Susanoo Fight!

(A/N: I didn't expect that many of you actually like the conversations and interactions between the characters without the actual fighting. I'll keep that in mind regarding the story from now on. That being said, I hope you'll enjoy today's chapter. 😊)

(3rd person POV)

On a lake, Kakashi could be seen, barely able to stand on the water as exhaustion was overcoming him. Asuma and Kurenai were standing still beside him, their eyes closed as they stood facing two opponents, Itachi Uchiha and Kisame Hoshigaki.

'Why didn't he kill me?' – Kakashi thought to himself.

"Are you here for Sasuke?" -Kakashi asked Itachi, the other party looking stoically at him.

As Itachi made to answer, he quickly noticed something as his Sharingan rotated, twisting his hand, making a few shurikens appearing and immediately throwing them. The shuriken hit each other as they changed directions multiple times until two of them headed towards a tree.

As they went through the leaves, a figure mask deflected the two shurikens as he flickered into the water surface.

"Your visual prowess is nothing less than what I've been told."

Appearing in the lake was Neji, his height still falling short when compared to the people present, as was his presence.

Looking at the person who just appeared Itachi's eyes fell on Neji's closed eyes, though by the veins on the side, Itachi could easily discern that Neji could see him just as well, while his genjutsu would not reach Neji.

While effective in this case, Itachi was not alone, and he was still much more skilled than Neji, whilst being older. Even in his condition, Neji wouldn't be a problem for Itachi. His eyes were merely the fastest way to cast genjutsu, not the only.

"Asuma-sensei, Hokage's orders are to evacuate the area. No one is to approach, not even shinobi's."

"… Be careful."

Without uttering a word, Asuma and Kurenai grabbed Kakashi in front of them and retreated.

As Itachi opened his mouth to talk, Neji burst forward with speed, a wave forming behind him as he closed in on Itachi. As Itachi weaved through signs, a giant fireball appeared before him that headed towards Neji, only for him to flicker at the last moment, before appearing a few meters in front of Itachi as he raised two fingers, an explosion following afterward.

As the now revealed shadow clone exploded, Itachi and Kisame could be seen jumping out of the smoke untouched and retreating backward.

Not a second after they landed a voice was heard behind Kisame.

"Not bad for a kid huh, he came up with the strategy to send you to me himself, it lowered my chances of being noticed by Itachi tremendously. I think I was right in recruiting him."

Kisame didn't even turn towards the direction of the person speaking as his sword moved and cut through him, only for Kisame's eyes to widen as the child turned into a puddle of water.

(Mc POV)

Appearing behind Kisame once again, My foot planted firmly through chakra, I used all my mass and physical prowess to land a punch on Kisame, his sword moving fast in a defensive position as my fist connected with it, pushing the sword into Kisame's back and then launching Kisame into the opposite direction.

It wouldn't be enough to kill him, but it was enough for now… I left him a present this time.

As I was thinking a red skeleton started forming around me, hand extending as it reached out and stopped another ethereal hand, holding it by the wrist, this one quite a lot more complete, swinging a sword and aiming for me. That wasn't what surprised me though, it was bound that my actions would make Itachi believe that I was only profiting from Sasuke's situation. He knew I was manipulating him.

What surprised me was that from this short encounter, his eyes seemed much more alive than they should have. It might be connected to the fact that he never used a Tsukuyomi of a certain magnitude on Izumi… or simply my actions had led to him taking different decisions and not using his eyes as much. Either way, his eyes were strong, and by the way he looked at mine, he knew mine had much more life in them than his, he couldn't prolong the battle.

I knew I could outlast him if it came to that point, but that sword was dangerous. The Totsuka blade could seal me away, and I was not very fond of that. Looking at my Susanoo, half-completed and merely a skeleton, it fell quite behind Itachi's fully armored Susanoo. Even as I stood there locking eyes with him, I could feel my Susanoo slowly buckling under the strength of Itachi's Susanoo. To Uchiha's, once these eyes were gained, years of training were reduced to nothing in front of them. The more powerful the eyes, the more power you wielded… which was why I was surprised by Itachi's strength.

As Itachi looked at me, his Mangekyou slowly rotated as his Susanoo's arm moved as it started to push back my Susanoo's arm holding his wrist.

Itachi probably knew about my battle with the Hokage, the new bingo book contained that much information, probably why the Susanoo was his first choice, it was hard to penetrate and with the shield, nearly impossible for me. I had yet to gather enough mass that would allow me to punch through a fully armored Susanoo in one punch, though I could do it in several if it wasn't for that sword. A prolonged battle would allow me to win, but that sword, only my own Susanoo could actually block it, and even then it wouldn't be by directly touching the sword.

That being said, I had something that could contain something of that size long enough to try the new trick with my Susanoo. It wouldn't be as effective as the original, but it would suffice this time.

Moving fast, my Susanoo dispersed as I flickered around Itachi's Susanoo, his eyes, following me, together with the Totsuka blade, he calculated my positions, trying to intercept me as I maneuvered around him. It was only for a few seconds, and yet it was enough, I had been expelling my chakra all around me, contaminating our battlefield. Normally all I would have to do is expel it from my standing point, but the Susanoo's presence and chakra didn't allow mine to litter around for too long before being overwritten by its own.

Not a second later I flickered once again, my shadow clone bursting forth from underground and planting his hand in the ground before him as countless giant golden chains burst forward from the ground, tying up Itachi's Susanoo as I appeared behind Itachi's Susanoo, my won Susanoo rising and doing something that made even Itachi's eyes go wide, opening its skeleton mouth and biting into his Susanoo's shoulder.

(A/N: I don't know how to feel about this chapter, Itachi is one of my absolute favorite characters, which was why I noticed he is brilliant for a shinobi, but in any direct fight that doesn't include a Susanoo, Kei would destroy him. I'm not using Amaterasu, because we've seen it being dodged and Itachi would be smart enough not to waste his eyes on that unless he had absolute certainty. But Itachi had great foresight and tactical thinking so I have something in mind, though not anytime near. That being said I hope you enjoy it.)
