The real reason

Harold had just finished reading the note, his expression; that of anger. "Sik is getting on my nerves, he wasn't successful in killing me and taking my kingdom, but now he really wants to destroy me telling me to go towards the west to meet him. Knowing fully well that the west is filled with many fierce and deadly monsters and for sure he used an irresistible bait; my wife", Harold thought to himself.

He looked at the two standing in front of him.

"Go rest now, thank you", he said.

"Gavin!", he called out. Hearing his name, Gavin stopped and turned around, "yes my lord" Gavin replied.

"After. two days of rest, gather the troops so we can move out, we'll leave for the west three days from now", Harold said.

His expression one of confusion as he stammered "b-but my lord, the west is filled with many fierce and deadly monsters".

'Yes I know and we'll be going through them", Harold said with a devilish grin.

"But my lord, it's too dangerous".

"Do as I say, it's an order", Harold roared in anger.

"Y-yes my lord", Gavin said with a bow as he the turned around and ran out of the throne room in fear.

After Gavin went out, Harold relaxed himself, taking deep breaths. "Haa! Sik, I will be sure to kill you this time, I will not just pierce your body with my sword, but I'll sever your limbs, all of it", Harold said to himself.

Gavin ran out of the room, now relaxed, he went around and told each and every one of the soldiers to all go home and rest and reassemble after two days. He then went back into the castle, on his way to the room prepared for him, he met Sheila. He smiled at her and she smiled back as her face reddened. On reaching her, he held her by the waist.

"How is my beloved fairing?" he asked.

"I'm doing well, thanks for asking" Sheila replied.

"If I may ask, why were you running out of the throne room in such manner", she asked.

"I just had to run out of there or I would be yearning for you in the afterlife", Gavin answered.

"Why would you say that?, you know that can't happen and if anyone dares harm you I would kill that person", she said

"Well, for why I would say that is because it's almost like the king is going crazy, and you know no one can harm me that easily, so no need to be fired up, my tawny tigress".

"And by the way, why did the king call you back?", she asked.

"Oh! yes, he wants me to gather the troops after the days to go rescue his wife".

"Why almost everyone?".

"We'll be going to the west, his wife was taken that way".

"Oh I see, but the west is full of many fierce and deadly monsters, right?".

"Yeah, and according to the king, we'll be going through them".

"Huh! I'm tired now, I want to go take a nap", Gavin said yawning.

"At least, let me help you relax", Sheila said putting her hands around his neck.

"Ok".

"Come", she said pulling him by the hand.

Harold still sitting on his throne, smiling at himself for a few minutes more before rising up from the throne. He walked out of the throne room, towards his chamber to rest. Entering his chamber, now seeing a well arranged room, thanks to the soldiers that arranged it as they searched around the castle. He removed his amour and went to take a bath, he came out ten minutes later, drying his hair with a cloth. He wore a loose garment, walked to the bed and laid down on it and soon slept off.

Gavin was in a room, currently he was lying down on the bed with Sheila in his arms, her head on his chest, they were covered by a mattress as they both were naked.

"That was great" he said.

"I'm glad you enjoyed it", she said rubbing his chest.

"If I may ask, why did Sik abduct the lady?" she asked raising her head to look at Gavin's face clearly.

"Well you see, they are arch enemies so I guess he's targeting the king but using his wife as bait", he replied. "Because making him move westward, I guess that his only ulterior motive", Gavin added.

"But what caused the feud?" she asked

"Well it's a long story, but cutting it short, I would say; they've been fighting each other for decades now but Sik has sworn to take the king down after he ambushed and killed many his family members including the family head and his father", he answered her.

"But why would the king ambush them just like that?" she asked.

"Some of Sik's family members r*ped and killed the king's beloved cousin and it was done under the order of their family head" he replied.

"Well, all this happened before he became king after his father" Gavin added. Sheila nodded her head and sighed , laying her head back on Gavin's chest.
