The Western Front

Kal-El's red eyes brimming with power as he releases his beam of energy across the bunkers over the beachhead. With one swift motion, the many lines of once formidable German defense were obliterated and destroyed.

He moved closer to the German defenses where he saw them trying their best to regroup under all the chaos.

Seeing Kal-El before them, one of the German officers ordered their men to fire upon him.

Aiming their Kar98K bolt action rifle, the German soldiers relentless fired their shots at Kal-El.

Unfortunately, the fired shots did little to stop Kal-El from closing the distance and knocking the group of soldiers out cold.

While Kal-El normally does not hesitate to kill his enemies, these people were most likely conscripted into service and put against their will. The fact that he wasn't even tickled by their weapons made things a little anticlimactic as the 'battle' continued.

Landing closer to the man made trenches, Kal-El's sole presence brought fear within the German line. With no other means to defend themselves, they continued trying to shoot Kal-El until their bullets runs out.

Clearly frustrated at Kal-El, one of the bigger German soldiers rushes over at him with a knife.

Raising his eyebrow, Kal-El could effortlessly dodged this attack but instead chooses not too.

With a great thrust motion, the German soldier plunges the blade aiming at Kal-El's heart.

Clank!

The blade breaks apart upon the impact. With the other German soldiers seeing this in disbelief, they all felt their hopes of defending this beach head vanishing.

So, one by one, they dropped their weapons and raised their arms to surrender.

The German solider who tried to kill Kal-El was looking at his fellow comrades in anger as they surrendered to one man. In his hysteria, the man picks up a rifle and aimed straight towards his own forces.

Kal-El sensing this quickly took a hold of the man and held him by the throat. While Kal-El could appreciated that man's loyalty to his beliefs, killing his own men on the other hand was something cowardly and heinous.

Kal-El's eyes glowed red with energy as he was contemplating killing the officer. But knowing that by him living to see the downfall of his so called superior race will be a fitting punishment for him. Death is often times too easy of a punishment for cowards such as this.

With a toss, Kal-El throws the big officer towards the group of surrendered soldiers.

"Make sure he is subdued." Kal-El spoke in perfect German tongue.

The soldiers were quite surprised with Kal-El's fluent usage of their language before nodding quickly. They have no love or sympathy for an officer that was literally just willing to kill them for some ideology that some here didn't even believe in.

With a quick burst of air, Kal-El takes to the sky in a matter of seconds. Scanning the battlefield, he continues finishing up his work here.

Within 40 mins or so, Kal-El was able to subdue the majority of the German defense on Omaha beach. Shortly after, the 1st and 29th Infantry Division of US soldiers were able to effectively scale the beach head without much trouble.

Seeing the rounded up German soldiers, the US troops whistled in shock and awe. Looking at the destroyed German defenses and the level fortitude, the taking of this beach head could have been very bloody and costly.

Seeing the flash of red outline in the sky, many soldiers talked among themselves about what just occurred.

One solider looked at the cross necklace that was given to him by his mother back at home at the States.

"Momma, maybe going to church once in a while really do help." He mutterers softly kissing his necklace.

Many other soldiers also had similar thoughts of gratitude. While their superiors wouldn't say it to their face, many knew that this day was supposed to be very bloody. They are just glad that they were able to overcome this dreadful day.

Kal-El didn't stop to celebrate the minor victory for himself as he continued onward. Moving towards operation Utah beach, Kal-El was able to similarly bring the German defenses to their knees with his overwhelming strength and speed.

Kal-El literally smashed run into the German bunkers and knocked out the defenders into submission. No type of bullets or conventional weaponry had any effect on him. While Kal-El was happy that he was able to sweep through with out many hassles, his inner warrior blood screamed for a challenge.

In so, this continued throughout the day as he flew around the coastal regions after costal regions creating heavy damages to the German defenses. Kal-El was able to provide much assistance to the Commonwealth army with their operations of Juno, Gold, and Sword.

The British and Canadian forces were also elated when they approached the beaches with minimal casualties and saw the rounded up German defenders tied up.

The Allied soldiers were in awe of a man with the symbol "S" who many would now nickname Superman.

Superman's help with the initial invasion made it significantly easier for the Allied troops to march forward at unprecedented speeds. The Allies initial thoughts before the invasion were optimistic, but now, the results due to "Superman" moved things at unparalleled speeds.

Supreme Allied Commander General Dwight D. Eisenhower could not believe the reports that were coming in. He thought that his men were drinking again but more reports kept rolling in. The US government has been monitoring these so-called 'meta-humans' in recent years, but it was kept under wraps from the public, could this "Superman" be a meta-human acting in the well being of this country? While Eisenhower is still cautious of the man, he isn't complaining. The war takes precedence and that type of worry can be brought up later after they win.

Looking over to his cabinet members, Eisenhower has made up his mind to call President Franklin D. Roosevelt of the good news. While he wanted to give his soldiers all the credit, the mysterious being that assisted them could not be hidden now since every soldier saw him in action.

