We got plenty of eyes as he walked with me through camp. The soldiers kept themselves somewhat separate from the populace, which, from my position high up in Gus's arms, were around the outskirts of the camp. I'd asked why Gus was taking me this way instead of to my house, which for some reason soldiers and refugees alike seemed to be avoiding, and he said something about Roman setting me straight since he already knew I wouldn't listen to him.
"I do listen to you! I just made a mistake! I had a history getting involved - BABIES!!"
"You're not healthy," he said. "In the brain."
"I thought that was a given."
"No, because if you're so baby hungry, why haven't you gotten married yet? It isn't for a lack of options, that much is obvious. What was his name again? The grass-head bear-wrestling guy."
