Lying in his own little pit, Qin Shou found his mind incredibly clear, unable to fall asleep at all!
Clearly, the Spiritual Energy from that magic belt had begun to take effect; his head no longer felt heavy and sleepy like before.
With a clear head came many thoughts, and after pondering back and forth, he couldn't lie still any longer. Raising an eyebrow, he thought to himself, "Since I can't sleep, I might as well go have a good chat with him!"
Thinking this, Qin Shou left the cave, and upon looking up, he noticed that the sky had gradually darkened.
This was truly darkness, but after he looked up, Qin Shou felt like his head was about to explode!
In the sky, still behind the dark clouds, was the overhang of eaves, but at the end of the sky, within the endless void, there was a dazzlingly bright piece of land! This land stretched across the universe, seemingly piercing through it! How large it actually was, Qin Shou couldn't estimate; at least, his eyes couldn't see either end of it.
The land was very far, and Qin Shou couldn't make out what was on it, only able to vaguely discern the mountains... As for the land beneath those mountains, Qin Shou couldn't see the bottom...
"My heavens, it's so big... Is it bigger than the sun?" Qin Shou murmured to himself. After a couple of sighs of awe, his longing for this wondrous world grew even stronger.
Unfortunately, the land was too far away, and with his short legs, he figured he probably couldn't leap over.
Shaking his head, he suppressed the excitement and agitation in his belly and faced the pressing issue of survival. Clenching his teeth, Qin Shou went straight to where Wu Gang was.
But the moment he lifted his leg, Qin Shou heard a whooshing sound above his head!
Qin Shou looked up and saw a dark mass descending from the sky!
With a thud, it landed right in front of Qin Shou!
Qin Shou shook his head, his big ears fluttering like two fans, clearing away the dust to reveal the true form of the thing before him.
"No way... I've heard of swans flying overhead, struck dead by lightning and turning into roast ducks as they fell. But it's my first time seeing a roasted person fall from the sky," Qin Shou mused to himself, and the chubby rabbit head leaned in to take a look. He saw that the person was pitch black, without a single intact thing on their body...
As a rabbit with neither a fearsome head, strength, nor fierce looks—a triple-threat in the useless department, Qin Shou felt a bit cowardly. He didn't dare to approach the figure; instead, he found a small twig and poked at the dark mass from afar.
No response!
He continued to poke!
Still no response!
He shuffled through the other's body, which was all charred and blackened, and after scratching around a bit...
"There's something! It's long and thin!" The rabbit's eyes lit up, thinking he had finally come upon his first bucket of gold. Even though it was scavenged, it was still the fruit of his own strenuous, death-defying labor!
"Eh? Is this a roasted sausage? It's a bit small though..." Qin Shou muttered.
Seemingly struck in a sore spot by this remark, the pitch-black human-shaped creature suddenly moved and cried out, "Water..."
Qin Shou jumped, twirled his stick into what he thought was a fierce, but in reality, ridiculously cute, pose akin to Sun Wukong's staff stance, and shouted, "Halt! Which demon are you from? State your name promptly!"
"Water! I need water."
Qin Shou scratched his head and said, "Speak human language, answer the question!"
"Water... thirsty..."
Qin Shou murmured, "Sounds like a man. Could that be not a sausage? Oh my, lucky I didn't take a bite... would've grossed me out. But he's a bit small though..."
The human-shaped creature, upon hearing this, spewed out a mouthful of old blood. He probably never dreamed that a mere ascension attempt, albeit failed, would result in him encountering such a damn rabbit. He was close to death, just wanting a sip of water, and this damn rabbit, how could it not understand plain speech? All it did was ponder male or female?
The man said, "Water, give me water to drink."
But Qin Shou was still not in any particular rush. After all, there are hardly any people on this moon.
He's but a nobody with a combat strength of merely five, and Chang'e's combat strength was probably negligible, only able to help call for help or chant '666' when push came to shove.
That Wu Gang was an enemy with unresolved betrayals as deep as the Blood Sea; he'd probably relish his death.
This fellow before him, on the other hand, was tall and big, and moreover, he fell from the sky, who knew what he was. Importantly, Qin Shou noticed that this person's wounds were slowly healing! In other words, soon enough, he'd be bouncing back to life!
```
If this were on Earth, Qin Shou wouldn't hesitate to save the person first, be a Lei Feng, and be a good kid.
But here, in a Xianxia world where everything was shrouded in mystery, Qin Shou really feared that once this fellow recovered, he might immediately show his true colors, kill the rabbit and feast on its flesh...
As the saying goes, harboring ill intentions towards others is wrong, but guarding against others is necessary. So Qin Shou decisively chose to play the fool and watch. If the person was good, then saving him was the right thing to do. If things looked bad, he'd just grab a stone and smash the fellow to death.
However, Qin Shou had another trick up his sleeve. Good or bad, to save or not to save was a secondary concern, because I myself was on the brink of death, also waiting to be saved! Therefore, before saving you, you've got to pull out something to save me first!
Ever since Qin Shou devoured the magic belt, he had realized one thing.
First and foremost, he had a great set of teeth. No matter the magic treasure, crunchy when chewed, it became a Great Supplement Pill in his belly!
So, want to survive?
Consumption is the key!
Plucking feathers from a passing goose was not Qin Shou's style, but if a roasted duck fell from the sky, he certainly had to taste it!
Thus, Qin Shou nodded and said, "Oh, you need a drink, huh?"
The man finally understood the human language! He nearly cried with gratitude and quickly said, "Uh-huh."
Qin Shou said, "No problem. What do you want to drink? Coke? Sprite? Fanta? Or maybe coffee, milk, soy milk...?"
"Coke." The other party didn't know what Coke was and thought it was just some type of water, so he replied casually.
The rabbit shook its head with a wagging tail and said, "Don't have any!"
The other party: "..."
The other party: "Then Sprite?"
The rabbit shook its head and said, "Don't have any."
"Fanta?"
"Congratulations!" The rabbit yelled with fake elation.
The man said, "You have it?"
The rabbit shook its head and said, "Still don't have any! Haha..."
The man: "Pfft!"
A mouthful of fresh blood sprayed out again as he angrily asked, "Then what do you have?"
The rabbit spread its paws and said, "To be exact, I've got nothing!"
The man: "...you... never mind, come here..."
The rabbit, suspicious, eyed the man. This guy has such a good temper? That didn't seem likely!
The rabbit inched closer and asked, "What do you want to do?"
"I'm dying, I just want to say a few words to you... no strength left, come closer..." the man said.
The rabbit moved a bit closer.
"Closer." The man said.
The rabbit kept moving closer.
When they were just a hand's distance apart, a ferocious light suddenly shot out from the man's eyes, and he shouted, "Since you have nothing, then your life will do!"
The man's hand shot out, erupting in an attempt to grab Qin Shou!
