He emptied his spare change out of his pockets, and it wasn’t enough but the dark look on his face must have convinced the driver, for nothing was said. His phone buzzed in his pocket as the bus pulled away, but Shane ignored it.

For one night—just one—he was going to forget about the whole stupid sodding mess.

“Wow,” Luke breathed.

Shane fumbled for the bin, stretching out from under the warm of the duvet to reach, and the moment the used condom had been abandoned, Luke was reeling him back in with hands in his hair and an insistent mouth.

“That was savage,” Luke whispered against Shane’s tongue, then laughed and nipped at his bottom lip. “What happened?”

“Had a row with Chloe,” Shane mumbled, shifting to the side and settling, nose pressed to Luke’s jaw. Luke wriggled, an arm sliding under Shane’s ribs, and then they were tangled in a half-hug, still too hot and slightly sticky.

“Can you argue with her more?”

Shane chuckled.

“Please?” Luke wheedled.