Sighing, Eisenhower lit his cigar looking out the window. The world was changing now, hopefully for the better.

Themyscira

Diana, princess of Themyscira, is now a fully matured young woman. She is a tall fair-skinned woman with her raven black straight waist length hair, blue shimmering eyes, and broad shoulders. Being the daughter of Zeus meant that she was ageless and very attractive especially with her voluptuous frame with a considerable large bust and well-toned strong muscular build. Years of training within the small pockets near the Gate of Tartarus has not made a single blemish on her beautiful face.

While this was all true, audiences were never given a glimpse of her smile or change of emotion within her always stoic face.

The 'betrayal' of her friend, Astra, has left her devoid of many emotions and left her feeling incomplete.

Even so, no one on this island can deny Diana of her position now as heir to the mantle of Queen.

Diana is only twenty-two years old, but has become one of the most powerful figures on the island. Her strength rivaled even her mother and most demi-gods her age.

Standing now among her sisters and mother, her moment of celebration was underway. For the recent few years now, Diana has been completing a series of quests to obtain blessings from the Gods themselves.

As of today, Diana has now completed all of the Quests needed for her title of 'Wonder Woman' given by the Gods.

Among her sisters, many were actually happy for her. They showered her with smiles and nods of appreciation for her accomplishment. Warriors that understand hard work and dedication could see that Diana was no pushover despite her age. But some had eyes of envy behind those smiles.

Donna Troy, her second in command, was not one to hide her discontent over the whole ceremony. In fact, she was one of the Amazons in the beginning to protest how it was unfair that the gods had not chosen any other daughter of the amazons to go on these series of quests. She argued that the Gods were playing favorites and that any other daughter here on the island can accomplish the same thing that Diana has done. But instead, they weren't afforded the chance to do so.

Behind her silence, Diana is able to make out the eyes of jealousy and hatred among them. It looks like she needs to make an example out of Donna once again. It seems like violence if the one force holding Donna and her group of troublemakers.

Diana continued walking until she stopped close to her mother, Hippolyta. While Diana didn't mention anything concerning Astra over the years, she couldn't help but feel something was amiss. Her mother's whole demeanor changed too quickly for Diana to understand. There had to be something else going.

The recent quests by the once silent Gods are a little suspicious. While she is grateful for the blessings of power, Diana can't help but feel that it is a little rushed. After her training from the small portals, Diana was bombarded with a series of quests that even further improve and given her abilities to those of the actual Gods.

Tightening her fist, Diana's thoughts drift off to Astra or Kal-El. She wonders if her current self is able to be content against him. Diana wonders if he was out there in the world. He promised that they would one day explore together.

Feeling the usual tightening of her chest, Diana quickly throws away the thought.

No, her world is here with her sisters and mother defending the Gods from dangers. There is no higher glory and honor…

Clearing her throat, Hippolyta signaled for the ceremony to begin. A fire was lit around the palace as sisters watched from the sides. Hippolyta then approaches Diana with two boxes decorated with the Olympian symbol of Omega.

"Diana, my daughter, your accomplishments of the quests given by the Gods will not go unrewarded. Forge by the hammers and fire of the God Hephaestus himself, Zeus has decided to award you with these armaments."

Hippolyta opens the boxes revealing a golden lasso in one, a silver bracer, and a golden tiara.

"The Bracers of submission forged through Zeus's own legendary Aegis shield will allow you to reflect dangers away from you. The golden tiara, a symbol of your title Wonder Woman, will represent your royal status to all of Olympian's sphere of influence. Enemies will learn to fear you and allies will come to love you. Lastly, the lasso of truth forged through the fires of Hestia will compel any being to tell the truth within their hearts. No man or being will ever deceive you with this my daughter."

Diana's eyes stared at Lasso for some time before she bowed her head towards Hippolyta. The ceremony ended with a small food and gathering as people had their fun. Diana, holding on to her new armor and weaponry couldn't help but feel a little empty.

If it was years ago, Diana would have been ecstatic about this moment, but now it did little to fill her empty void within herself.

Seeing as how even this moment of celebration has not cracked a smile within Diana, Hippolyta felt pity for her daughter.

Making sure to offer some sacrifice to Aphrodite, Hippolyta hopes that somehow and some way her daughter can find happiness again.

Hippolyta was about to walk over to her daughter to personally congratulate her when her guard rushed over to her.

Diana seeing this looks up to her mother who looked back towards her. The guard besides Hippolyta continues whispering as Diana wishes she could make out her words.

After a few moments, Hippolyta walks over to her daughter.

"Come with me Diana, it seems that your true test has now begun."

Diana looks confused at her mother before she continues.

"There has been a crashed pilot of some sorts. A man is here on this island."

Hey guys, once again I've been busy with upcoming exams for my college classes. Updates might be slower than usual since I need to prepare for that. Even so, thanks for reading.
