Since Gus had been sent on a 'mission' by Roman, and nutrients weren't put into action as soon as they were eaten, I had little else to do but enjoy Roman's fluffy bed. It called to me like a siren, but I fought it, to Roman's amusement.
"Just sleep."
"Noooo. Hal, Milly, I wanna see Derrick too."
"I can call them here, but you'll be asleep by the time they get here."
I whined some more and forced myself to stay sitting up. The next thing I knew, I woke up with a jolt as I started to fall sideways. Roman had even moved to catch my head.
"Nooo," I said again. "I have to hear about you."
"What about me?" he asked.
"Everything. Stories stories stories."
"I will if you lay down."
"No! Then I'll sleep!"
"And then you won't be tired." He pushed gently on my shoulders and my body gave in before I had.
