Chapter 1:What the…

I woke up to the smell of smoke from piles of burning flesh and steel. The intensity of disparity in the air almost made me scream out but I remained calm.

I told myself that it's a dream knowing it was a reality that I was reborn as a child strapped to the chest of a battle hungry Barbaric father with the audacity to bring his son to the battlefield!!!

"Wooooo!!!" He screamed as he cut threw multiple monsters at the near speed of sound! He used a pair of broad blades held together by a thick steel chain that he span effortlessly despite their unimaginable weight.

"You see that Marcus! That's how your Dad levels the battlefield field with his mere presence!" He chuckled and span his weapons once more and uttered out these very words. "I call upon Crimson to Rain from the heavens upon my enemies under the command of the FATHER OF FIRE!!!" He yelled out as the sky turned an ominous shade of red that scared the monsters themselves.

Dark red fire covered the battlefield field like drops of rain destroying everything in his sight till nothing was left behind but the ashes of what was.

"You see that my boy? Now that's how you conquer your enemies haha!" He yelled happily as he lifted me high up in the air to get a good look at his first born son.

"Edmund Coulthard!! Return my son to the tent this instant!" A woman called out and the tall mascular man with the bulky muscles of a weight lifter shook in fear where he stood.

"C-Coming dear! Your mother can be so demanding sometimes." He laughed nervously as he placed me back on the baby carrier strapped to his chest.

"Yes honey!" He uttered with a wide grin only to receive a smack on his head. "How many times have I told you, not to take our son to the battlefield!?" The beautiful bronze skinned lady asked while gritting her teeth together and her eyes a doomy glow of orange.

"I was giving him a feel of battle, besides, here he is safe and sound!" He said maintaining his smile as he held me infront of my supposed mother. "Gosh I was so worried about you. I am so lucky that you are such a strong boy right from birth!" She said calmly and kissed my forehead.

"Do it again and I will behead you Edmund!" She said before placing me in a baby carriage that was next to her and her advisors. She tacked me in, smiled and got back to business.

"Alright, we have so far secured the northern and eastern front from the Lords of Chaos that wage war against us. My husband and his army have done well destroying their forces but we mustn't soften to the site of our victory. We should keep pushing till there is nothing left to even take back as prisoner." She explained and all her advisers agreed

"That's Champion Sunniva for you!" One of her advisers praised. "Indeed, truly the best scholar in the Province of Fire." Another added as she attended to me. She was a beautiful bronze skinned young lady who looked to be in her early twenties. Her hair was dark and decorated with stripes of orange and red.

Her white dress was decorated with jewelry and light armor for protection against minor enemy attacks. Her eyes were a captivating shade of orange. Truly a beautiful in the eyes of many.

She swiftly picked me up and looked me in the eyes with a smile on her face. "And you shall follow mummy and become a scholar won't you?" She said and I merely nodded much to her delight.

"Nooo he is gonna be a great warrior like his father!!" Edmund snuck in like a snake. "Get back to the battlefield!" She exclaimed while pushing him out of the tent. And that's when it occurred to me. 'Can't I be both?'

Once the battle was over and we were arriving at the city gates, I heard cheers of praise towards my parents over the countless victories they have delivered to their people.

Seeing people dressed in clothing of a fantasy world in the mid 1800s had me wondering how I left my old world and that is when I remembered how I died.
