Father Satuk boarded the public carriage, and within the cramped space, pairs of eyes stared at him, filled with a mix of confusion, calm, and displeasure.
Someone inside the carriage was actually smoking!
Father Satuk glanced at the man sitting by the window, drawing on his pipe, said nothing, and simply stood at the entrance, observing the passengers.
"What are you looking at? Hurry up and find a seat! If there are no seats left, go up above!"
No one knew who initiated it, but the carriage immediately echoed with agreement, as if many people were angry at Father Satuk standing motionless at the spot for so long; after all, it wasted everyone's time. This was hardly a comfortable environment, and no one wanted to stay a second longer. Yet here was someone who, instead of getting on or conducting a check, simply caused irritation for everyone.
