First Working Day

As she began her first day of work in the office of the country's top company group, she was unprepared for something that none had told her about.

Feast for the eyes.

Most gorgeous men and women she had ever seen, all dressed to perfection and more stunning than the previous office she had ever worked before. She was even more taken aback when she saw the lavish furnishings and interior at the office.

This time, she liked to think of herself as the kind of straightforward girl. Behind her back, she had most likely been referred to as a ballbuster on more than one occasion.

Sitting down on the ergonomic mesh chair, she considered her options.

She could work for a jerk who shifted all of his responsibilities to her without giving her any of the credit she deserved… or she could start figuring out how to build an office environment.

When she looked down at her phone, she was trying to remember what else he had given her to do and how she was going to get enough money to survive.

It was such an obvious choice. She'd do the greatest possible job here for the experience, then leave the jerk hanging, knowing that none would ever be as good as she was in the role.

Melody began her first day as a personal assistant full of optimism and enthusiasm. She was eager to make a good impression on her new boss, and was determined to do her job to the best of her abilities.

When she went to Mason's office at the twenty-fourth floor, she was greeted by his assistant, a chic and well-dressed woman of about thirty. She came up to Melody and extended a hand, her face lit up with excitement.

"Hi. I'm Celia Hooper, and I'm the assistant to Mr. Mason Winters, the managing director. We're glad to have you join us." With a friendly expression on her face, she remarked, "Mason informed me this morning about new executive assistant to Mr. Blodwyn."

"Hi, Celia. I'm Melody Brynleigh. Nice to meet you," Melody replied.

"Mr. Winters is currently in a meeting, but he'll be out in just a moment. In the meantime, let me show you around and get you set up at your desk."

Celia took her on a short tour of the office, showing her the various departments and introducing her to some of her colleagues along the way.

As they walked, Celia pointed out the different areas of the office, explaining how each one functioned and who worked there.

Melody can see several glass-walled conference rooms, each equipped with state-of-the-art technology for video conferencing and presentations. The conference rooms were designed to be both functional and stylish, with sleek white tables and comfortable chairs.

Beyond the conference rooms, Melody can see rows of sleek white desks, each occupied by a hard-working employee. The desks were arranged in a grid, with clear glass dividers to provide some privacy without sacrificing the open-concept feel of the office.

There was a communal pantry area, where employees can prepare meals and take a break from work. It was well-stocked with coffee, tea, and snacks, and had a large island for food preparation and informal meetings.

The office also had a spacious and well-equipped gym, which employees can use before or after work, or during their lunch breaks. The gym had high ceilings and large windows that let in plenty of natural light, and was equipped with a range of exercise equipment, including treadmills, stationary bikes, and free weights.

Overall, the Xicorra Corporation office was a stylish, modern, and well-equipped space designed to foster creativity, productivity, and collaboration among its employees.

"Over here is the marketing department," Celia said, gesturing to a row of desks with brightly colored banners and posters on the walls. "They're responsible for promoting our products and services and building our brand."

They continued down the hall, passing the IT department with its rows of servers and computer monitors, and the sales team with its whiteboards covered in sales figures and graphs.

Celia also showed her the executive suite, where the top executives had their own offices with plush leather chairs and floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the city skyline.

"This is where the big decisions get made," Celia said with a smile.

As they made their way back to their own department, Celia asked her, "So, Melody, how did you find your way here?"

"I saw the job posting online and thought it sounded like an exciting opportunity." Melody felt the need to hide the truth.

"Ah, yes. Mr. Blodwyn is always looking for top talent. You must be very talented to have been chosen for this role."

Melody blushed at the compliment, feeling a twinge of guilt for her misbehavior and flushed at the comment.

"So, how do you find your new role?"

"It's definitely a lot to take in, but I'm excited to be here," Melody replied.

"That's great to hear. Just remember, if you ever need any help or have any questions, don't hesitate to ask me or any of your colleagues here," Celia said.

"Thank you, Celia."

A few moments later, Mason walked out of the meeting room, a tall and imposing figure of about forty in a perfectly tailored suit. Celia introduced her, and Mason shook her hand firmly.

"Welcome to the team, Melody. I hope you're ready to hit the ground running," he said with a smile.

"I'm looking forward to it, Mr. Winters," Melody replied.

As the day went on, Melody found herself juggling multiple tasks and keeping up with Morgan's busy schedule for the day. She arranged meetings, responded to emails, and made phone calls, all while trying to keep up with the fast pace of the office.

However, just as she was about to confirm a meeting time with one of Morgan's clients, she accidentally hit the "reply all" button on the email, sending a message meant for the client to the entire office.

Melody froze as her mistake dawned on her. She had just sent confidential information to people who weren't supposed to see it.

Immediately, her coworkers started replying to the email, asking what was going on and making jokes at her mistakes. She could feel the heat rising in her cheeks as she read their messages.

Morgan, who had been in a meeting, saw the email chain. He quickly realized what had happened and called her immediately.

"Ms. Brynleigh, I just got a call from a very upset client. They didn't received the email, and it's causing us a lot of problems. What happened?" Morgan spoke in a stern tone.

"I apologize, Mr. Blodwyn. It was a mistake. I hit the wrong button," Melody replied, her voice trembling.

"This is a serious breach of confidentiality, Ms. Brynleigh. I expect better from my personal assistant." His voice was icy and distant when he spoke. "This is unacceptable. We can't afford to make mistakes like this. We pride ourselves on our professionalism and accuracy, and this kind of error reflects very poorly on us."

"I understand, sir. I'm taking full responsibility for the mistake, and I'll do everything I can to make it right."

"Let's see if you're as reliable as you seem, Ms. Brynleigh. We can't afford to lose clients over simple mistakes."

"I completely understand, sir. I'll take the necessary steps to make sure it never happens again."

"Ms. Brynleigh, I expect nothing less. This is your job, and we're counting on you to get it right. Don't let me down."

"I won't, Mr. Blodwyn. Thank you for bringing this to my attention, and I'll work hard to make things right."

Melody hung her head, feeling terrible about her mistake. She knew that she had let him down and that it would take a while to earn his trust back.
