Julian observed him closely, Klaus's shoulder-length, greyish-black hair cascaded around him as he deftly gathered it up, his fingers moving with practiced precision to wrap it into a tight bun.
"Hmm," Klaus softly hummed as his grip on his sword tightened, his eyes fixated on the guards drawing near.
While Harold takes out a violin out of his bag that he had been carrying with him all the time and Julian just noticed.
"Let's make their misery easy, shall we?" Harold suggested, his tone calm yet resolute as he took out bow of his violin, commencing a melody that was both low and intense.
Two guards lunged towards him, one holding a spear and the other wielding a long sword.
Their weapons aimed straight for Klaus's head, but he anticipated their moves, With a fluid motion, Klaus swung his sword towards the spear-wielder, slicing through his torso as he takes his spear off his hand while stunning the sword wielder with a punch on his nose.
Harold's violin wailed intensely and loudly, its mournful notes intertwining with the cries of agony from the wounded guards.
As the sword-wielding guard staggered back from the force of Klaus's blow, stunned, Klaus wasted no time. With a skillful spin of the spear, he launched it with swift precision at another guard standing behind the first two. Startled, the targeted guard barely had time to react before the spear found its mark, piercing his chest.
Julian watched the gruesome scene unfold before him, his expression a mix of shock and disbelief, while Harold looked away as he continued playing the piece.
Klaus surveyed his surroundings after dispatching three of the guards, his pupils shrinking as they moved with surprising speed, scanning the area. Gina, who appeared to be the guards' commander, had already vanished.
One of the remaining guards stepped forward and yelled, "Die, you monster!" But before he could finish his sentence, Klaus's sword was already thrust into his mouth, piercing through and emerging from the back of his skull. Blood splattered onto Klaus's face, soaking his light beard slightly.
The other guards looked visibly shaken. Four of them advanced, attempting to outnumber Klaus, surrounding him from all sides. Two wielded spears, one brandished a sword, and the other held a shield and spear.
"Surround him and mince this bastard's meat!" one of them shouted.
Klaus scanned his surroundings as one of the remaining guards approached Harold and Julian, while the other four closed in on him.
As one of the guards thrust his spear towards Klaus's head and another swung at his torso, time seemed to slow down for Klaus. He focused, observing each movement with calculated precision.
Raising his hand, Klaus directed it towards two of the guards and whispered,
"Sunkèn tu dum."
His palm began to glow with a bright red light, almost pulsating. Suddenly, a powerful blast erupted from his hand, tearing the two guards apart into hundreds of pieces, their flesh scattering in all directions.
Though everything seemed slowed down for Klaus, for the others, it was as quick as a blink.
"Huh... S-Sorcery!" one of the remaining guards exclaimed, staring in shock at the gruesome remnants of their comrades.
"What was that!?" Julian exclaimed, his gaze fixed on Klaus. The guard who had approached them stood stunned, completely taken aback. Meanwhile, Harold, quick on his feet, rose and set his violin and bow aside.
He retrieved a dagger from his boot and swiftly wrapped his arm around the guard from behind. "Rest in peace, you poor soul," he whispered, before slitting the guard's throat.
As Klaus swung his sword overhead, he sliced through both of the remaining guards' torsos in one fluid motion. Their bodies seemed to separate in perfect synchrony, leaving only blood and bones in their wake.
The two remaining guards turned and fled, screaming, "Aahhhh, monster! Run!"
Klaus slowly knelt down, retrieving the spear from the ground. With a focused determination, he prepared to throw it at the fleeing guards, who ran in a straight line through the woods. With a deep breath, he whispered, "Foulsé," and hurled the spear with lightning speed, piercing both of them in the chest at once.
"Fuck..." Julian whispered, collapsing to the ground in disbelief, the surreal scene unfolding before him.
