A little action is a big take

"Mhm, and.." Students talk gossiply at their lunch tables as they ate their lunch or they read the school's new newspaper system, and everyone was happy.

There was news that made everyone excited, including some of the most low borned Fakens too.

Meek was especially excited herself, and tomorrow was marked as a special day for everybody.

The new hot topic was about how tomorrow, June 12 of 2027, was going to be the day this school's 8th graders were going to get a field trip outside of the school, which seemingly normal, but it wasn't.

The outside of this city had like no human life, exactly non. Otherworldly beings took over the sea, sky, and land, so the best thing humans could do was just build cities than rather mess with the new and dangerous species.

In the history book, Crystal Core City was one of the first to be built, as all of the first cities were called the 5 greatest core cities. Apparently when one adventurer was sneaking out of the 3rd ranked city, which is named 'Dawn's End Core City,' they found a strange stone, looking like a diamond but not exactly, and was glowing, on the floor. Picking it up, he received 5 ability and became famous for his discovery. It wasn't a stone, it was a bug. The bug was soon named 'Sunless Bug,' since it really didn't even need the sun. So it was very easy to store it in small spaces or places that has no sun whatsoever.

Glass bottles of Serects were soon made due to the discovery, and more people ventured out into the open, causing another discovery of a Serect Spirit.

After the Secret Spirit was discovered, the humans could now easily take the Curses down, until a new government arose called the Ability Government.

They collected and killed the only things that could make humans stand against the Curses and stored it for themselves, causing couple thousands to not be able to get a Glass bottle of Serects. They were soon called 'Fakens, people without a ability.'

Then, a riot happened and they killed thousands of people who drank the liquid, but was put into their place long ago.

So now, the ability government somehow is still alive and well, but some families were ruined and is still continued to be ruined as generations went by to this day. The first person to ever even find the Sunless Bug, who was named 'Hade Fawn,' was the first X-class person to exist, and survived the riot, causing different types of riots attempting to kill his family and ruin it, but somehow they are still alive and well to this day.

As for the Curses, they increased drastically in difficulty, adapting and getting new looks plus protection from the humans who were named Unities, and now humans decided it was best not to mess with them much before they start to adapt to more of they powers.

Meek Gravefield was from a rich and famous family, called the Gravefields.

They run some of the most successful businesses in this city, which is one of the 5 greatest cities out of 20, named 'Crystal Core City.'

She also goes to a fancy private school named Sheila Middle School, which are supposed to be only for Unities, but Fated Locks that rarely show up are here and Fakens nobody gives a damn about.

Good for Meek, because she somehow can't run the family's business if her ability is going to be a weak one, which is called 'Star Seeker,' and nobody really knows what that ability is.

It was graded as a FF-Class, and since the highest grade you can get is XXX-Class, only just 2 people actually had gotten, was that far away, she was most likely going to not climb the title of even a A-class.

The trip outside was extremely important to her, since she wanted to discover new things herself. She was even lucky that nobody at her school really messes with her, since if they did, her family's business will threaten them..

"Meek? Meek, where's my paper?" A voice snapped Meek put of her thoughts, and she sighed heavily on the inside, because even with a rich and powerful family, it doesn't matter if the person bothering you is your own family member.

Light Gravefield and Grace Gravefield stepped up to her table she was sitting at, staring suspendedly down at her.

The voice belonged to Light Gravefield, her brother and the twin of Grace Gravefield.

"Meek..? Yea, I know you can hear me loud and clear Meek." Light snorted and tapped his foot. The faded green school uniform he had on was matching his pale green eyes, and his short but curly hair slightly covered his eyes.

"Um, brother? I don't have it, sorry.. left it at home." Meek said in a nervous tone. She had short brown hair, a faded green school uniform, and bracelets twined around her arms.

"I think you actually do, Meek. Match your personality with your name and give it here," Grace said sarcastically, but also in a solemn tone. Grace had long black hair that was tied up into two buns, a bunch of accessories spreaded out and scattered around in the buns. Her faded green school uniform was covered with a jacket that was a matching line green and her pale green eyes were dark with the circle glasses she wore, making the pale green a dark green.

They really thought that they were twins, but Meek knew that they were born the same day, same hour, but from different, completely different mothers.

Grace reached out her hand, aloofness her expression she wore, as she expected a paper to be handed to her.

"Well?" She said, and Meek finally gave up and took out a neatly folded paper from her backpack. Glaring slightly, but making sure her older siblings couldn't see, she placed the paper in her sister's hand.

"Here you go..-"

Slap!

Light smirked as he slapped Meek's face. "Oh, sorry, my hand slipped. I thought you didn't bring it?" He idly questioned Meek. "Mhm, I'm telling mother that you did this."

Grace was looking at the paper the whole time, and at her brother's words, a light beam appeared in her hand, forming a small knife, then she cut her own brothers arm.

It was a large cut, but Light only said a little ouch, then smiled, hiding the pain in his eyes.

"I have proof! Even if you have your.. Star Seeker ability, you can still have weapons, correct?" And he laughed as he used his own ability, teleportation, to go back to his class.

Meek just stared at the place her siblings were, now gone. 'Did she.. just cut his arm?'

"..what?"

"She just harmed her sister then her brother."

"I thought that family was perfect or whatever? Or was the that interview a fake."

Whispers came from all around the lunchroom, some questioning the encounter just now or the reason behind it.

"I think she is just useless for real." Some female student said to her friends.

"Well, 'Star Seeker,' so nobody really knows what that is supposed to do. Even the hall of abilities in the whole history of when the abilities even appeared doesn't have the name of that there." A male student this time said to a random friend group of girls, and they agreed with him.

Meek was basically just humiliated in front of the school, which only happens outside of it or at her home, now exposing some true colors of the family.

*****************************

Meek walked back home, this time not taking any bus. Her excitement vanished completely. 'I.. really might be in trouble now..' that was the only thing her mind was really focused on.

The lights of Crystal Core City was beautiful, glowing light yellow and some white, the market that Meek usually pasts was covered in all different types of lights. Red, orange, green, purple and blue. They made the darkening sky much more prettier than it's supposed to be.

It was definitely not a pretty day for Meek.

*****************************

Meek finally came home, beaten about the fact that she really, just really, might be in trouble.

Since her ability was useless, her parents doesn't spare a lot of time for her, and barely bother her, but still kind of treat her fairly.

Still gave her food, water, shelter. There was a reason for that, and the reason was because the Gravefields needed to keep their reputation up.

Reputation seemed as everything to her parents, next to their business. If they lost their reputation, it will mean that the customers or buyers will lose trust or just stop completely buying from them and protest against them, even some of the smaller but rich families will take that chance gratefully to just destroy such a powerful rival.

Opening the door slowly, Meek was immediately confronted by her mother, Jara, and the twins, Light and Grace.

I forgot about the tags oh..
