QT: Nine Tales of the Nine - Tailed [BL]

"In a world where the impossible exists, there is a heart that aches, longing for the one he seeks." Nine lives, nine worlds. Nine hearts – eight shattered, one fulfilled. It all began when the legend that dwells in the depths of the Nanshan Mountains met a human named Xiang Yuze. The legend was revered as a god to believers, as a monster to his victims, or as a being created from just the imagination of the human mind. With his nine silver tails swaying on the edge of a cliff, beneath the bright full moon, casting a soft glow on his ethereal figure, he gazed down at the broken body underneath the precipice. A man he nurtured back to health, moved his beastly heart with his kindness, and taught him how to love. The same man who pierced that silver heart bestowed by the goddess and buried his memories in a void of darkness. With all his memories gone, will he be able to find the man who killed him and exact revenge? Or will his shattered heart, beat once more, for the same man, again and again? ---- [Excerpt] One fateful evening, when Xiang Yuze, a no-name cultivator, was night hunting a formidable creature that had been destroying the peace of his hometown closer to the Nanshan Mountains, he met an accident and fell off the cliff. Believing in the legend that dwells in the mountains, as the old folks in his town claim, Xiang Yuze desperately pleads to survive. The cold wind carried his wishes and in the eerie silence of the forest, his words were delivered and heard by the nine-tailed fox. The legend cared for the dying Xiang Yuze back to health, masking his form with wind, thus, Xiang Yuze had no idea what he was. Slowly, he regained his health and even learned some of the ancient cultivating techniques stored in the legend's abode, and he decided to go back home. The nine-tailed fox allowed him, but Xiang Yuze refused to say farewell without seeing him even just for one time. Fearing that the kind human would be afraid of his form, the nine-tailed fox mimicked the only human form he knew, thus, he transformed into a beautiful male human. ---- 1st Entry - 2nd Tail: Tale of Forgotten Memories [completed] [no mature content] 2nd Entry - 3rd Tail: Tale of the Immortal [on-going] [mature content] ---- Hello, you can send your powerstones, golden tickets, and gifts to support this book! Chapter 9: Make the snowman smile

The impenetrable and stony attitude of the vice president cracked with a slight twitch. His sharp, inscrutable eyes moved up from the scratch of paper to the face situated just inches away from him and Song Yujin.

Mr. Han's face wasn't looking good. His eyes filled with curiosity slid away from them and settled on the paper held by Lee Hyun.

Having been apprehended by Lee Hyun's hand gripping his jaw with his entire hands, Song Yujin panicked at the idea that the teacher would read the content. He unconsciously swatted the vice president's hand away, and ducked forward, snatching the paper.

Lee Hyun, clearly unamused by the commotion, ignored the new student and looked up at the teacher, voicing out his explanation. "Nothing, sir."

Mr. Han's stern gaze swept over them, doubtful of the good student's words and suspicious of the content of the paper. He extended his palm, flicking his fingers on Song Yujin as he commanded, "Give me that paper. I don't think it's just nothing when both of you are trying to hide it. Give it here."

Song Yujin, without hesitation, squeezed the piece of paper until it balled as large as a ring, then threw it in his mouth, swallowing it hard right in the shocked faces of his classmates and teacher.

He gulped and scratched his head, "Sorry, sir, can't let you read it. It's embarrassing since it's my…uh…written love letter."

Everyone gasped at his confession. Song Yujin looked around, their faces a picture of mixed portraits drawn in a caricature style.

What's with those reactions? Their exaggerating! What's wrong with a written love letter… Song Yujin's pupils moved from the crowd to the person sitting before him with his famous nonchalant look, and only then did he realize why the whole class reacted that way.

Mr. Han's interested voice came again, "So, you wrote a love letter to Lee Hyun and was trying to take it back?"

Someone in the crowd coughed like an ill person suffering from chronic bronchitis, and Mr. Hans's curious attention fixed on that person, expressing his worry, he said a bit louder for the student at the far back to hear him, "Kim Hajun, go to the infirmary if you're feeling unwell!"

Kim Hajun answered with difficulty, "N-No…sir, I…uh, I'm f-fine…just itchy, my throat is…"

Mr. Han's attention was momentarily focused away from Song Yujin, so he lightly kicked one of the legs of Lee Hyun's chair to ask for help, but the latter just narrowed his eyes at him, pretending like he become a fool not understanding his plight.

Mr. Han looked at the new student again, sporting an impatient look.

Song Yujin wiped his sweaty forehead furtively and finally answered, "No…not for the vice president, sir. It was uh…for someone. I was just trying to ask Lee Hyun if my grammar was correct and…was just asking for his advice…" his voice trailed off when Mr. Han's expression didn't change.

Song Yujin was flabbergasted. Is he seriously thinking that I wrote a love letter for a man?!... I mean, sure, Lee Hyun is a beauty that I almost hit on the first time we met, but he's a guy! Come on, I don't swing that way!

He grumbled inwardly, tempted to shout those words in the teacher's face. After Mr. Han narrowed his eyes on him and murmurs erupted behind him, Song Yujin finally realized the gravity of his actions.

Lee Hyun is the impenetrable fortress of beauty and brain, known as the cold, handsome prince. He was like an ivory flower on top of a ten-foot brick wall that no ordinary person can pluck easily, a golden fruit forbidden to pick by a no-name farmer, or a trophy displayed on a glass case.

The school perceived Lee Hyun as someone who belonged to their fantasies, but someone they wouldn't let be owned by anyone in reality.

Song Yujin averted his eyes on some of the girls looking at him weirdly. He sighed and explained it clearly, "It's not what you think it is, Mr. Han! I was just trying to—uh, you know, ask for advice from the school's famous student, the student body's crush, and the guy beloved by all the girls on the campus. I'm just…striking a conversation, that's it."

Mr. Han raised an eyebrow. Song Yujin gulped. His throat hurt a bit, probably from swallowing a piece of paper, but more likely because of the nervousness he felt earlier. He coughed and asked the teacher carefully, "Sir, can I go back to my seat now?"

The male teacher who was finding the situation ridiculous sighed and turned away, nodding at Song Yujin as he did so. He decided to let the kid go since it was his first day of school, and he answered the equation on the board correctly.

Song Yujin sighed in relief. He sat back in his seat and briefly glared at Lee Hyun.

Lee Hyun felt Song Yujin's piercing gaze on him, but instead of feeling guilty for leaving the student to defend himself, he made sure that Song Yujin saw him take out a bottle of sanitizer from his bag, and washed his hands with it, particularly the one that touched the new student's face.

A vein popped on Song Yujin's neck. A devious smirk then appeared on his face. The guy was provoking him! But after getting irritated for a second, Song Yujin laughed inwardly, the mischievous cogs in his head started moving, plotting petty tricks to annoy the icy prince.

Let's put a smile on that face, even if it's an impatient smile, an angry smile, or whatever smile! Song Yujin decided. Putting a smile on that stony face of the vice president was just a way to find amusement in that school, but he was now truly interested in making it happen.

Song Yujin wondered what Lee Hyun would look like if those lips stretched upward and reached his eyes. He giggled after imagining it, gaining the attention of some students surrounding his desk.

He flashed his innocent smile at them and continued listening to the teacher, however, his head was already listing the ways to make the impenetrable, snowy fortress, cracked with a smile.
