I turned around to face him. In a span of seconds, I hugged him so tight until I hear his heartbeat. At this very moment, everything felt calm within me in his arms. Vaughn buried his face on my shoulder. I hear him sniff, my clothes getting soaked with his tears.
"Why are you crying? You should be happy," I said, caressing his face. Using my thumb, I wiped away grains of tears escaping his eyes.
He shook his head and held my hands. "I thought I was going to die,"
"We all thought so," I stared at him in the eye, holding back my tears.
Vaughn gripped my hands tightly. "I'm glad you are the first person I saw," He looked down once again and sobbed. "I can't die not being able to make it up to you. I have done you so wrong,"
"Hush. Don't worry about that," I looked straight in his eye. "I love you, and that's what matters,"
He made a space on his bed and tapped it for me to sit. Vaughn kissed my forehead as I sat down.
