MOUNTALY, MASAN...
A week had gone by, and Zoey preferred to keep staying at Mountaly with Denzel. Denzel also cherished the way she kept him company since he hadn't seen anyone for the last two years.
"Denzel good morning!"
Denzel came out of his tent when he heard her voice.
"Good morni-" Denzel saw that she had carried her load and she was ready to leave. "You are ready to go?"
"Yes, or should I stay behind?"
"You shouldn't please, you have been a nuisance here, and I don't know why you didn't take off earlier."
Zoey pouted, and scowled her face to Denzel, she didn't anticipate that reply from him, she thought he was at least going to be friendlier to her when she decided to leave.
Denzel despised the fact that she was about to leave, but he didn't want to be all nice to her, he wasn't ready to show anyone his friendly nature.
"Forget it, dummy... I only waited because I grew fond of you, maybe I probably wasted my time..." Zoey said, still scowling her face.
Denzel smiled, he knew why she stayed behind, and he wished she could stay with him a little. He didn't trust her, but unlike Leia, she was a jovial person, just like him.
It was during her stay with him that he noticed Leia never told him anything much about her. He discovered it once, but he was just stupid to take note of it.
"Huh!" Zoey said the moment she glanced at Denzel and saw him smile. That was the first time he ever smiled at her. "You know, you should smile more, Denzel, you look charming when you do."
The smile on Denzel's face vanished the moment she said that and when Zoey noticed that, she smiled at him and turned her back.
"Denzel, I don't know if you have chosen to live the rest of your life here at this forest, but if you change your mind... if you ever decide to come back to Hilldale, I hope the heavens will give us a chance to meet in the future." Zoey said to Denzel without turning to take a look at him.
"Yeah..."
Zoey began to walk away, and Denzel turned back to begin his daily exercise. He pulled off his shirt and wore an armless shirt, he also pulled off his pants and replaced them with a short.
It wasn't even up to five minutes when Denzel saw Zoey walk towards him, and he ceased the exercise he was doing at that moment. He wondered what went wrong and why she would even want to come back.
'Was she fooling me when she said she was leaving, or does she just miss me?' Denzel said to himself shaking his head left and right.
"Did you miss anything?"
"No... I have just forgotten the way back."
"Huh? It was only a week you used here, how could you forget it?"
"Nothing..."
"Ahh!" Denzel said grazing his head and he walked past her. "Follow me." He said.
They wandered for about fifteen minutes, and Zoey was already starting to think he was just taking her in circles. Everywhere looked the same and she didn't know where she was at that moment.
"Denzel, are you sure we are taking the right path?"
"Just shut up and follow me."
"...That's mean..."
For a minute, Denzel recalled Ted's attitude and he missed him, he didn't know what would have been of Ted at that moment.
After walking for an additional five minutes, Zoey was already starting to see the road that she followed to come.
"How do you even know the way?"
"I know basically everywhere from this entrance to where I stay at this woods... I mean... I live here, it's only natural I would know it." Denzel stopped walking and he lifted both hands, swinging it to her she should keep moving.
"At least you should be able to get the way from here."
"Hmm... Maybe."
'How is she still not sure?' Denzel thought to himself and looked at her as she got to the road. ' How did she even get here in the first place?' He thought again.
He was about to ask her when he saw her walking towards a bike. It was quite dusty and she used a Napkin that she had with her to clean the seat of the bike.
She sat on it and drove off and Denzel turned his back to leave. The sound of the bike began to fade away and he was sure she had left.
'She is quite fun...' He thought to himself once again, and he stopped walking when he began to hear the sound of the bike getting louder.
He walked back to the entrance and saw her drive towards him.
"What's it again?"
"I... I... Don't remember the road to get out of Mountaly." She said scratching her head, smiling.
"Hmph..." Denzel smiled and hissed. He moved to her and used his hands to give a sign to her to move away.
He began to transform into his eagle form, slowly, and that was when he noticed that it had been a long time since he did anything as an eagle.
Zoey was shocked, seeing him transform, it only meant one thing, that he is also a BEAST. She wasn't scared, she was only shocked to find out that a Beast could still be alive at that moment.
While she was still looking at him, She saw a brief illusion of her baby brother that was killed at childbirth, and it was like she saw her younger brother at her front.
'Is this what my Lil bro would have looked like if he wasn't killed?' She thought smiling and tears almost fell from her eyes.
"Get on.." Those words came out of the eagle's mouth.
"Wow, it can talk too.." She replied and walked towards the eagle. She got on its back and Denzel flew away.
While they were flying, Zoey could hardly see the houses that were below, as he was moving fast, but Denzel could see everything.
"Zoey, if I ever arrive at Hilldale, and I hear the news about me being a Beast, it's only going to mean that you never want to see again because it would mean you just want me dead," Denzel said and Zoey listened carefully since she could barely hear what he said. She tried to talk but the whole wind gushing at her face made it impossible for her to say a thing.
After some minutes, Denzel could sight the large gate that was made to separate Mountaly from the city that came after it and he glided slowly, descending to the ground.
"Thank you... And about what you said earlier, I promise you that you won't hear a thing about it."
"Okay, I am off then..."
"Wait... My bike..."
"Just forget it and take the bus to Hilldale," Denzel said and took off.
"How harsh of him..." Zoey said and acted like she wanted to throw a punch at him.
She took out her purse and checked the money she had left with her. It was quite enough to get her back home.
'At least, this would do..' She said and walked towards the gate. Just as she came in, she put a code into a screen that was at the front of the gate. Only a few people knew the code, and Zoey guessed it, as she kept on trying different four numbers that would be correct. She was only lucky that the lock didn't have a limit to how many times you could try the code when you get it wrong.
"5, 9, 0, 4..." She said as she input the numbers into the screen lock and she heard a beep saying it had opened. She paused and wrote something on the gate and walked out of it. "Thank the heavens that I didn't forget it.."
The moment she took two steps away from the gate, she heard a loud sound, as the gate shut itself, in a very fast way. Anyone stuck there would be crushed by the gate.
