Vaughn's Fear

Third Person Point of View

"I absolutely want to go inside the horror booth." Chlea shrieked excitedly. Molly told her that this year's booth is probably the scariest, according to a sophomore she befriended and gave her a little peek at the booth yesterday.

The color drains from Vaughn's face just by the mention of a 'horror booth'. His deep-rooted fear for anything 'haunted' can be traced back to when they were five and ten, him and his brother, respectively. His brother, Stevan, once sneaked out of their house along with the five-year-old Vaughn when they escaped the eyes of their nanny. While he was inside their car, Stevan once saw a colorful and festive place and just can't stop thinking about the nearby funfair which also has horror houses. Poor young Vaughn had no choice but to obediently hold on to the ends of his brother's shirt or else, he would be lost in the great surge of people coming in.
