Primitive Man

A merciless and unforgiving world where a common cold could kill you, a world where survival of the fittest applied— A world where humans aren't at the top of the food chain. A world where the roar of predators echoes through the wilderness, and the threat of being hunted lingers around every corner. A world where the natural elements are both beautiful and deadly, with raging storms and scorching heat waves that can wipe out entire communities. Every day is a battle for survival, with individuals and groups fighting tooth and nail to secure food, shelter, and water. The weak and vulnerable are often left behind, their fate sealed by the brutal law of the jungle. And in this same age, same jungle there was a young boy, whose fate changed when he heard an unknown voice in his head. Garnt woke up feeling a little better after he was on the verge of death because of a single wound he suffered from hunting, and the first thing he noticed was that everything around him looked foreign to him, even though the cave he was lying in was supposed to be his home. While he was unconscious from the injuries, Garnt saw several things he couldn't even understand. He saw people using brick-like equipment to communicate with each other and flying monsters that happily served humans by taking them inside their bodies. A bizarre world where everyone covered their bodies. He saw giant structures that stood even taller than the largest caves he had seen and suddenly a voice questioned his mind about what he witnessed. [Why do these waters look muddy? Why don't you filter them?] What are you talking about? This is how they are supposed to look.  [Why are these weapons so blunt?] They are sharp enough for me. [Where are your clothes, Don't you get cold?] What are clothes, I don't know. [Why do men and women look like they don't feel anything while having sex? Wasn't it supposed to be romantic and sensual?] What do you mean? It is just an activity for procreation. After witnessing such a world, Garnt felt like they were missing something important. His current status looked like a living hell when he compared it with the vision he had. But was that vision real? Does something like that really exist? [Yes, it exists. Do you want to see that world? I will help you, but in exchange, you should make my dream come true.] ————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————— Author's Note: —This story has R-18 elements to it, but no netorare (NTR) —This story doesn't follow the real evolution process from the Pre-historic period and there are some added fantasy elements since this is a work of fiction. Food Chain

"I feel bad about lying to her, Why can't I tell her the truth, Eva?" Garnt was asking a simple question that Eva didn't want to answer honestly, so she decided to avoid it like always using a simple argument and the most common one she could think of.

[We don't need to give her extra things to care about. Unlike you, she won't understand what you're talking about since she doesn't have a system like me that will help her, so you will only make her more confused by telling these unwanted things.]

"But I feel bad about lying-"

[Of course, lying is bad. especially if you love that certain someone, but sometimes a lie is needed, if the truth is only going to hurt them or cause more pain. At least until she gets a better understanding, we will be only keeping her at edge telling her that some guardian spirit helped you. Got it?]

"Alright, alright, so what's the plan now? Are we going hunting again? We could use some meat. We've been surviving on fruits for the past three days." Garnt nodded his head accepting her words.

[Yes and take your mother with you this time, I don't even think she will let you go all alone for a long time. Also, try to find some other humans that you can control. We need more people if you want to develop this place.]

Garnt looked at her mother with side eyes and saw her busy with so many leaves and fruits like she was searching for something.

[Look at her! Honestly, I think she is a genius, she is doing her own part to find some medicine that will help you, She is a great woman that I can respect.]

Feeling happy from Eva's compliment about his mother, Garnt slowly approached her and was about to tell her he was going back out for hunting, but before he could speak, she shot up from her spot with a serious look on her face.

"No, I won't let you go hunting all alone," she said firmly, her tone leaving no room for argument. "I'm coming with you."

Garnt was taken aback by his mother's sudden determination. He hadn't expected her to react so strongly when he didn't even question her. It showed him how much she knew about him and his behaviour.

"Mom, I appreciate your concern, but you don't need to worry. I can do it this time since I have practice, and I can handle it just fine with extra care," Garnt protested.

His mother's expression remained resolute. "I know you can handle it, but I can't just sit here and do nothing. We're family, Garnt, and I won't let you go out there alone while I stay back here."

Eva's prediction had hit the mark. Garnt couldn't help but smile at his mother's determination and care.

"Alright, Mom," he conceded, his smile widening. "If you're that insistent, then I guess we're going hunting together."

With that, both mother and son began to prepare for their hunting expedition. Garnt grabbed his new bone dagger and checked his pouches for other supplies, and made sure he was ready for the journey ahead. His mother, too, gathered some tools and a wooden basket to carry back their findings.

As they made their way out of the cave, Garnt couldn't help but feel a sense of unity and purpose. Despite his initial reluctance, he was grateful for his mother's steadfast support and her willingness to stand by his side.

Together, they ventured into the wilderness, ready to provide for their family and face the challenges that awaited them. While they were walking Garnt wanted to clear something with Eva, so he questioned about the points that he collected since he wanted to know how and why he got all these points.

[I wondered when you would ask that, I thought you completely forgot about it, listen carefully]

[I don't know about the maximum points you can get, but the minimum is a hundred. By defeating primary consumers you can get something like between 100 and 1000. What I mean by that is animals that consume only plant matter. Most of the insects also belong to this and that's why you got a point when you killed insects earlier.]

Garnt listened to her carefully and unlike last time, he completely understood her words this time.

[Secondary consumers, mostly known for consuming primary consumers, you can get 1000 to 5000 points depending on the strength of the animal. For now, it will be pretty hard for you, but don't worry we can soon kill these things.]

[Then you have the tertiary consumers, that eat the secondary consumers in a food chain. This makes them carnivores, they do not typically eat plants. If you look at a food chain, this is the fourth organism in the chain, starting with producers. You can get around 5000 to 10000 points, if you try this but I don't recommend it now]

"So this is the food chain, what an interesting concept. Humans like us are tertiary consumers, and if I kill another human I will get more points. Am I right?"

[Well, you're not wrong. Humans are also animals, after all, it might be even easier than other predators in this place because I can tell these animals are a lot stronger and fierce than what I remember]

Garnt and his mother were walking around the forest collecting fruits and finding animals, so he kept his eyes on the area even though he was talking with Eva.

[This whole point system is something like a punishment, after all, I'm not supposed to be helping you in the first place. As a result of what I'm doing the history of the world will completely change and it is not something small. So believe in me Garnt when I say, to me right now, you're just as important as my life.]

"Well, I'm glad to hear that, but it's time to hunt right now," As soon as Garnt said those words, he suddenly threw a rock at full speed causing it to stagger a pelt rabbit close to him, and before it could escape he quickly ran and grabbed it by the neck and quickly slit its throat.

Gundo didn't even know what happened, but she was impressed by her son's skills.

"Looks like we are going to have rabbit meat tonight," Looking at his mother, he said with a smile while holding the rabbit from its ears while blood kept leaking from it while Eva just sighed feeling relaxed.
