, facing Vanessa and stared directly into her eyes. "Thank you." She muttered.

Feeling the heat rise up, Vanessa quickly pulled her face towards her chest. "If you want to thank me, sleep."
